Middle East Airlines has changed its Beirut flights to Jeddah and Dammam from October 25 through November 3, 2026. Several departures now leave in the morning or early afternoon, and some Jeddah evening services have been combined with morning flights.

MEA's Riyadh flights remain suspended. The airline says they will not resume until King Khalid International Airport reopens and the required operating authorizations are obtained. It has not given a restart date.

The practical answer: check the date and flight number in your booking before going to the airport. MEA is allowing fee-free changes within the same class through November 3, fee-free route changes to or from Jeddah or Dammam, and refunds without fees under this notice.

This page was checked at 1:15 p.m. in Beirut and Saudi Arabia on October 22, 2026. The airline can revise an active disruption again.

What MEA confirmed on October 22

MEA's October 22 statement replaces the practical planning window in its earlier October 16 notice. It covers flights between Beirut (BEY) and Jeddah (JED) or Dammam (DMM) from October 25 through November 3, inclusive.

RouteCurrent position
Beirut to and from JeddahRevised times, with several evening services combined into morning flights
Beirut to and from DammamRevised times on five operating dates
Beirut to and from RiyadhSuspended with no restart date
Flexible policySame-class changes through November 3, route changes to or from Jeddah or Dammam, and refunds without fees

The notice lists local departure times. The tables below use 24-hour time and do not add arrival times that the airline did not publish.

Sunday, November 1ME442 at 11:05ME443 at 15:30
Tuesday, November 3ME442 at 14:00ME443 at 18:25

The flight-number pair changes on October 27. Match the number as well as the date, especially if an older itinerary still shows a different departure time.

October 29 is different. ME364 leaves Beirut for Madinah at 07:25, then leaves Madinah for Jeddah at 11:10. Do not read that row as a nonstop Beirut to Jeddah flight.

MEA says the scheduled evening ME368 and ME369 services on October 28 through November 1 are combined with the morning ME364 and ME365 flights. Passengers on the affected evening bookings should look for a reissued itinerary rather than relying on the old time.

Why the Riyadh timetable can be misleading

MEA's route-level notice says Riyadh service remains suspended until both the airport and operating-authorization conditions are satisfied. It gives no flight number or date for a restart.

Beirut airport's public flight board was still showing future MEA Riyadh timetable entries when checked. It also marked the October 22 ME423 arrival as cancelled for that day. A future timetable entry is not proof that the route has resumed.

Use MEA's flight-status tool for the exact flight. It accepts MEA flight numbers and checks up to five days ahead. For a later date, use Manage Booking and ask MEA or the ticket issuer to confirm the current status in writing.

How the flexible ticket policy works

The October 22 statement provides three choices for affected travel:

  • change the booking without a fee, within the same travel class, for travel through November 3;
  • change the route to or from Jeddah or Dammam without a fee; or
  • request a refund without fees.

The notice does not say that any replacement flight or travel class is guaranteed. Ask what is available before committing to a ground transfer, another airline or a new ticket.

MEA's online cancellation and refund page says only tickets issued through the MEA website or app can normally be refunded online. Tickets issued by an MEA sales office, call center or travel agent should go back to that issuer. For an online ticket on a flight cancelled by MEA, the airline directs passengers to its non-voluntary refund form.

If one booking contains several passengers or several sectors, confirm exactly what will be changed or refunded. Do not cancel the whole record online when you intend to keep another passenger or a return flight.

Connections, separate tickets and ground transfers

For a through ticket, ask the issuer to protect the full journey, not just the Beirut to Saudi sector. Check every new flight number, the connection time, checked-bag destination and status of the return journey.

Separate tickets remain separate contracts. An MEA schedule change does not automatically protect another airline, hotel, rail ticket or car booking. Contact each provider before its no-show deadline and keep the written response and receipts.

A route change between Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah can create a long ground journey. Before accepting it, compare the actual airport, arrival time, onward transport and any hotel impact. Do not assume the airline's fee waiver includes ground transport or reimburses a replacement bought without approval.

Saudi Arabia's Passenger Rights Protection Regulations may apply to a departure from a Saudi airport. The regulation separates alternative flights, refunds, care and compensation, with exceptions that can depend on the reason and circumstances. Use MEA and GACA for a case-specific decision rather than assuming a universal payment.

Mobile data after a changed Saudi journey

OpenSim did not list a Lebanon-only destination plan when checked on October 22. Do not buy a Saudi or GCC plan expecting it to cover Lebanon.

A Saudi Arabia OpenSim eSIM can support flight checks, maps and messages after arrival in Jeddah or Dammam. A GCC OpenSim eSIM listed Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates in its public coverage, which may be useful if a changed journey also crosses another covered Gulf country.

Check the chosen package's allowance, validity, network, hotspot support and top-up field at checkout. Keep the usual SIM active if MEA, a bank or the ticket issuer sends verification texts to that number. An eSIM provides ground mobile data where its package has coverage; it does not change a flight or extend an airline waiver.

Ten questions about MEA's Saudi flight changes

Are MEA flights to Jeddah cancelled?

MEA has published a revised Jeddah schedule from October 25 through November 3 rather than a route-wide cancellation. Some evening flights are combined with morning services, so check the exact date and number in the booking.

Are MEA flights to Dammam operating?

MEA lists Dammam flights on October 25, 27 and 29 and November 1 and 3, with revised departure times. The flight numbers differ on October 27.

When will MEA resume Riyadh flights?

MEA has not announced a restart date. It says the route remains suspended until King Khalid International Airport reopens and the required operating authorizations are obtained.

Why does my Riyadh flight still appear in a timetable?

A published timetable can remain visible while a route-level suspension is active. Treat MEA's dated notice as the network position and ask the airline or issuer to confirm the exact booking.

What happens to ME368 or ME369 between October 28 and November 1?

MEA says the scheduled evening flights are combined with the morning ME364 and ME365 services on those dates. Look for a reissued itinerary with the new time and number.

Does ME364 fly nonstop to Jeddah on October 29?

No. MEA's table shows ME364 leaving Beirut for Madinah at 07:25, then leaving Madinah for Jeddah at 11:10. Confirm the stop process directly with MEA if it affects documents, mobility support or checked bags.

Can I change from Riyadh to Jeddah or Dammam without a fee?

The October 22 policy permits route changes to or from Jeddah or Dammam without a fee. Availability and the exact treatment of a Riyadh booking still need confirmation from MEA or the issuer.

Can I get a refund without a fee?

MEA's notice says refunds are permitted without fees. The processing route depends on who issued the ticket. Online MEA tickets can use the airline's applicable online or non-voluntary process, while agent-issued tickets should go back to the agent.

What if my ticket was bought through a travel agent?

Contact the issuing agent. MEA's refund guidance tells passengers with tickets issued by a travel agent, sales office or call center to use that original issuing channel.

What should I check before paying for another flight?

First ask MEA or the issuer to confirm the status and available reroute or refund. Buying independently can leave separate bookings, bags and ground transport unprotected, and reimbursement is not guaranteed by the notice.

Check the booking again before departure

Save the revised itinerary and confirm each sector before leaving for Beirut, Jeddah or Dammam airport. For Riyadh, do not treat a future schedule listing as a restart announcement.

This page should be reviewed if MEA changes the October 25 to November 3 schedule, ends or extends the Riyadh suspension, revises the flexible policy, or publishes a later operating notice.
