Air France Nashville and San Diego flights: 2027 guide
Air France plans to start nonstop flights from Paris Charles de Gaulle to San Diego on May 3, 2027, and to Nashville on May 14, 2027. Each route is scheduled three times a week with an Airbus A350-900.
Tickets are not due to go on sale until October 14, 2026. The routes are announced for the summer 2027 season and have not operated yet, so use the schedule below to plan, then confirm the date, aircraft and fare conditions when booking opens.

The practical answer: Air France says both CDG routes will operate on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. San Diego starts first on May 3, followed by Nashville on May 14. Wait for sales to open on October 14 before treating a fare, seat map or connection as available.
This guide was checked on October 8, 2026, the day Air France published its announcement.
Two new US routes, with different start dates
Air France's October 8 announcement is the controlling source for the current plan.
| Route | Planned start | Days | Aircraft | Sale date |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Paris CDG to San Diego SAN | May 3, 2027 | Monday, Wednesday, Friday | Airbus A350-900 | October 14, 2026 |
| Paris CDG to Nashville BNA | May 14, 2027 | Monday, Wednesday, Friday | Airbus A350-900 | October 14, 2026 |
Air France calls both routes nonstop. It says it will be the only airline flying nonstop from Paris to either city and the only airline linking Nashville with continental Europe nonstop. KLM's San Diego to Amsterdam flight is a separate service.
The announcement describes a summer season running from April through October 2027, but it does not give the last operating date for either route. Do not infer an October return date or year-round service from the announcement. Check the exact travel date after sales open.
Early schedule reports appeared before Air France published the release. Some listed May 17 for San Diego and AF038/AF039 for Nashville. Air France's own announcement now says May 3 and AF046/AF047, so those are the details used here.
The published timetable gives each route three weekly flights
All times below are local. The eastbound flights reach Paris the following calendar day.
| Flight | Route | Departure | Arrival |
|---|---|---|---|
| AF058 | Paris CDG to San Diego SAN | 10:10 a.m. | 12:50 p.m. the same day |
| AF059 | San Diego SAN to Paris CDG | 3:10 p.m. | 11:05 a.m. the next day |
| AF046 | Paris CDG to Nashville BNA | 2:10 p.m. | 4:40 p.m. the same day |
| AF047 | Nashville BNA to Paris CDG | 6:55 p.m. | 10:15 a.m. the next day |
The Monday, Wednesday and Friday pattern leaves no next-day Air France departure on this route after every disruption. If the trip depends on a cruise, wedding, concert or separate flight, leave recovery time rather than arriving just before the fixed event.
The Nashville flight number is deliberate. Air France says AF046 refers to 1946, the birth year of Dolly Parton. That is a route detail, not a guarantee that the number or timetable cannot change before May.
The A350 cabin still needs a booking-level check
Air France lists the Airbus A350-900 for both routes. Its current A350 seat-map page shows more than one configuration, including 292-seat and 324-seat layouts with Business, Premium and Economy cabins.
That means the aircraft family alone does not identify an exact seat. Check the seat map attached to the flight after booking, especially when choosing a pair, a bassinet position or an extra-legroom option. Aircraft assignments and seat maps can change before departure.
The same caution applies to onboard internet. Air France is rolling out different Wi-Fi products across its fleet, but an OpenSim plan is for supported mobile networks on the ground. It does not replace inflight Wi-Fi and should remain off while the phone is connected to aircraft systems.
Check the baggage line before choosing a fare
Air France's current cabin baggage policy says an Economy fare includes zero or one cabin bag, depending on the fare, plus one small bag. The combined cabin weight limit is 12 kg. Premium permits two cabin bags plus a small bag within the same 12 kg combined limit. Business and La Premiere permit two cabin bags plus a small bag, up to 18 kg combined.
For departures from the United States, TSA rules limit the passenger to one cabin bag and one small bag. The cabin bag can measure up to 55 by 35 by 25 cm, and the small bag up to 40 by 30 by 15 cm.
Checked baggage is also fare-specific. Air France's US fee page currently lists Economy as zero or one checked piece up to 23 kg, while higher cabins have different allowances. Read the baggage line on the exact Nashville or San Diego fare before paying. A general cabin rule does not add a checked bag to a Basic fare.
Plan three hours at the airport unless the booking says otherwise
Air France's check-in page says online check-in generally opens 30 hours before departure. If the boarding pass does not show a recommended arrival time, the airline advises arriving three hours before an international flight.
The check-in and bag-drop deadline varies by airport and itinerary. Air France's conditions allow the booking to be cancelled when a passenger misses the applicable deadline. Use the deadline shown in the trip, not a generic number copied from another airport.
At Nashville, rideshare pickup is in the Ground Transportation Center on Level 1 of Terminal Garage 2. BNA's official transport page also lists taxis, WeGo public transit, shuttles and rental cars. At San Diego, the airport's public transportation page lists the free San Diego Flyer to Old Town Transit Center and a terminal shuttle connection toward the trolley. Recheck operating hours for the actual arrival.
A single ticket is safer for a Paris connection
A nonstop to Paris may also be the first leg to another city. If Air France sells the onward flight on the same ticket, follow the connection route and minimum time shown in that itinerary. At CDG, the terminal path, passport control and security depend on the arriving and departing countries.
Air France's Paris connection guide directs passengers through the formalities for their itinerary. Check the destination printed on the bag tag at Nashville or San Diego rather than assuming where the bag will go.
Separate tickets change the risk. A traveler may need to enter France, collect bags, move terminals, check in again and clear security before the second airline's deadline. The second airline is not automatically responsible when a late Air France arrival causes a missed separate flight. Build a much larger buffer or book one protected itinerary.
Check the entry rule for the passport and full itinerary
The flight ticket does not grant entry. For US passport holders visiting France, the US State Department currently says tourism or business stays of up to 90 days in the Schengen area do not require a visa, subject to passport and other entry requirements. It also says the passport should remain valid for at least three months beyond the planned Schengen departure.
For eligible travelers entering the United States under the Visa Waiver Program, US Customs and Border Protection says an approved ESTA is required before travel, but approval does not guarantee admission. Other nationalities or trip purposes can require a visa.
These flights start in 2027, so recheck the official rule for the traveler's nationality, purpose and connection countries before departure. Do not rely on an October 2026 entry summary for a May 2027 trip.
Ground data for Nashville, San Diego and Paris
An OpenSim United States eSIM can provide ground mobile data in Nashville or San Diego for flight messages, maps and airport transport. An OpenSim France eSIM is the direct option for a stay in Paris, while an OpenSim Europe eSIM can suit an itinerary that continues across several listed countries.
The live catalog was checked on October 8 and listed current packages for both the United States and France. Choose by the allowance, validity, activation rule, network and top-up status on the plan card. Some daily packages continue at reduced speed after the high-speed allowance, and not every package is reloadable.
Install while reliable Wi-Fi is available, then follow the selected plan's activation instructions. Our guides explain when to install an eSIM, how to check phone compatibility and how much travel data to plan.
Ten questions about the new Air France flights
When do Air France flights to San Diego start?
Air France says the Paris to San Diego route starts May 3, 2027. It is planned for Monday, Wednesday and Friday, subject to the live schedule after tickets go on sale.
When do Air France flights to Nashville start?
The Nashville route is planned to start May 14, 2027. It also has a Monday, Wednesday and Friday schedule.
When can I book the new flights?
Air France says tickets go on sale October 14, 2026. A result displayed before then may be incomplete or based on an earlier schedule filing, so confirm the operating carrier, flight number and date when sales formally open.
Are the Nashville and San Diego routes seasonal?
Air France announced them for its summer 2027 season, which it describes as April through October. It has not published the final operating date for either route, so do not assume they run year-round or through every day in October.
What are the Nashville flight numbers?
The current Air France announcement lists AF046 from Paris to Nashville and AF047 from Nashville to Paris. Earlier reservation-system reports used different numbers, which is why the airline's dated release is the better current source.
Is the San Diego flight a regular service or a special charter?
This is announced as a regular three-weekly summer route. Air France has operated limited San Diego flights around events before, but the May 2027 schedule is a separate planned service with AF058 and AF059.
Which Air France A350 cabin will operate?
Air France says the aircraft will be an A350-900, but it has multiple seat layouts. The booking's seat map is the useful source for the cabin configuration and selected seat, and it can still change.
What bags does my Air France fare include?
It depends on the cabin and fare. Economy can include zero or one cabin bag and zero or one checked bag, while other cabins have different allowances. Read the exact fare conditions before purchase and the issued booking before packing.
Can I connect beyond Paris on the same ticket?
Yes, when Air France offers the onward destination as one itinerary. Check the minimum connection, terminal path and final bag-tag destination. A separate ticket is a self-transfer unless the airlines explicitly confirm otherwise.
Can one OpenSim plan cover Paris and another European country?
A current Europe plan can cover France and the other countries listed on that specific plan. Check the coverage list before purchase because regional products do not all contain the same destinations. A United States plan is separate unless a selected regional or global package explicitly includes both markets.
What to check when sales open
- Match the route to CDG, BNA or SAN.
- Use May 3 for the announced San Diego start and May 14 for Nashville.
- Confirm Monday, Wednesday or Friday availability on the exact date.
- Read the local arrival date for the overnight flight to Paris.
- Compare the total fare after bags, seats and change conditions.
- Inspect the seat map rather than assuming one A350 layout.
- Keep a large buffer before a separate flight or fixed event.
- Check passport, ESTA or visa rules for the traveler's nationality.
- Save the itinerary and ground transport details offline.
- Recheck the schedule before leaving for the airport.
How we will update this guide
The routes, start dates, frequency, local times, flight numbers, aircraft and October 14 sale date come from Air France's October 8 announcement. Current airline pages support the baggage, check-in, A350 and Paris connection guidance. Airport and government sources support the transport and entry boundaries.
The next useful review point is October 14, when tickets are due to go on sale. We will also update the existing guide for a material timetable, flight-number, aircraft, baggage, entry or operating-status change, and after independent confirmation of the first flights in May 2027.
