Lucca Comics & Games 2026: tickets, wristbands and trains
Lucca Comics & Games runs from October 28 to November 1, 2026. You need both a valid ticket and its wristband to enter the paid festival areas. Choose your day around the activities you want to attend, decide how to collect the wristband, and check the journey home before adding an evening event.
The 60th-anniversary edition, called Legacy, brings comics, tabletop games, video games, animation and cosplay into venues across Lucca. This is a city-wide visit, not a convention where every activity is in the next hall.
Physical TicketOne outlets started selling festival tickets on October 1. There is also an approaching October 16 cutoff for the home-delivery option. Those choices can change how you spend your first morning, particularly if you arrive from another city.

Choose your Lucca day before buying a ticket
Start with the official programme. Filter by date, activity, location and events requiring reservations. A guest's presence in the overall lineup does not mean they appear every day or that you can join their signing with a general admission ticket alone.
Keep one activity you most want to attend and a few nearby alternatives. Check the event's own instructions for reservations, queue arrangements, language, age guidance and any purchase requirement. Save the confirmation separately from the festival ticket.
The festival homepage listed October 28, 29 and November 1 as available when checked on October 4, with an urgency label on October 30 and 31. That is a dated organizer status, not a guarantee of inventory or a prediction of how crowded your chosen venue will be.
Lucca ticket prices include more than the base fare
The official online price table lists these general-sale day-ticket totals, checked October 4. The totals below include the listed presale charge and commission, but not optional delivery.
| Festival day | Listed online total |
|---|---|
| Wednesday, October 28 | EUR26.50 |
| Thursday, October 29 | EUR29.50 |
| Friday, October 30 | EUR33.50 |
| Saturday, October 31 | EUR34.50 |
| Sunday, November 1 | EUR33.50 |
Buy through the organizer's linked TicketOne shop and confirm the final price and selected date. Compare a multi-day pass only after you know which days you can use.
The 2026 ticket FAQ says date changes and refunds are not available under its published policy. It points to TicketOne's FANsale service, available from October 1, for resale. Follow the official procedure rather than treating an emailed ticket or wristband offered by a stranger as verified admission.
How to collect your festival wristband
The organizer's collection guidance distinguishes these routes:
| Your arrangement | What to do before entering paid areas |
|---|---|
| Standard e-ticket or Print@home | Collect the corresponding wristband at a welcome desk |
| Home delivery selected and fulfilled | Bring both the ticket and wristband; no welcome-desk visit is needed |
| Selected TicketOne Gold outlet | Confirm whether that outlet can supply the wristband with your purchase |
| Multi-day collection in Lucca | Collect the wristbands together on your first visit, following your order's instructions |
Five welcome desks are scheduled for October 28 to November 1, 06:30 to 18:30. San Regolo also has an early collection window on October 27, 16:00 to 19:00. Use the current map for locations rather than walking straight from the station to your first pavilion.
Home delivery is included for eligible three-, four- and five-day passes ordered before the cutoff, and is optional for day tickets and two-day passes. There is a discrepancy: the Italian ticket page says 09:00 on October 16, while the English collection page and ticket FAQ say 10:00. Arrange delivery before October 16 if possible, and confirm the deadline and destination with the seller. Do not rely on the later time.
The official Gold outlet list includes Teatro del Giglio and Media World Lucca, among other locations. Check stock, opening hours and any outlet commission before making a detour. A normal TicketOne outlet is not automatically a Gold wristband-collection point.
Group your festival stops by area
Lucca's tourism event listing identifies these main areas. Check the current festival map for the specific stand, entrance and walking route.
| Interest | Area to look for |
|---|---|
| Comics and publishers | Piazza Napoleone and nearby squares |
| Board and tabletop games | Padiglione Carducci |
| Video games | Piazzale Verdi and the Cavallerizza area |
| Japan-themed activities | Polo Fiere di Lucca |
| Lucca Junior | Family Palace at Real Collegio |
| eSports | Palazzetto dello Sport |
Japan-themed activities are not all inside the same central-town pavilion. Leave time to move between the historic centre and Polo Fiere rather than booking consecutive activities as if they share an entrance.
For a first day, start with your reserved activity, have lunch nearby, then choose one main area for the afternoon. Keep another stop optional. A queue, a signing or costume photographs can use the time you had assigned to several pavilions.
Wear shoes you can walk and stand in. Carry a light rain layer and protect books or artwork in a waterproof bag. Check the forecast before packing; a visitor's experience of last year's weather is not this year's forecast. Confirm prop and entry rules for your costume with the organizer.
Trains, parking and the choice of a base
Lucca tourism's arrival guide places the railway station in Piazza Ricasoli, outside the walls. It lists connections from Florence Santa Maria Novella, Pisa and Viareggio. For Pisa Airport, plan the airport transfer and onward train as separate parts of the journey.
Use the Trenitalia app for your exact date, route and service notices. Check the return as well as the outward trip. Save a practical earlier departure and the final usable option, allowing time to reach the station after your last activity. A late programme listing does not establish that a late train will run. Do not copy the extra-train timetable from the 2025 edition.
Staying in Lucca can suit several festival days or an evening programme. Pisa or Viareggio may give you other accommodation choices, but compare the complete cost and daily commute. Check the room's actual location, cancellation terms and route back from the station; this guide does not claim nearby towns are always cheaper.
If driving, check the current festival parking booking route and restrictions before departure. Lucca's historic centre has a large limited-traffic zone. An accommodation address inside it is not permission to drive there.
The organizer's 2026 travel information links Lucca Plus parking and Eventi in Bus packages combining return travel, ticket and wristband. Compare the precise pickup, return time and inclusions. The advertised Italo EUR1 onward-bus promotion had a June 25 to July 9 booking window; do not assume that fare is still offered in October.
Children and access arrangements need separate planning
The organizer confirms free entry without a ticket for children born on or after January 1, 2017, accompanied by at least one adult with a valid ticket and wristband. Use that published birth-date rule rather than assuming an informal age description covers every child.
Choose a specific Lucca Junior activity and check its reservation and age guidance. Leave space for food, toilets and a break; a full-day programme with several distant venues can be hard on younger children. Our Italy with kids guide covers broader family route planning.
The accessible ticket request portal lists October 18 inclusive as the submission deadline. It describes complimentary admission for a person with a disability and reduced-price companion admission, subject to the requested documentation and process. Confirm your arrangements early. A ticket concession is not proof that every venue, queue or transport connection meets your access needs.
Keep tickets and your Lucca plan usable on your phone
The organizer's current guidance describes LuccaCG Assistant as the official app for the interactive map, saved itinerary, reservations and updates. Install or update it before traveling and check that you can access any confirmed bookings. Use Trenitalia separately for rail information.
Save the festival ticket in its supported format, reservation confirmations, wristband instructions and accommodation address. Download an offline map, agree on a named meeting point and bring a charged power bank. Test what remains usable without a connection instead of assuming every reservation screen works offline.
Mobile data helps with reservation updates, train notices and group messages. For visitors whose home plan charges extra in Italy, OpenSim's Italy plans provide a separate allowance at a stated price. The public catalog checked October 4 listed 1GB for seven days at USD1.14 and 10GB for 30 days at USD8.56, both eligible for top-up. Final checkout totals may include fees or currency conversion.
That gives you a small-data option for trip tasks without buying a large allowance just to check an updated meeting place. If your home plan already includes enough Italy data, it may be simpler to use it. OpenSim cannot guarantee reception in a busy pavilion or secure a sold-out reservation.
Check phone compatibility, review when to install an eSIM before travel, and use the travel data calculator before selecting a plan.
When to recheck Lucca tickets and travel arrangements
The linked organizer, ticketing, tourism and rail pages were checked on October 4, 2026. Recheck before the October 16 delivery cutoff, before the October 18 accessible-ticket deadline, and again before your visit. Confirm inventory and any event reservation at checkout, and review transport notices on the day. We will update this guide when the organizer changes collection arrangements, programme details or visitor transport. Do not reuse these dates or rules for a later edition without confirmation.
