Flow Festival 2026 guide: map, wristbands and transport

Flow Festival takes place at Suvilahti in Helsinki from Friday, August 14 to Sunday, August 16, 2026. The useful last-minute news is not another lineup announcement. The 2026 area map was released on August 10, two major stages have moved, wristband exchange is separate from the main-gate queue, and HSL changed most local timetables on the same day.

If you are arriving from abroad, settle three things before Friday: save the new map, choose the correct wristband point and check the final journey in HSL for the date and time you will travel. An old Flow map or an airport route saved before August 10 may now give you the wrong assumption.

This guide was checked on August 10, 2026. Ticket inventory, weather and transport can change quickly during event week, so reopen the linked organizer and HSL pages before leaving.

The short answer: exchange your ticket before joining the main-gate queue, use the new 2026 map, and do not promise yourself a late Metro until the HSL Journey Planner shows that trip. Friday and Saturday finish at 02:00, there is no parking beside the site, and Tallinn is a ferry journey rather than a road transfer to Helsinki.

Flow Festival 2026 at a glance

Use the map released on August 10

Flow released the current area map four days before opening. It is worth replacing every older screenshot because the venue arrangement has changed.

• Silver Arena has moved to the former Black Tent field.
• Black Tent is now in Hanasaari beside Front Yard.
• Lanson Champagne Bar & Lounge occupies the former Silver Arena area.
• The new map marks stages, restaurants, bars, water points, toilets and other services.

Open the official area page and save its current map to the phone. The Flow app also carries the map. If one artist matters more than the rest of the day, identify the previous stage and the walking route before the gates open.

This is also why advice based on a previous Flow visit can be sincere and still be wrong. Ask friends to share the 2026 pin or venue name, not "where Black Tent was last year."

Current ticket status and official sellers

The official ticket page still listed standard multi-day options when checked on August 10, but several categories were close to capacity or sold out. The three-day standard ticket was marked almost gone. Friday and Saturday standard day tickets were sold out, while some two-day and Sunday options remained visible.

Do not build a trip from that snapshot. Check the live Flow ticket page and continue only through its Ticketmaster or Tiketti links. A search result can show an older inventory label after the organizer changes it.

Every ticket must be exchanged for a wristband. A ticket purchaser's name does not stop another adult from using the ticket, but the person attending must collect the wristband personally, have it fitted to the left wrist and show official ID if asked. One-day tickets cannot be combined into a two-day or three-day wristband.

Wristband exchange is not at the main gate

This is the easiest avoidable mistake. At Suvilahti, the wristband queue begins on the Sörnäisten Rantatie side. The main-gate queue begins on the Hanasaarenkatu side. The organizer explicitly says there is no wristband exchange at the main gate.

Suvilahti is at Hanasaarenkatu 10. Lasipalatsi is at Lasipalatsinaukio in the city center. The organizer expects Suvilahti to be crowded early Friday evening, so exchanging in advance is useful if the arrival schedule permits it.

A visitor landing late Friday can exchange at Suvilahti on Saturday from 11:00. Lasipalatsi is not a Saturday fallback. Read the current wristband page again before travel because temporary points and hours are event-specific.

The wristband allows leaving and returning during its validity. Keep it attached. Another person cannot collect it on your behalf, and an unattached wristband is not valid for entry.

From Helsinki Airport to the festival

Helsinki Airport is in HSL zone C and central Helsinki is in zone A. HSL says an ABC ticket covers the airport-to-center trip and remains valid across HSL transport for its stated validity. The I and P trains connect the airport and center in roughly 30 minutes, with the station directly below the terminal.

The important 2026 detail is timing. HSL switched most services to winter timetables on August 10. It says Ring Rail service largely returned to normal that day, but Malminkartano station remains closed. Search the actual arrival in the HSL Journey Planner instead of following a summer-service screenshot.

A practical route is airport train to central Helsinki, followed by the Metro or another HSL connection toward Suvilahti. The exact transfer depends on the hotel, wristband plan and service status. Buy the required zones before boarding and keep the ticket valid through the whole connection.

From central Helsinki to Suvilahti

The festival is in HSL zone AB. The closest Metro stations are Sörnäinen and Kalasatama. The organizer also lists Suvilahti and Sörnäinen bus stops, plus tram stops at Sörnäinen, Lintulahti, Helsinginkatu and Kaarlenkatu.

There is no car parking at the site or in its immediate surroundings. Driving to the address and hoping to find a curb is not a transport plan. The organizer provides free unguarded bicycle parking, while drivers need to use a legal facility farther away and continue on foot or by public transport.

HSL's tram and bus timetables changed on August 10. Save the gate address, but let the Journey Planner choose the current stop and connection. Check the route again after the final set because disruptions and additional event service, if announced, belong to HSL rather than an old blog post.

Do not assume the Metro runs after 02:00

Friday and Saturday programming ends at 02:00. At the time of this review, HSL had not published a current English Flow-specific notice promising extended Metro hours for 2026. The organizer's search page directs visitors to HSL for additional service details.

Plan the return journey before entering:

1. Search the HSL trip for the correct date after midnight.
2. Save one public-transport route and one taxi pickup plan.
3. Agree on a meeting point outside the densest gate area.
4. Keep a physical payment card separate from the phone.
5. Leave enough battery for the final route, not only the festival app.

Do not copy a 2025 late-Metro time into a 2026 itinerary. If HSL publishes an event notice after this guide, its current page takes priority.

Tallinn Airport is not a highway transfer to Helsinki

One prominent planning guide says a taxi or rental car can travel from Tallinn Airport to Suvilahti by highway in about 1 hour 27 minutes. Tallinn is in Estonia, across the Gulf of Finland. There is no continuous road from Tallinn to Helsinki.

The official Flow travel page correctly lists ferry services to Helsinki and says a Baltic FlixBus journey includes the Tallinn ferry crossing. A traveler flying to Tallinn needs an airport-to-port leg, a booked ferry or through ticket, arrival at the correct Helsinki terminal and a final local connection to the hotel or Suvilahti.

That route can be a deliberate part of a wider trip. It is not a substitute for flying into Helsinki without checking ferry schedules, check-in cutoffs, terminal locations and the time needed between separate tickets.

Where to stay for Flow Festival

Choose a district from the journeys you expect to make, not from a generic list of Helsinki hotels.

Check the final after-midnight route before booking outside central Helsinki. A lower room rate in another municipality can disappear into taxi costs and waiting time after 02:00.

Build a schedule that survives a moved stage

The official schedule lets visitors create a My Flow account and save artists. The app can send reminders before selected sets. That helps, but a notification is not a reserved space at the front.

Current first-time visitors are asking how early to arrive for a front position. There is no organizer guarantee. The sensible decision depends on the venue, artist and the set immediately before it. Use the new map, avoid a cross-site sprint and reach a high-priority stage before the previous crowd begins moving.

Flow has ten venues in the current area description, including large outdoor and tent stages plus smaller spaces. Tiivistämö becomes a lower-sensory space in the evening. Use it as an intentional break rather than waiting until the phone and the group are both exhausted.

Bottles, bags, rain gear and cameras

Flow allows small snacks and one empty, non-glass, non-deposit bottle up to one liter. Fill it at a water point after entry. A bottle containing water or another drink is not allowed through security.

Chargers, laptops, tablets, small cool boxes without cool packs, medicine in original packaging and folding camping chairs are on the current allowed list. Cameras are permitted, including DSLR and SLR bodies, but tripods and lenses over 100 mm are not.

Leave these behind:

• filled drinks and outside alcohol;
• glass, deposit bottles and bottles over one liter;
• umbrellas;
• aerosol products, including aerosol sunscreen;
• selfie sticks, GoPro sticks and tripods;
• drones, laser pointers and multitools;
• large flags or signs over A4 size;
• pets other than guide dogs.

Helsinki weather can change during a long outdoor day, but an umbrella is prohibited. Take a compact hooded waterproof layer and check the Finnish Meteorological Institute forecast close to departure. Do not rely on a seasonal average as a forecast for Friday night.

Flow is cashless, but keep a card backup

Festival restaurants and bars do not accept cash. The organizer lists debit cards, credit cards, Visa Electron, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Nordea Wallet.

A phone wallet is convenient until a battery dies, a bank requests verification or a terminal cannot read the device. Carry a physical card that works internationally and keep it separate from the phone. Check foreign transaction and currency-conversion terms with the issuer before travel.

Flow also uses a deposit system for festival drink containers. Return points refund deposits by card, and the organizer caps a refund transaction at EUR 30. A bottle brought from outside does not qualify for that refund.

Accessibility and assistance

The organizer describes the site as mostly paved with a flat, solid walking environment, while also noting gravel and raised areas. Main Stage, Silver Arena and Black Tent have accessible viewing platforms with seating. The site has rest areas, and all toilet groups include an accessible toilet.

An assistant or interpreter accompanying someone who needs assistance enters free and does not need a separate ticket or wristband. The organizer does not require proof, though it says an EU Disability Card can make a nonvisible need easier to communicate. Guide and assistance dogs are welcome.

The accessibility page still says more 2026 detail will be published later. Contact the organizer for an individual route, lowered service counter, sensory or medical requirement rather than assuming a broad accessibility statement answers it. Save the current accessibility page and check the new map before arrival.

Family Sunday is the only under-18 exception

Flow is otherwise 18+. On Sunday, an adult holding a ticket that includes Sunday may bring children aged 12 or younger between 13:00 and 17:00. Children must leave by 18:00. Strollers, baby formula and purees are allowed during this exception.

That is a narrow timed rule, not a general family ticket. Confirm the child's age evidence, the adult's ticket and the exit plan before entering. The adult remains responsible for matching the family schedule to the published window.

Useful apps and files

The HSL and Flow apps solve different problems. Flow owns the site and schedule. HSL owns public transport. A social post may help someone find company, but it should not be the only source for a gate, ticket, ferry or final train.

Mobile data for Flow Festival and Helsinki

A Roaming eSIM cannot guarantee mobile capacity inside a packed stage area. Save the area map, hotel address, wristband hours, ticket confirmation and meeting point offline even when a data plan is active.
