Air Serbia new routes for 2027: six flights compared
Air Serbia has opened sales for six routes from Belgrade in 2027. Yerevan starts first on March 28, followed by Helsinki, Miami, Cluj-Napoca, Chisinau and Menorca through June.
The routes are not interchangeable. Some start with three or four flights a week, while Miami and Menorca are planned only twice weekly. That difference matters if a missed connection or cancellation could leave you waiting several days for the next departure.

The practical answer: All six routes are on sale, but they are future services. Use the dates and frequencies below to compare the network, then confirm the exact flight times, operating days, aircraft, fare conditions and connection protection in the booking result for your travel date.
Air Serbia's six new routes at a glance
| Route from Belgrade | Planned start | Initial frequency | What to notice |
|---|---|---|---|
| Yerevan | March 28, 2027 | Three weekly, rising to four from mid-June | The first of the six routes to start |
| Helsinki | April 1, 2027 | Three weekly | A new nonstop option between Serbia and Finland |
| Miami | May 20, 2027 | Two weekly | The least flexible route for a tight separate connection |
| Cluj-Napoca | May 31, 2027 | Four weekly | One of the two highest-frequency launches |
| Chisinau | June 3, 2027 | Four weekly | Ties Cluj-Napoca for the highest initial frequency |
| Mahon, Menorca | June 16, 2027 | Two weekly | A seasonal island route with limited recovery options |
Air Serbia names the airport in Menorca as Mahon. Mahon, airport code MAH, is the airport serving the island of Menorca. The two names in booking results describe the same destination, not separate routes.
What is confirmed and what still needs a check
The airline's sales page confirms the six destinations and shows bookable itineraries. Air Serbia's announcement also supports the planned start dates and weekly frequencies.
Air Serbia has not published one stable public table with every flight number, local time and aircraft for the full launch period. Those details can vary by date even after a route goes on sale. This guide therefore does not assign a flight number, timetable or aircraft type to any route.
Open the live booking for both directions before committing to hotels or separate flights. Check every airport, the local date on arrival, the operating carrier and any aircraft or schedule notice. A fare seen on another date is not a promise for yours.
How the routes change Belgrade trip planning
The four European additions widen Air Serbia's short-haul network from Belgrade. Yerevan adds a South Caucasus link, while Miami adds a long-haul United States route. For passengers starting outside Serbia, the useful question is not just whether a route exists. It is whether the whole itinerary works on one protected ticket.
A single booking from the origin through Belgrade to the destination normally gives the airline responsibility for rebooking after a missed protected connection. Two separate tickets usually leave that risk with the traveler. Confirm the bag tag at the first airport and ask whether it is checked to the final destination.
Twice-weekly Miami and Menorca flights deserve the largest buffer. If a separate inbound flight is late, the next scheduled departure may be days away. Three- and four-weekly services offer more options, but they still do not justify a connection that ignores baggage collection, passport control or a terminal change.
Bags and check-in depend on the fare
Air Serbia's current hand-baggage rules allow one cabin bag up to 8 kg, with maximum dimensions of 40 by 23 by 55 cm, plus one personal item up to 4 kg. The e-ticket and booking confirmation remain the controlling documents.
Economy Light does not include a checked bag under the airline's current fare table. Economy Standard and Economy Comfort include one checked bag up to 23 kg. Other cabins and connecting carriers can have different allowances, so compare the complete itinerary rather than applying one Air Serbia segment's rule to every flight.
Online check-in normally opens 48 hours before departure, but availability and closing times depend on the airport and route. For a new service, check the airline's current page again before travel instead of relying on a saved screenshot.
Connecting in Belgrade
Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport, code BEG, is Air Serbia's hub. A through ticket may keep a checked bag moving to the final airport, but this is not automatic for every itinerary. Visa or entry requirements, a separate ticket, an overnight stop or a carrier change can require a landside process.
Do not use another passenger's connection time as a guarantee. The workable buffer depends on whether you hold one ticket, have a checked bag, need passport control and can use online check-in for the next flight. If the onward departure is only twice weekly, the cost of missing it is more important than saving an hour at the airport.
Air Serbia's conditions also make sequence important. Missing a booked segment without contacting the airline can affect later segments in the same ticket. Ask the airline to change the booking rather than simply skipping a flight.
Arrival planning for Miami and the European routes
Miami passengers arriving from Belgrade must follow current United States entry, immigration, customs and baggage procedures. If the journey continues on a separate ticket, leave enough time to enter the country, retrieve luggage when required and reach the next check-in point. Miami International Airport publishes a connection guide, but the operating airlines set the final baggage and cutoff rules.
For Helsinki, Cluj-Napoca, Chisinau, Yerevan and Menorca, check the arrival airport's ground transport close to travel. A late arrival can turn a workable daytime bus or rail plan into a taxi or overnight stay. Menorca also has a seasonal travel pattern, so do not assume every local service runs at the same frequency in June and outside peak summer.
Mobile data for Belgrade and the new routes
OpenSim's live catalog had a Serbia eSIM, a Europe eSIM, a United States eSIM and an Armenia eSIM when this guide was reviewed.
The Europe plan's current coverage includes Serbia, Finland, Romania and Spain, which can suit Belgrade, Helsinki, Cluj-Napoca and Menorca in one itinerary. It does not cover every new route: Moldova, Armenia and the United States need separate coverage checks or destination plans. Never infer coverage from the product name alone.
Compare the live country list, data allowance, validity, speed policy, hotspot terms and top-up eligibility before checkout. Not every package is reloadable. Install the selected eSIM over reliable Wi-Fi and follow the package's activation rule. An eSIM provides mobile data on supported ground networks, not aircraft Wi-Fi.
Ten questions about Air Serbia's new 2027 routes
Are all six Air Serbia routes on sale?
Yes. Air Serbia's current sales page lists bookable journeys for Yerevan, Helsinki, Miami, Cluj-Napoca, Chisinau and Menorca. Future schedules can change, so verify the selected date before making non-refundable plans.
When does Air Serbia's Miami route start?
The first Belgrade to Miami flight is planned for May 20, 2027. The airline plans two flights a week.
Is Miami Air Serbia's first route to the United States?
No. Air Serbia already serves the United States. Miami is a new destination in its network, not its first US route.
When do Helsinki flights start?
Belgrade to Helsinki is planned from April 1, 2027, with three flights a week.
Which of the six routes starts first?
Yerevan starts first, on March 28, 2027. It is planned three times weekly at launch and four times weekly from mid-June.
Which new routes have the most flights?
Cluj-Napoca and Chisinau are each planned four times weekly from launch. Yerevan is due to increase to four weekly in mid-June.
Are Mahon and Menorca different destinations?
No. Mahon Airport, code MAH, serves Menorca. Booking tools may use either name for the same airport.
Does the cheapest Economy fare include a checked bag?
Not under Air Serbia's current fare table. Economy Light excludes checked baggage, while Economy Standard and Economy Comfort include one bag up to 23 kg. Check the fare shown for the complete itinerary.
Is a short separate-ticket connection at Belgrade safe?
There is no universal safe time. Separate tickets may require baggage collection and a new check-in, and the onward airline may not protect you after a delay. Use a larger buffer, especially before a twice-weekly flight.
Can one Europe eSIM cover all six destinations?
No. OpenSim's current Europe plan includes Serbia, Finland, Romania and Spain, but not Moldova, Armenia or the United States. Check the live coverage list for the actual itinerary.
A booking checklist
- Confirm the route is operating on your exact travel date.
- Compare both directions because times and operating days can differ.
- Check the flight number, aircraft and operating carrier in the live booking.
- Read the fare's baggage, seat, change and refund terms.
- Confirm whether every segment is on one protected ticket.
- Ask where checked baggage will be delivered.
- Allow more time before Miami and Menorca's twice-weekly flights.
- Check entry documents and arrival procedures with official authorities.
- Save the itinerary, address and essential documents offline.
- Recheck the schedule, check-in window and ground transport before departure.
