Illuminated fair stalls beside half-timbered buildings on Soest's market square in November 2011

Soest's Allerheiligenkirmes takes place from November 4 to 8, 2026, across the old town. Entry is free, but rides and purchases cost extra. Plan your journey before arriving: closures start on October 26, buses move away from the usual station forecourt, and the two park-and-ride options have different fares.

The city's event page confirms the five-day dates. This is a fair spread through streets and squares rather than one fenced amusement park. A short visit can be a walk, something to eat and a few rides; enthusiasts may want longer to follow the current map.

There is a useful reason to plan now rather than on the train: the organizer's closure notice affects the city before the fair opens. A hotel or bus stop that looks convenient on an ordinary-day map may need a different approach.

The photograph shows the 2011 fair, not the 2026 ride lineup or current layout.

Opening hours: an early start does not mean every ride is ready

The official fair homepage gives these hours:

DayPublished opening windowQualification for an early visit
Wednesday, November 4Noon to 11pmAll businesses open by 3pm
Thursday, November 510am to 11pmCheck any specific activity separately
Friday, November 6Noon to 2am SaturdayAll businesses open by 1pm
Saturday, November 710am to 2am SundayAll businesses open by 11am
Sunday, November 811am to 10pmPlan your return before the final hour

On Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, the first time is the earliest permitted opening, not a promise that every operator starts then. If one ride is the reason for your journey, arriving exactly at noon on Wednesday may leave a substantial wait before it opens.

For a daytime family visit, choose a manageable period after the full opening time. For an evening visit, choose the return train or bus before deciding how late to stay. A 2am fair finish does not establish a 2am departure to your destination.

Choose a short route through the old town

Save the 2026 fair plan and toilet plan from the general information page before leaving Wi-Fi. Old photographs do not establish this year's ride locations.

Start with two or three things you want to do, then leave space for queues. Check the operator's height, age and other participation rules before buying a ticket. A ride being described as a family attraction does not mean every child can use it.

If you are going with someone who prefers watching to riding, agree on a nearby meeting place away from the queue entrance. Avoid filling the day with consecutive commitments across the town. Finding each other and getting through a busy street takes time too.

You do not need a reseller's admission ticket: entry is free. Check the individual ride's terms and price.

Closures begin before November 4

The organizer lists the first closures at Marktplatz on October 26, Großer Teich and Hansaplatz on October 27, and the south station forecourt on October 30. Large-scale setup begins October 31 at 2pm.

These dates matter for an ordinary visit to Soest as well as a fair trip. Ask your accommodation about its current drop-off or parking instructions instead of assuming the saved address is reachable by car. Follow signed diversions rather than attempting to drive through the fair area.

The bus-station move starts on October 31 at 10pm; the temporary bus station opposite Klinikum Mitte activates on November 1 at 6am. Check your individual line, because some routes use a different replacement stop.

Do not assume everything returns to normal immediately after Sunday night. Setup and dismantling occupy a wider period than the public fair dates. Recheck access if you are staying into the following week.

Train arrivals are close; bus departures depend on the line

The official arrival guide says the fair begins directly outside Soest railway station. That makes a train arrival convenient, but it does not mean your onward bus will still leave from its usual position.

RLG's current special-service page places C3, C4, C5, 647 and 531 at Hammer Weg near the Brüdertor roundabout. Other RLG lines use replacement stops on Walburger-Osthofen-Wallstraße opposite Klinikum Mitte.

Use the mobil info app for the special timetables, which RLG says are included in its journey information. Save the return stop name, line and destination, not just a screenshot saying "Soest Bahnhof". Look at the direction as well as the number when boarding.

On Sunday, RLG says final returns vary by line, generally between 9pm and 11pm. Some may leave before the fair closes. Check your actual service and leave room to walk to its temporary stop.

If a connection is essential for a flight or a long-distance train, allow a wider buffer than you would for an ordinary outing. An extra local service does not protect a separate onward booking.

West park-and-ride: EUR3 return, with limited operating windows

The organizer's arrival guide lists the west shuttle from Senator-Schwartz-Ring to Puppenstraße at roughly 10-minute intervals:

  • Friday, November 6: 6pm to 2am.
  • Saturday, November 7: 1pm to 2am.
  • Sunday, November 8: 11am to 11pm.

The listed price is EUR3 per person for the return journey, including parking. RLG explicitly says children up to and including 14 use this west park-and-ride free.

That does not make every surrounding business car park available for the whole window. The October 23 Soester Anzeiger report, quoting the city, lists Kaufland for Sunday only from 11am, Toom from 8pm Friday and Saturday, and CEAG from 6pm Friday, 1pm Saturday and 11am Sunday. Follow the current event parking signs at the actual lot.

Photograph where you parked and save the return shuttle stop. Do not leave finding the correct bus until a few minutes before its service finishes.

Southeast parking uses C7, not the EUR3 west fare

The southeast option uses city bus C7 under the WestfalenTarif, rather than the west shuttle's EUR3 return arrangement. Check your ticket's validity for that service instead of assuming both park-and-ride options are interchangeable.

Current operator information lists southeast service on Saturday from 1pm to 2am and Sunday from 11am to 11pm, with a roughly 15-minute frequency. Use the live journey planner for the stop and direction. General C7 running hours can begin earlier than the event parking opens.

Pick one parking area and its return service before setting off. If you switch lots because one is full, check whether the fare, bus stop and last departure have changed too.

Family visits, toilets and access

Collect free child-finder wristbands at Teichsmühle's Tourist Information beforehand, or children's carousel ticket booths and the town-hall information stand during the fair. Add a reachable parent's number and explain what to do if separated.

The information stand is also the fair's lost-property point. Mark it on your saved map.

If a step-free route, accessible toilet or supported ride transfer determines whether you can visit, ask the organizer about the specific location. A designated parking space does not establish that every route or attraction is accessible. Keep a shorter alternative available if crowds make the planned route uncomfortable.

Our Germany with kids guide covers wider itineraries. For this fair, a warm layer, a seated meal and an agreed finishing time can be more useful than a long ride checklist.

Food, payments and the sold-out pin presale

Check each stall's price and payment methods before ordering. Carry a modest cash backup rather than assuming every ride booth accepts your card. Keep enough available for the journey back, and do not treat a payment failure as proof that your phone has lost mobile data.

The first pin presale allocation is sold out. Limited sales resume at the town-hall stand on October 31 and November 1 from 11am, then November 4. Do not travel to the Tourist Information expecting that exhausted allocation, or assume a pin is guaranteed.

Buy food when you want a meal rather than expecting every stall to retain the same stock until the final closing minute. With allergies, ask the vendor about ingredients and cross-contact before ordering; another visitor's recommendation is not dietary assurance.

Mobile data for temporary stops and return journeys

An unlocked, compatible phone can use OpenSim Germany plans to check the temporary bus stop, reopen the fair map and message companions away from accommodation Wi-Fi. The public catalog checked October 24, 2026 lists 1GB for 7 days at USD1.14 and 3GB for 15 days at USD3.00, both supporting top-up. Recheck your selected plan and checkout total before buying.

A defined allowance gives you a price to compare against your home-network roaming tariff. If your existing plan already includes Germany, another plan may add no value. OpenSim cannot guarantee reception in every crowded street, reserve a ride or extend a bus service. Verify any requirement for calls, SMS or hotspot against the exact package.

Use the travel data calculator, check phone compatibility and read the installation timing guide before departure. Save the map, tickets, accommodation address and return-stop details offline too.

Soest fair sources and timetable updates

Details were checked on October 24, 2026 against Soest's official fair, arrival and closure pages, RLG's special-service information and the October 23 local parking report. Confirm the exact ride, service and car-park opening before travel.

We will update this URL for changed opening hours, temporary stops, parking or admission arrangements. Recheck closures from October 26 and the temporary stops before November 1. After November 8, this is coverage of the 2026 fair, not a guide to a future edition.
