Oktoberfest Macau 2026: tickets, tables and getting home

Oktoberfest Macau at MGM runs October 28-November 8, 2026, from 18:00 to midnight at MGM COTAI's 1/F Roof Terrace. Entry costs MOP180, except October 30 and 31 when it costs MOP280. A ticket includes one standard drink, not a reserved seat or an evening's food. Book a table separately if sitting together matters, and plan the return journey before staying until closing.
This is the Cotai resort, not MGM MACAU on the peninsula. Both have ticket counters, which makes the distinction worth checking before you set off.
The Macao tourism office's event listing confirms the dates and two admission prices. The festival crosses into November; an old Oktoberfest listing with different October dates is not a guide to this edition.
Cantomania nights or ordinary admission?
MGM's September 24 announcement describes German food, communal tables and live music under a festival marquee. German band SAKRISCH GUAT joins the programme, while Cantomania brings Cantopop DJ nights on Friday, October 30, and Saturday, October 31.
Those two nights cost MOP100 more to enter. Choose them for the Cantopop programme, rather than assume every Friday and Saturday has the higher admission price. November 6 and 7 fall under the ordinary MOP180 entry rate, although Friday and Saturday table spending is higher.
Roasted pork knuckle, roast chicken and pretzels are among the announced food choices. MGM also lists non-alcoholic beer and other beverages. A non-drinker can still go for dinner and music, but should check which drink the ticket covers before ordering.
Admission and a table are separate purchases
The current MGM event page says entry tickets have no seating and no minimum spend. A reserved table zone has its own per-person food and drink requirement, excluding admission.
| Table zone | Sunday to Thursday, per person | Friday and Saturday, per person |
|---|---|---|
| A | MOP350 | MOP450 |
| B | MOP250 | MOP350 |
| C | MOP200 | MOP250 |
| D | No minimum spend; seating depends on on-site arrangements | No minimum spend; seating depends on on-site arrangements |
The table minimum is held as food and beverage e-coupons in a wristband. It is not the price of the entry ticket. Champagne is excluded from the ticket's included drink.
For example, an adult choosing Zone C should plan for at least:
- MOP380 on a Sunday-to-Thursday night: MOP180 admission plus MOP200 table spending.
- MOP530 on October 30 or 31: MOP280 admission plus MOP250 table spending.
- MOP430 on November 6 or 7: MOP180 admission plus MOP250 table spending.
These are sums of the published admission and spending requirements, not a final checkout quote or a promise that a table is available. Extra orders can raise the bill. Ask how unused wristband credit is handled before loading more than you expect to spend.
For a short visit, entry without a table may suit you. For a group dinner, confirm the reservation, zone and number of seats before everyone buys admission. Zone D's lack of a minimum does not guarantee that your group can sit together.
Where to buy and collect your tickets
Start with MGM's official ticket portal, linked from the event page. If your chosen date or table cannot be booked online, MGM directs enquiries to +853 8802 2666 or [email protected]. An empty online booking screen is not confirmation that every seat has sold out.
The MacauTicket listing tells its buyers to exchange the order confirmation for the event's admission ticket and drinks wristband before entry. Follow the collection instructions for the channel you use; do not assume a confirmation email is the final admission credential.
| Counter during the festival | Published hours |
|---|---|
| MGM COTAI Lion Lobby, MGM Box Office | 09:00-22:00 |
| MGM COTAI Spectacle 1/F Oktoberfest counter | 17:00-23:00 |
| MGM MACAU L1, opposite Pastry Bar | 12:00-19:00 |
If arriving late, use the counter's closing time when planning your collection, not the festival's midnight finish. Save the order number and collection instructions on your phone, with a second copy shared with someone in your group.
MGM gives the event approach as the escalator from the Spectacle toward Grill 58 and the first floor. If you need a step-free route, a particular seating arrangement or assistance, confirm it with the venue before paying. The published escalator directions alone do not establish an accessible route.
Can children attend?
MGM lists free admission for children aged nine or below, without a seat. That is an admission rule, not a guarantee of family seating. Ask about your group's arrangement if bringing children, especially when reserving a dinner table.
The venue prohibits supplying alcohol to anyone under 18. Plan around an evening of amplified music and a late finish rather than treating this as a daytime children's attraction. For broader sightseeing and a slower family itinerary, use the Macao with kids guide.
Getting to MGM COTAI and leaving before transport ends
The MGM COTAI visit guide lists complimentary shuttles, but their operating windows finish before the festival does:
| Shuttle connection | Published operating window |
|---|---|
| Airport and ferry-terminal loop | 09:00-21:45 |
| Border Gate, Hengqin Port and Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge connections | 09:00-23:30 |
| MGM MACAU and MGM COTAI connection | 09:00-23:30 |
These are service windows, not a guaranteed last pickup from each stop. MGM warns that passenger numbers or traffic can bring boarding restrictions. Ask staff about the departure you need when you arrive, and allow time for the walk and queue.
If you are returning to Hong Kong, plan the whole journey: hotel departure, the correct port, border procedures and the onward service. A shuttle to a port is not a ferry reservation or proof of an onward bus seat. Staying in Macao avoids a cross-border deadline, but still leaves the hotel journey to arrange.
The LRT is not an all-night fallback
The official Taipa Line timetable page publishes service hours of 06:30-23:15 Monday to Thursday, and 06:30-23:59 Friday to Sunday and public holidays. Check the station departure timetable for your direction and date; those headline hours are not the last train from every station.
Cotai East station is on Avenida da Nave Desportiva. Save its location and your hotel route before dinner. Do not stay until midnight and assume that walking out of the tent immediately puts you on a train.
Decide your leaving time before the evening begins. If you plan to stay later than your useful shuttle or train, ask the hotel about the taxi queue or arrange another confirmed option. Mobile data helps you check a route and contact companions; it cannot guarantee a taxi.
Useful phone preparation for the evening
Macao launched its new Macau Weather app and dsmg.gov.mo website on October 16, according to the government announcement. Use the current official service for weather warnings and forecasts, and check MGM for any event-specific change. A tent does not make transport disruption irrelevant.
Before leaving your accommodation:
- Save the venue as MGM COTAI, along with your hotel's address and a meeting point inside the resort.
- Keep ticket collection details and the relevant return timetable available offline.
- Share a leaving time with your group and carry enough battery for the journey home.
For a short Macao stay, OpenSim's Macao eSIM plans include 1GB for seven days at USD1.92 and 3GB for 15 days at USD4.92, checked October 27, 2026. Both listed fixed-data plans support top-up. The smaller allowance gives you a lower starting spend than buying the larger plan when you only need messages, tickets and route checks; it is not a claim that OpenSim beats every provider or home roaming package.
If Macao data is already included in your home plan at a suitable cost, another purchase may be unnecessary. The Macao-only plans listed here do not establish coverage in Hong Kong or mainland China, and mobile data should not be mistaken for a local phone number. Check the actual itinerary and plan terms. Checkout totals can vary with fees or currency conversion.
Use the travel data calculator to estimate your allowance, then check phone compatibility and installation timing before departure.
Sources and updates
Dates, programme and ticket terms come from MGM and the Macao tourism office; collection instructions come from MacauTicket. Transport details come from MGM and Macao LRT, and the weather-service update comes from the Macao government. Details were checked October 27, 2026. Recheck the organizer's pages before buying, particularly for October 30-31 table arrangements, and check transport again on your visit day. This guide covers the 2026 edition and will be reviewed when the festival ends on November 8 or if its official arrangements change.
