JetBlue BlueFirst is now bookable on select flights across more than 30 routes. The airline plans to operate its first revenue BlueFirst flight from Boston to Fort Lauderdale on December 8, 2026, then add select Fort Lauderdale to New York LaGuardia flights within days. The published rollout continues through April 2027.

BlueFirst is JetBlue's new first-class product for aircraft that do not have Mint. It is not appearing on every flight along a listed route, and the airline says aircraft assignments and schedules can change. That makes the flight-specific cabin label and seat map more useful than the route name alone.

Generic two-by-two premium aircraft cabin with navy seats and bright windows

*Original AI-generated OpenSim editorial image. It shows a generic premium cabin and does not depict JetBlue's actual BlueFirst interior.*

The practical answer: search the exact date and flight, then look for BlueFirst as the cabin or fare choice. A route's appearance in the rollout does not mean every departure has the product. Before paying, compare BlueFirst Base, BlueFirst and BlueFirst Flex for seat selection, bags, change rules and refundability.

This guide was checked at 5:58 p.m. WEST on October 15, 2026, the day JetBlue opened BlueFirst sales.

BlueFirst starts on December 8, but only on select flights

JetBlue's October 15 announcement names Boston to Fort Lauderdale on December 8 as the first revenue flight. Fort Lauderdale to LaGuardia is due to follow on select flights within days.

The airline describes the broader network as more than 30 routes. It also repeatedly uses the word "select." A traveler should not read the list as a promise that every daily frequency will have BlueFirst from the first day of a rollout month.

BlueFirst is designed for JetBlue's non-Mint aircraft. Mint remains the airline's premium product on aircraft and routes where it is sold. An equipment swap could therefore change the cabin shown for a particular flight, so recheck the reservation before travel.

JetBlue BlueFirst routes by rollout month

The following schedule reproduces the route pairs in JetBlue's launch announcement. Month labels show when BlueFirst is due to begin on select flights, not a guaranteed day for every route.

Starting monthPublished route pairs
December 2026Fort Lauderdale-Boston; Fort Lauderdale-Buffalo; Fort Lauderdale-Liberia, Costa Rica; Fort Lauderdale-LaGuardia; Fort Lauderdale-Washington Reagan
January 2027Boston-Austin; Boston-Houston; Fort Lauderdale-Aruba; Fort Lauderdale-Austin; Fort Lauderdale-Cartagena; Fort Lauderdale-Charlotte; Fort Lauderdale-Nashville; Fort Lauderdale-San Jose, Costa Rica; Fort Lauderdale-San Juan; New York JFK-Cancun; New York JFK-Liberia, Costa Rica; New York JFK-San Juan; LaGuardia-Orlando; LaGuardia-West Palm Beach
February 2027Boston-Fort Myers; Fort Lauderdale-Cancun; Fort Lauderdale-Dallas/Fort Worth; Fort Lauderdale-New Orleans; Fort Lauderdale-Hartford; Fort Lauderdale-Santo Domingo; New York JFK-Aruba; New York JFK-Fort Myers; New York JFK-Providenciales
March 2027Fort Lauderdale-Medellin; Fort Lauderdale-White Plains; White Plains-Fort Myers; White Plains-West Palm Beach
April 2027Boston-Cancun; Boston-Denver; Boston-Jacksonville; Boston-Orlando; Boston-San Juan; Boston-Tampa; Boston-West Palm Beach

If a city pair is listed but BlueFirst does not appear in search results, try the exact date and other frequencies. The flight may be outside the planned start month, assigned a different aircraft or simply not one of the selected services.

The three BlueFirst fares are not interchangeable

JetBlue is selling BlueFirst in Base, standard and Flex versions. The seat is the same product, but the booking conditions differ.

FareChecked bagsSeat selectionChange and cancellation position
BlueFirst BaseOneFree within 24 hours of departureFee applies, plus any fare difference; remaining value follows the ticket rules
BlueFirstTwoFree in advanceNo JetBlue change or cancellation fee, but fare differences and credit rules can apply
BlueFirst FlexTwoFree in advanceRefundable to the original payment method, with no fee for eligible same-day changes or standby

The fare name matters more than the word "first" when flexibility is the deciding factor. BlueFirst Base is the restrictive option and does not include advance seat selection. A family that wants adjacent seats should price the standard fare or Flex rather than assume premium-cabin seats can be chosen immediately on every ticket.

JetBlue's own fare page is the controlling source for a booking. Rules can depend on the point of sale, itinerary and ticket status, so read the conditions displayed before payment.

Launch fares have a short booking deadline

JetBlue advertised three one-way launch offers when sales opened:

  • Boston to Fort Lauderdale from $299 in either direction, for travel from December 8, 2026, through February 10, 2027.
  • LaGuardia to Fort Lauderdale from $249 in either direction, for travel from December 12, 2026, through February 10, 2027.
  • New York JFK to Liberia, Costa Rica from $299 in the JFK-to-Liberia direction, for travel from January 5 through February 10, 2027.

The promotional booking deadline is October 16, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. The Boston and LaGuardia offers exclude December 17 through January 4 and January 14 through January 18. The Costa Rica offer excludes January 14 through January 18.

The airline says the advertised fares are one-way, are subject to availability and include government taxes and fees. Optional services can still cost extra. A headline price is not evidence that a particular flight, party size or date still has that fare.

What the BlueFirst cabin includes

JetBlue describes a two-by-two layout with no middle seat. The seat has five inches of recline and up to seven inches more legroom than its comparison point, plus an adjustable headrest, calf rest and a 13.3-inch entertainment screen with Bluetooth audio support.

The airline plans premium snacks on every BlueFirst flight. A plated meal is included on flights of at least 899 miles. On shorter flights, the snack service applies rather than the plated-meal rule. Distance is the trigger in the published terms, not the scheduled duration.

BlueFirst customers receive Group 1 boarding, dedicated overhead-bin space, priority check-in and priority baggage handling. JetBlue also advertises priority security at more than 30 airports, which means it should not be assumed at every airport on the route list.

BlueFirst and Mint are different products

BlueFirst is a domestic-style first-class cabin for JetBlue aircraft without Mint. It has recliner seats in a two-by-two layout. Mint is JetBlue's lie-flat premium product and remains separate.

The distinction matters when comparing similarly timed flights. A BlueFirst label does not promise a lie-flat bed, a Mint suite or every Mint service element. Look at the cabin name and seat map on the exact flight rather than searching only for "JetBlue first class."

If JetBlue changes the aircraft, the available cabin may also change. Keep the airline's notifications enabled and review the seat assignment after any schedule update.

Mosaic upgrades are changing with the launch

JetBlue says Premium Upgrade Certificates will replace Move to Mint certificates and work for both Mint and BlueFirst. Mosaic 3 and Mosaic 4 members will receive the certificates under the revised system.

At launch, eligible Mosaic members can also receive space-available BlueFirst upgrades. JetBlue says details are still forthcoming, and it specifically excludes Main Base and EvenMore Base fares from upgrade eligibility. Until the final process is published, do not assume an upgrade will clear or that every fare can join the queue.

Travelers using certificates should check the current Mosaic terms before choosing a fare. A future program detail can change the best-value comparison even when the seat itself is unchanged.

A quick booking check prevents the common mistakes

Before paying, confirm all of the following on the exact flight:

  • BlueFirst appears as a cabin or fare choice, not merely on a route announcement.
  • The seat map shows the expected two-by-two premium cabin.
  • The fare says Base, BlueFirst or Flex and displays the needed refund and change rules.
  • The included checked-bag count matches the fare.
  • The flight distance reaches the 899-mile plated-meal threshold if meal service matters.
  • The airport actually offers JetBlue's advertised priority-security service.
  • Every traveler has an assigned seat if sitting together matters.

Take a screenshot of the cabin, fare rules and seat assignment after purchase. It gives you a clean reference if the schedule or aircraft later changes, although the ticket's live terms still control.

Mobile data is for the ground portion of the trip

A United States eSIM can help with airline messages, airport transport and maps around domestic BlueFirst trips. For Costa Rica services, compare a Costa Rica eSIM. Travelers crossing several listed destinations can also review the live coverage in the Caribbean 20 areas eSIM or North America eSIM.

An eSIM does not provide JetBlue's onboard Fly-Fi and does not affect cabin service. Check that every country on the itinerary appears in the plan's current coverage list. Data allowance, validity, speed, hotspot support and top-up eligibility vary by package, and not every plan can be reloaded.

These guides explain when to install an eSIM, how to check phone compatibility and how much travel data to plan.

Ten questions about JetBlue BlueFirst

When is the first JetBlue BlueFirst flight?

JetBlue plans the first revenue BlueFirst flight from Boston to Fort Lauderdale on December 8, 2026. Select Fort Lauderdale to LaGuardia flights are due to follow within days.

Does every flight on a BlueFirst route have the cabin?

No. JetBlue says BlueFirst will operate on select flights, and aircraft assignments can change. Check the cabin label and seat map for the exact date and flight number.

Is BlueFirst the same as JetBlue Mint?

No. BlueFirst uses a two-by-two recliner-seat layout on non-Mint aircraft. Mint is JetBlue's separate lie-flat premium product.

Can I select a seat when I book BlueFirst Base?

Not in advance under the published Base rules. Free seat selection begins within 24 hours of departure. Standard BlueFirst and BlueFirst Flex include advance seat selection.

How many checked bags come with BlueFirst?

BlueFirst Base includes one checked bag. Standard BlueFirst and BlueFirst Flex include two. Confirm the allowance shown on the final booking because ticket conditions control.

Does every BlueFirst flight include a meal?

No. JetBlue says plated meals are for flights of at least 899 miles. Premium snacks are planned on all BlueFirst flights.

Can Mosaic members upgrade to BlueFirst?

JetBlue says eligible Mosaic members can receive space-available upgrades at launch, but detailed mechanics are still forthcoming. Main Base and EvenMore Base fares are excluded from upgrade eligibility.

Can a family book some passengers in BlueFirst and others in Core?

Separate cabin choices may require separate reservations or help from JetBlue, depending on how the itinerary prices. Separate records can complicate seat, change and disruption handling, so ask JetBlue how the bookings will be linked before paying.

What happens if JetBlue changes the aircraft?

The cabin and seat assignment can change with the aircraft. Review any schedule-change notice, open the seat map again and contact JetBlue if the replacement does not match what was purchased.

Does BlueFirst include lounge access?

JetBlue's launch announcement does not list lounge access as a BlueFirst benefit. Do not infer it from the first-class name; check the current airport and fare benefits for the exact itinerary.

Final checks for a BlueFirst trip

  • Reopen the reservation and confirm the cabin and aircraft after any schedule alert.
  • Save the fare rules, baggage allowance and seat assignment offline.
  • Check the meal rule if the flight is close to 899 miles.
  • Allow time for the airport even when priority check-in or security is offered.
  • Keep essential medicine, documents and electronics in hand baggage.
  • Download the JetBlue app and destination details before leaving reliable internet.
  • Install any travel eSIM in advance and follow the selected package's activation instructions.

When this BlueFirst guide should be updated

The launch date, route rollout, fare families, cabin features and initial upgrade position come from JetBlue's October 15 announcement and current customer pages. Public traveler discussions were used to identify questions about mixed-cabin family bookings, seat selection, meals, route availability and Mosaic upgrades, not as sources for JetBlue policy.

This page should be updated if JetBlue changes the first-flight date, adds or removes route pairs, expands BlueFirst to every frequency, revises the fare families, publishes the final Mosaic upgrade process or materially changes the cabin benefits. Those developments belong on this URL instead of a competing article.
