IndiGo's first scheduled flight from Gaya to Bangkok reached Suvarnabhumi Airport on October 26, 2026. The new nonstop operates on Monday and Thursday as 6E1083, with 6E1084 returning from Bangkok on the same days.

The launch matters most to travelers whose dates fit a twice-weekly service. Check the issued itinerary before arranging a hotel, pickup or separate connection because the first flight used different scheduled times from IndiGo's original route announcement.

The short answer: IndiGo now flies nonstop between Gaya (GAY) and Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (BKK). Its route announcement lists 6E1083 and 6E1084 on Monday and Thursday. Keep the issued itinerary because the first outbound flight used different scheduled times from the airline's original table.

This guide was checked on October 28, 2026. A completed first flight does not guarantee that every later service will use the same minute or operate as planned.

What has changed for Gaya and Bangkok travelers

IndiGo announced the new route for October 26 and published a Monday and Thursday pattern. An independent flight record shows 6E1083 departing Gaya at 12:28 p.m. on launch day and reaching Bangkok at 4:51 p.m., nine minutes before its recorded 5 p.m. schedule.

That operating record settles the launch question. It also exposes a timing difference travelers should not ignore:

FlightDirectionIndiGo's announced local timesDays
6E1083Gaya to Bangkok1:15 p.m. to 5:50 p.m.Monday and Thursday
6E1084Bangkok to Gaya10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.Monday and Thursday

The airline's announcement remains the primary source for the recurring pattern. The first operation, however, was recorded with a 12:10 p.m. scheduled departure and 5 p.m. scheduled arrival. Search the exact travel date on IndiGo, keep the confirmation and check flight status again before leaving for the airport.

GAY is Gaya Airport in Bihar. BKK is Suvarnabhumi Airport, not Bangkok's Don Mueang Airport (DMK). Current route listings also show other nonstop airlines between Gaya and Bangkok, so IndiGo adds a new choice rather than creating the only nonstop link.

Build the trip around the two operating days

Monday and Thursday service offers less recovery room than a daily route. If a change would affect an international connection, prepaid tour or pilgrimage schedule, check what can be moved before buying the least flexible option.

For a separate ticket at BKK, find out whether you must enter Thailand, collect bags and check in again. Do not assume the second airline will protect the connection if 6E1083 arrives late. The same principle applies when positioning to Gaya on a separate domestic ticket.

Compare the airport codes, operating carrier, local dates and baggage line before payment. A third-party itinerary can display a convenient connection without making it a protected through journey.

Check in early and use the ticket's baggage allowance

IndiGo recommends arriving four hours before an international departure. Its current airport guidance says international check-in counters close 75 minutes before departure and gates close 25 minutes before departure. The gate time on the boarding pass and any airport announcement still control on the day.

The airline publishes general international baggage allowances, but the fare, route and issued ticket decide what is included. Read the booking's checked-bag weight, cabin-bag limit and piece rules. Add any required bag through the airline's official booking manager rather than relying on a general route summary.

Travelers connecting on separate tickets should also ask whether bags can be tagged through. If they cannot, allow for immigration, baggage collection, customs and a fresh check-in.

Prepare the right arrival forms

Thailand's official Digital Arrival Card FAQ says non-Thai nationals entering Thailand must submit a TDAC within three days before arrival, including the arrival date. The form is free, children need a record, and the confirmation should be saved. TDAC is not a visa, so passport-specific entry permission remains a separate check.

Use the official TDAC guidance, not a paid copycat. Our Thailand visa exemption guide explains the current short-stay system, but the relevant Thai authority should decide an individual passport case.

For the return to Gaya, India's official portal says foreign nationals and OCI cardholders can submit the free e-Arrival Card within 72 hours before arrival. It is also not a visa. Indian citizens returning home should follow the airline and immigration document requirements that apply to them rather than using foreign-national guidance.

Plan the trip from Suvarnabhumi Airport

The official Suvarnabhumi guide lists the Airport Rail Link from the basement level and public taxis from level 1. Follow the airport's current signs and transport page because service hours, pickup zones and queues can change.

Landing time is not curb time. Allow for passport control, baggage and customs before a train, taxi, hotel pickup or onward flight. Share BKK and the final arrival details with anyone meeting you.

Use mobile data on both sides of the route

An India eSIM suits a trip that needs data around Gaya, while a Thailand eSIM covers the Bangkok side. Travelers who want one plan for both countries can compare Asia 20 Areas, whose current coverage list includes India and Thailand.

Check the selected card's allowance, validity, hotspot rule, activation timing and top-up status before purchase. Not every package is reloadable. The phone must also be unlocked and eSIM compatible.

Download the itinerary, TDAC confirmation, accommodation address and airline contacts for offline use. An eSIM provides mobile data after landing. It does not provide inflight Wi-Fi, change a visa decision or protect a missed connection.

Ten questions about IndiGo's Gaya to Bangkok flights

When did IndiGo's Gaya to Bangkok flights start?

The first scheduled 6E1083 operated on October 26, 2026. A flight record shows it departed Gaya and landed at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi that day.

Which days do 6E1083 and 6E1084 operate?

IndiGo's route announcement lists both flights on Monday and Thursday. Search the exact date because a twice-weekly pattern can change during a seasonal timetable.

What are the current Gaya to Bangkok flight times?

IndiGo announced 6E1083 at 1:15 p.m. to 5:50 p.m. and 6E1084 at 10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., in local time. The first outbound flight was scheduled differently, so use the time on the current booking.

Is IndiGo the only nonstop airline between Gaya and Bangkok?

No. Current route listings show other nonstop operators on the city pair. Compare the airline, Bangkok airport, date and fare conditions instead of assuming every direct result is the IndiGo service.

Which Bangkok airport does IndiGo use?

The route uses Suvarnabhumi Airport, code BKK. It does not use Don Mueang Airport, code DMK.

How early should I arrive at Gaya Airport?

IndiGo recommends arriving four hours before an international flight. Its current guidance says the counter closes 75 minutes before departure, but passengers should follow the earlier instruction shown on their booking or issued at the airport.

What baggage is included on the Gaya to Bangkok flight?

The allowance depends on the fare and ticket. Check the booking for checked weight, piece count and cabin limits before adding bags or traveling to the airport.

Do I need a TDAC before flying to Bangkok?

Non-Thai nationals entering Thailand need the free TDAC within the official three-day window. It is an arrival card, not a visa, and each traveler's passport-specific entry rules still apply.

What should I complete before flying from Bangkok to Gaya?

Foreign nationals and OCI cardholders can complete India's free e-Arrival Card within 72 hours before arrival. They must separately hold the passport, visa, eVisa, OCI status or other entry permission their trip requires.

Can one eSIM cover India and Thailand?

Yes, if the chosen regional plan's current coverage includes both countries. Asia 20 Areas currently lists India and Thailand, but travelers should still check the specific plan's data, validity, hotspot and activation rules.

Evidence behind this Gaya route guide

The launch date, operating days, flight numbers and published timetable come from IndiGo's route announcement. The completed first operation and its different times were checked against the 6E1083 flight record.

Check-in guidance comes from IndiGo. Arrival-form guidance comes from Thailand's Immigration Bureau and India's Bureau of Immigration. Airport transport comes from Airports of Thailand. We will update this page after a material timetable, frequency, flight-number, baggage, entry or operating-status change.
