Arajet has scheduled the return of nonstop flights between Punta Cana and Guayaquil from October 5, 2026. The service is planned twice a week in each direction, with late-night departures and next-day arrivals.

The first Punta Cana departure was still scheduled for later on October 5 when this guide was reviewed. This is a launch-day planning guide, not confirmation that the inaugural flight has operated. Check Arajet's live flight status and the issued itinerary before leaving for the airport.

The practical answer: Arajet plans PUJ to GYE on Monday and Friday as DM6780, with departure around 22:14 or 23:17. GYE to PUJ is scheduled Tuesday and Saturday as DM6781 at 03:18. Times can change by date, so use the airline itinerary rather than a weekly summary for a specific trip.

The planned Arajet schedule

Arajet's Guayaquil return page lists travel from October 5, including a direct Punta Cana-Guayaquil option. Current schedule data reviewed on October 5 gives this pattern:

DirectionFlightPlanned daysTypical local timing
Punta Cana (PUJ) to Guayaquil (GYE)DM6780Monday and Friday22:14 or 23:17 to 01:12 or 02:15 next day
Guayaquil (GYE) to Punta Cana (PUJ)DM6781Tuesday and Saturday03:18 to 08:03, with some later arrival times

The date matters. For example, the October 5 flight is scheduled to leave Punta Cana at 23:17 and arrive in Guayaquil at 02:15 on October 6. The October 6 return is scheduled from Guayaquil at 03:18 to Punta Cana at 08:03.

Punta Cana is one hour ahead of Guayaquil in October. The clock therefore makes the westbound trip look shorter than its scheduled elapsed time. Current filings put each nonstop at roughly three hours 45 minutes to three hours 58 minutes.

Two flights a week provide limited recovery room. A missed Monday flight from Punta Cana does not imply another nonstop on Tuesday. Before paying for a separate hotel, domestic flight or tour, check the next acceptable option and the cancellation terms for every booking.

This is a route return, not a first-ever service

Arajet previously operated between Ecuador and the Dominican Republic before suspending Ecuador service in November 2025. Local reporting and the airline's current sale page describe October 2026 as the route's return.

That distinction matters when reading old schedules. A timetable or review from the earlier operation does not prove the current departure time, fare bundle or airport process. Use current booking results, the issued itinerary and live status for travel after October 5, 2026.

The schedule currently lists Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. Arajet can substitute equipment, so the seat map and operating details shown for the booked flight remain more useful than the route-level aircraft listing.

Plan around the overnight timing

The westbound flight reaches Guayaquil in the early hours. Confirm that a hotel, host or driver will accept a pickup after 01:00 or 02:00. Save the address and contact number offline before departure.

For an onward domestic flight, leave enough time to clear immigration, collect checked baggage and complete the next airline's check-in. A separate ticket is not automatically protected if DM6780 is delayed. Guayaquil Airport's official site carries current arrivals, departures and airport information.

The GYE to PUJ departure is also overnight. A 03:18 flight requires an airport plan for the previous evening, not a morning commute. Confirm when the Arajet desk accepts bags and build extra time for document checks. Do not rely on an online boarding pass to remove an airport deadline.

Passengers connecting beyond Punta Cana should check whether the complete journey is on one ticket. A route being sold in the same search does not prove through-checked baggage, protected rebooking or permission to remain airside. Ask for the final bag-tag destination at check-in.

Match baggage to the fare bundle

Arajet's current bundle table has four options. Basic includes a personal item but not a carry-on or checked bag. Classic adds a carry-on. Comfort adds a checked bag but still treats a carry-on separately. Extra includes both.

The baggage page lists these current limits for most of the network:

  • Personal item: up to 40 by 25 by 20 cm and 6 kg.
  • Carry-on: up to 56 by 46 by 25 cm and 12 kg when included or purchased.
  • Checked bag: up to 158 cm in total linear dimensions and 23 kg when included or purchased.

Buying the cheapest headline fare and adding bags later can change the trip total. Compare the complete basket, including bags and seats, before payment. Save receipts for every extra and check that the service appears in Manage Booking.

Complete the Dominican Republic e-ticket

The Dominican Republic's official entry guidance says passengers entering or leaving on commercial flights must complete the free electronic entry and exit form at eticket.migracion.gob.do.

The form can be completed once flight details are available, and the government says it must be ready before reaching the airline counter. Save the confirmation QR code offline. The e-ticket is an immigration and customs form, not an airline ticket or a visa.

Entry permission depends on nationality and status. The Dominican Republic currently has a passport-validity exception for Ecuadorian tourists through December 31, 2026, but travelers should still check the official rule for their own passport and travel date. Foreign tourists generally also need proof of onward or return travel.

For Ecuador, follow the link for current Ecuador requirements on Arajet's travel requirements page and verify government rules for the traveler's nationality. A previous entry or residence in another country does not establish eligibility.

Mobile data at either end of the route

For a Guayaquil stay, compare the Ecuador OpenSim eSIM. For Punta Cana, compare the Dominican Republic OpenSim eSIM.

The live catalog had destination plans for both countries when checked on October 5. Check the exact plan's data allowance, validity, supported networks, hotspot terms, speed policy and top-up field before paying. Do not assume that every package is reloadable or that a country plan covers the other end of the route.

An eSIM supplies data on supported ground networks. It does not provide inflight Wi-Fi, change border rules, protect a separate-ticket connection or guarantee coverage in every building. Install it on reliable Wi-Fi and keep the setup instructions available offline.

Ten questions about Arajet's Punta Cana-Guayaquil flights

When are the Arajet Punta Cana-Guayaquil flights scheduled to start?

The first PUJ to GYE departure is scheduled for October 5, 2026. At the review cutoff it had not yet operated, so check live status for confirmation.

Which days does Punta Cana to Guayaquil operate?

Arajet plans DM6780 on Monday and Friday. The departure time varies by date, with current October listings around 22:14 or 23:17 local time.

Which days does Guayaquil to Punta Cana operate?

DM6781 is scheduled on Tuesday and Saturday, currently leaving Guayaquil at 03:18. Confirm the date-specific arrival time in the booking.

Is the PUJ-GYE flight nonstop?

Yes. The current schedule lists DM6780 and DM6781 as nonstop flights between Punta Cana and Guayaquil.

Why does the arrival date change?

Both directions operate overnight. The Dominican Republic is also one hour ahead of mainland Ecuador in October, so local clock times do not equal elapsed flight time.

Is a carry-on included with every Arajet fare?

No. Basic includes only a personal item. Classic and Extra include a carry-on, while Comfort includes a checked bag but lists the carry-on as an extra.

How large can the included personal item be?

Arajet currently lists a 40 by 25 by 20 cm limit and a 6 kg maximum for this part of its network. It must fit under the seat.

Is the Dominican Republic e-ticket required for this route?

Yes for commercial entry or departure. Complete the free official form before the airline counter and save its QR-code confirmation.

Will Arajet transfer my bag to a connecting flight?

Do not assume it. Check whether the journey is on one ticket and ask where the bag is tagged. Separate tickets normally require more time and may require bag collection and a new check-in.

What should I do if the schedule changes?

Check the reservation directly with Arajet, keep contact details current and review the available rebooking or refund terms before canceling anything yourself. Keep separate bookings flexible because the route operates only twice a week.

Before leaving for the airport

  • Confirm that the selected flight is operating.
  • Match the direction to the correct weekday and local date.
  • Check the date-specific time, not only the weekly pattern.
  • Compare the full fare including bags and seats.
  • Save receipts for paid extras.
  • Complete the correct government entry form.
  • Check passport and visa rules for the traveler.
  • Confirm whether an onward journey is one ticket.
  • Arrange an overnight airport transfer when needed.
  • Save the itinerary, QR code and pickup details offline.

The restored nonstop removes a connection between Guayaquil and Punta Cana, but the overnight schedule and twice-weekly pattern leave little room for assumptions. Verify the live flight, the fare's bag allowance and the arrival plan before travel.

*Airline, government, airport, schedule and OpenSim catalog details were reviewed on October 5, 2026. Update this guide after the inaugural operation is independently confirmed, or after a material timetable, frequency, aircraft, baggage, entry or route-status change.*
