Lindisfarne Festival runs from Thursday, September 3 to Saturday, September 5, 2026 at Beal Farm in Northumberland. The festival is on the mainland opposite Holy Island, not across the tidal causeway on the island itself. Campers leave by 3 p.m. on Sunday, September 6, but there is no Sunday music programme.

This is an adults-only event with camping included in multi-day tickets. The practical problems are less obvious than the lineup: the official station shuttle timetable was still pending when this guide was checked, 2026 fire restrictions rule out most campsite cooking equipment, and the lead ticket holder must be present with valid photo ID at wristband exchange.

The short answer: check live ticket availability on Skiddle, arrive during the published vehicle window, and do not plan a Holy Island detour while following festival signs. Save the ticket, timetable, return booking and current rules offline. If arriving by train, treat Berwick-upon-Tweed as the rail handoff but wait for the organizer's confirmed shuttle details before building a tight connection.

This guide was checked on August 29, 2026. News reports published on August 21 said about 500 tickets remained during the event's fastest-selling year. That is not a current stock count. The live Skiddle listing controls availability.

Check the ticket before planning the campsite

The ticket name decides whether a tent, campervan or single-day visit works. Do not assume a vehicle can double as accommodation.

If several live-in vehicles need adjacent pitches, arrive together. Staff site them in arrival order and cannot preserve an empty neighboring pitch for a later vehicle. Roof tents are treated as live-in vehicle accommodation, so they also require the appropriate vehicle ticket.

Gazebos are not allowed. That matters for groups tempted to bring a shared shelter in addition to their tents. Use equipment that fits inside the published rules and can withstand an exposed coastal field.

Is quiet camping guaranteed?

No. The organizer describes a quieter area at the back of the camping field, beyond glamping. It is first come, not reservable, and it can still receive festival and campsite noise. Arriving Thursday or early Friday improves the chance of finding space, but it does not create a quiet-hours guarantee.

Music is due to finish around 1 a.m. on Thursday and 4 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Earplugs are a more reliable sleep plan than a particular row of tents.

Understand the 2026 fire and cooking rules

The festival tightened its fire rules after a dry summer and wildfire risk. Most familiar campsite cooking options are prohibited.

Read the current event terms before packing because the full prohibited-item list is broader than this table. A permitted stove still needs stable placement, space away from tents, sober handling and attention while lit. If that does not suit the group, plan around food traders rather than improvising with prohibited equipment.

The current terms also limit alcohol brought into camping on first entry. They allow either 18 containers of beer, lager or cider up to 300ml each, or 12 such containers plus one 75cl bottle of wine decanted into plastic. Arrive at Beal Farm without ending up on Holy Island

The festival sits at Beal Farm on the mainland, roughly eight miles south of Berwick-upon-Tweed. A map search for Lindisfarne can point toward Holy Island and its tidal causeway. That is the wrong destination for festival entry.

Drivers can use TD15 2PB as an approach reference, then follow event signs from the A1. Temporary routes and staff directions take priority over the shortest sat-nav suggestion. The published vehicle arrival windows are:

Do not schedule arrival after the gate window and assume a phone call will override it. Contact the organizer before travel if a disrupted train, flight or road journey makes the published window impossible.

Train and shuttle plan from Berwick-upon-Tweed

Berwick-upon-Tweed is the nearest railway station on the East Coast Main Line. The organizer's information page says shuttle and coach updates from Woody's Taxis will be added, and lists a 10 percent festival-goer taxi discount subject to availability. It did not show a final public shuttle timetable when checked on August 29.

That leaves one important boundary: a rail ticket to Berwick is not yet a complete door-to-gate itinerary. Recheck the official festival information page and Woody's Taxis close to departure. If booking a taxi, confirm pickup, festival entrance and price directly. The organizer lists Woody's on 01289 547 009.

Do not substitute the Holy Island visitor bus or causeway shuttle for a confirmed festival transfer. Those services solve a different journey.

Leaving and re-entering

Re-entry is permitted, but it is not frictionless. Keep the wristband attached and retain any parking pass. Returning visitors go through the entrance process again and may queue or be searched.

Leaving for supplies can consume more of the day than expected because the site is rural and the return is subject to the same access controls. Pack medication, weather layers, payment and essential camping items before first entry.

Save the stage times without treating them as permanent

The Proclaimers, Faithless and Razorlight are among the announced 2026 headliners. The organizer has released stage times across nine stages, but schedules can change and individual venues can reach capacity.

Use the official stage information as the source of truth. An independent fan tool at Lindy Times turns the timetable into a searchable schedule and says it can work offline after it has been opened. It is useful, but unofficial. Cross-check any must-see act against the latest organizer timetable before committing to a stage move.

Save three things rather than the entire weekend as one long screenshot:

1. The official timetable for each day you are attending.
2. A short personal list with stage, start time and one backup choice.
3. The current site map when the organizer publishes its final version.

Arrive early for an act in a smaller venue. A valid ticket does not guarantee entry after a stage reaches its safety capacity.

Pack for wind, showers and uneven ground

Beal Farm is an exposed coastal site. The official guidance recommends warm layers, a waterproof and extra tent pegs. Paths and fields can be uneven, so sturdy footwear is more useful than shoes chosen only for dry grass.

The Berwick-upon-Tweed Met Office forecast checked on August 29 suggested daytime highs near 19C during the festival and some risk of rain, with breezy periods. A five-day forecast is not a promise. Check again before leaving and use the live forecast for the final waterproof, sleeping-bag and footwear decision.

Bring a towel if using the paid showers. Keep a dry layer and sleep clothes sealed separately from the day bag. A tent that leaks on Friday should not also soak the only clothes reserved for the journey home.

Chairs are allowed in the arena but cannot block venue entrances or exits. A chair can help during long breaks, but it adds weight and may be awkward in crowded stage areas.

ID, access and dog rules

Lindisfarne Festival is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. The lead named ticket holder must be present at wristband exchange and show accepted photo ID. The terms list a passport or current UK driving or provisional licence. Challenge 25 means an adult who looks under 25 should expect an age check.

The site is working countryside with uneven ground. The organizer says it creates flatter routes where possible, provides disabled toilets and operates a limited first-come viewing platform at Shorefields. It does not provide disabled showers. Closer parking or camping requires prior arrangement and remains subject to availability, so contact the access team before setting off rather than solving it at the gate.

Dogs are allowed under the published policy, but they must stay on a short lead and cannot enter marquees unless they are assistance dogs. Festival noise, crowds, late hours and limited shade can still make the weekend a poor fit for an individual dog. Permission is not the same as a welfare recommendation.

Set up the useful apps and offline files

Install and open the services that support the actual journey before leaving reliable Wi-Fi:

Save the ticket and essential booking references in the form permitted by the issuer. A screenshot is not a replacement when a moving barcode or live app check is required. It is still useful to keep the booking reference, purchaser name and support route outside the app.

Large crowds can slow any mobile network.
