Air New Zealand Christchurch-Singapore flights: schedule guide
Air New Zealand scheduled its first nonstop Christchurch-Singapore service for October 28, 2026. The seasonal route uses NZ64 from Christchurch and NZ63 from Singapore three times a week, giving South Island travelers an Air New Zealand-operated alternative to connecting in Auckland.
The launch-day NZ64 was still shown as scheduled when this guide was checked at 19:10 New Zealand Daylight Time on October 28. Travelers should use Air New Zealand's flight-status tool for the latest operation rather than treating this article as a live tracker.

The practical answer: NZ64 is scheduled to leave Christchurch at 17:05 on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. NZ63 leaves Singapore at 00:30 on the airline's published pattern, with a special Sunday-for-Monday adjustment during November. Check the exact date because the return day and airline schedules can change.
Air New Zealand's Christchurch-Singapore schedule
Air New Zealand's current Singapore alliance timetable lists these flights. The airline says the information was accurate on August 18 and remains subject to change.
| Flight | Route | Published operating days | Departure | Arrival |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| NZ64 | Christchurch (CHC) to Singapore (SIN) | Wednesday, Friday and Sunday | 17:05 | 22:40 |
| NZ63 | Singapore (SIN) to Christchurch (CHC) | Monday, Wednesday and Friday* | 00:30 | 15:25 |
All times are local. The NZ64 schedule shows a block time of 10 hours and 35 minutes. NZ63 shows nine hours and 55 minutes because Singapore is five hours behind Christchurch while New Zealand daylight saving is in effect.
The asterisk matters. Air New Zealand says NZ63 operates on Sunday instead of Monday during November. A Sunday 00:30 departure means arriving at Changi late on Saturday night, not Sunday evening. Search the actual date and keep the issued itinerary rather than planning from the weekday table alone.
The route is seasonal and Air New Zealand operates it
Christchurch Airport's summer schedule runs the new Air New Zealand service from October 28, 2026 to March 26, 2027. It lists three weekly flights on a Boeing 787-9. An aircraft can still change for operational reasons, so the seat map in the booking is the better guide for a specific departure.
Air New Zealand operates NZ63 and NZ64. Singapore Airlines sells codeshares on the service, including SQ4296 on the Christchurch departure and SQ4297 on the Singapore departure. That is different from the separate Singapore Airlines-operated flights between the same airports. Check the "operated by" line before choosing a cabin, seat or airline-specific benefit.
Air New Zealand's booking page was selling Christchurch-Singapore departures from October 28 when checked. A bookable date supports the planned service, but it does not guarantee that a future flight will operate or keep the same time.
Check in online, then use the time on the ticket
Air New Zealand opens online check-in 24 hours before an Air New Zealand-operated international flight. Its international check-in guide says some flights close check-in 90 minutes before departure and others close 120 minutes before departure. The exact cutoff appears in the app, check-in email or e-ticket.
Bag drop at an international airport generally opens around three hours before departure. Christchurch has Air New Zealand self-service kiosks, but document checks or special assistance can still require the staffed counter. Arrive with enough time for check-in, international security and border processing rather than aiming for the cutoff.
At Changi, Air New Zealand uses Terminal 3 for this route. Its Changi check-in page directs eligible transit passengers without a boarding pass to Transfer Desk B in Terminal 3. A traveler arriving on a low-cost carrier or a separate booking may need to enter Singapore, collect baggage and check in again.
Economy carry-on is one 7kg bag plus a personal item
Air New Zealand's current baggage guide gives Economy passengers one carry-on bag up to 7kg plus one small personal item. The carry-on limit is 55 x 40 x 23cm, including wheels and handles.
Premium Economy and Business Premier have different cabin allowances. Frequent-flyer status can also change the allowance. Do not apply the Economy limit to every ticket, and do not rely on another passenger saying that a bag was not weighed.
The airline's baggage table lists one checked bag for standard international Economy, two for Premium Economy and three for Business Premier. It also notes that some Economy journeys between New Zealand and Singapore include two bags. Each standard checked bag can weigh up to 23kg before extra charges apply. The confirmed allowance in Manage Booking or on the e-ticket controls because a codeshare, connecting airline, status benefit or fare can alter the total.
Protect separate-ticket connections at both airports
A connection on one ticket is not the same as two bookings. Air New Zealand says a bag is normally tagged to the final destination when an eligible partner connection is on the same booking. Separate international tickets normally require separate check-in, baggage collection and re-checking.
Changi Airport defines an airside transit passenger as someone whose flights are on the same itinerary and whose checked bag is tagged through. If either condition is missing, plan for Singapore entry requirements and enough time to collect the bag, move to the correct check-in area and clear departure controls again.
At Christchurch, all international arrivals must collect baggage and pass through Customs before a domestic connection. The airport has domestic and international operations in one integrated terminal, but a short walk does not protect a separate ticket. Allow for a delayed inbound flight, biosecurity inspection, the next flight's bag-drop cutoff and the cost of a missed connection.
Complete the right arrival declaration
Travelers entering Singapore generally need the free SG Arrival Card within three days, including the day of arrival. Singapore's Immigration and Checkpoints Authority says passengers who remain in transit without seeking immigration clearance are exempt. The card is not a visa, and passport-specific entry permission still needs a separate check.
Everyone arriving in New Zealand must complete the free New Zealand Traveller Declaration, including New Zealand passport holders and children. An air traveler can submit it from 24 hours before starting the trip to New Zealand and must submit it by passport control. Declare food, outdoor equipment and other listed items honestly; a connection or New Zealand passport does not remove the requirement.
Mobile data for New Zealand and Singapore
For a stay at one end of the route, compare the New Zealand OpenSim eSIM or Singapore OpenSim eSIM. The current Asia-20 OpenSim eSIM coverage includes both countries and can suit a trip that continues around the region. It also covers many destinations that a point-to-point traveler may not need, so compare its allowance and price with the two country plans.
The live catalog showed six New Zealand packages and five Singapore packages on October 28. Entry prices started at USD1.70 for New Zealand and USD1.76 for Singapore. Prices, allowances, networks, validity, speed and top-up eligibility are package-specific and can change, so use the selected product card at checkout.
An eSIM provides mobile data on the ground. It does not provide inflight Wi-Fi, protect a missed connection or change an airline's service area. Before travel, check whether the phone supports eSIM and when to install an eSIM.
Ten questions about Air New Zealand Christchurch-Singapore flights
Has Air New Zealand started Christchurch-Singapore flights?
The route was scheduled to start on October 28, 2026. The launch-day NZ64 still appeared as scheduled at 19:10 New Zealand Daylight Time, so check Air New Zealand's live status for the completed operation and for any future departure.
Which days does NZ64 fly from Christchurch?
The published pattern is Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 17:05. The flight is scheduled to reach Singapore at 22:40 on the same calendar day.
When does NZ63 leave Singapore for Christchurch?
NZ63 is published at 00:30, arriving in Christchurch at 15:25. The normal pattern is Monday, Wednesday and Friday, but Air New Zealand says the Monday service moves to Sunday during November.
Is the Christchurch-Singapore flight nonstop?
Yes. Air New Zealand and Christchurch Airport describe NZ63 and NZ64 as nonstop. It is separate from an itinerary that connects through Auckland and from Singapore Airlines' own nonstop services on the route.
Is an SQ flight number operated by Singapore Airlines?
Not always. SQ4296 and SQ4297 are Singapore Airlines codeshares operated by Air New Zealand as NZ64 and NZ63. Read the operating-carrier line because check-in, aircraft and some benefits follow the operating flight.
Which terminal does Air New Zealand use at Changi?
Air New Zealand uses Terminal 3. Eligible connecting passengers can use Transfer Desk B, while travelers who must enter Singapore need to follow arrival, baggage and landside check-in instructions.
How early should I arrive at Christchurch Airport?
Use the exact time in the Air NZ app or e-ticket. International check-in can close 90 or 120 minutes before departure, and bag drop generally opens around three hours before departure. Leave additional time for document checks, security and border processing.
How much cabin baggage can I take in Economy?
Economy includes one carry-on bag up to 7kg and 55 x 40 x 23cm, plus one small personal item. A higher cabin or eligible status can have a different allowance.
Will my checked bag go through on a connection?
It usually can on an eligible same-booking itinerary, but separate international tickets normally require collection and re-checking. Ask at the first counter and confirm the destination printed on the bag tag.
Do I need an arrival card while transiting Singapore?
Not when remaining airside without immigration clearance. If a separate ticket, baggage collection or stopover requires entering Singapore, submit the free SG Arrival Card within the permitted three-day window and confirm passport-specific entry rules.
