Macau Grand Prix 2026: tickets, race days and ferry plans

The 73rd Macau Grand Prix runs from Thursday, November 19, to Sunday, November 22, 2026. Ticket sales opened October 9 at noon Macao time. Start with the race you want to see, then select its day and stand. The current MacauTicket listing requires paper admission tickets, so an online order needs a collection plan as well as a travel plan.
The event uses the Guia street circuit on the Macao Peninsula. It is not a Formula 1 weekend, and it is not the Grand Prix Museum. Those distinctions matter before you spend money on a ticket, hotel room or cross-border journey.
What is racing in Macau this year?
The FIA's 2026 announcement confirms the Formula Regional and Formula 4 World Cups on the 6.120km Guia Circuit. Formula Regional became the headline single-seater category in 2024. An older page describing the main event as the F3 World Cup is not a description of this year's category.
The organizer's current programme also includes GT, touring-car, motorcycle, GT4 and Roadsport racing. Choose by the sessions you want rather than assuming that a Sunday ticket covers every category's main race.
| Day | Useful programme points, Macao time |
|---|---|
| Thursday, November 19 | Practice and qualifying; Formula Regional qualifying at 4pm |
| Friday, November 20 | Further practice and qualifying; Formula Regional qualifying at 2:40pm |
| Saturday, November 21 | Motorcycle race at 9:10am; GT qualification race at 2:35pm; Formula Regional qualifying race at 4:15pm |
| Sunday, November 22 | F4 main race at 9:15am; GT World Cup at 12:35pm; Formula Regional main race at 3:30pm |
The published circuit closure is 6am, with reopening scheduled for 6pm each day. These are circuit times, not a promise of spectator gate opening or instant traffic clearance. The organizer can reschedule the programme; recheck before travel.
If motorcycles are your priority, Saturday deserves attention. If you want the main Formula Regional race, plan around Sunday afternoon. Thursday or Friday can be a lower-cost way to watch practice and qualifying, but that is a different experience from attending a final.
Daily ticket prices and seating types
The official 2026 ticket information, checked October 13, lists the following per-day prices in Macao patacas:
| Stand | November 19 or 20, each day | November 21 or 22, each day | Seating |
|---|---|---|---|
| Grand Stand | MOP100 | MOP750 | Open seating |
| Lisboa Bend Stand | MOP100 | MOP1,200 | Open seating on Thursday/Friday; assigned seats on Saturday/Sunday |
| Reservoir Stand | MOP100 | MOP400 | Open seating |
Open seating means unassigned seating, not free admission. The price is for one day, not a four-day pass. Children aged two and above require tickets, and the ordinary purchase limit is ten tickets per transaction. Check the relevant identification conditions before selecting a concession ticket.
Two adults choosing Reservoir on Saturday and Sunday would total MOP1,600 at these listed prices. The same two days at Lisboa would total MOP4,800. That comparison covers admission only, before accommodation, transport or any checkout charges.
A lower price does not establish a better view for your particular interests. Compare the organizer's stand-location map with the session you want, then ask about sightlines, screens and access if those decide the purchase. Do not treat a hotel named Lisboa, Grand Lisboa or Grand Lisboa Palace as the spectator stand or assume the names mean the same location.
Where to buy, and what the listing does not guarantee
Start through the official Grand Prix website and its named ticket channels. The current MacauTicket page for the 73rd edition identifies November 19-22 and paper admission tickets. Check that edition and date before paying; a museum ticket or a 72nd-edition product is not a substitute.
The listing also names on-site booths near the ferry terminal and stands. Confirm the correct counter and hours with your seller; a booth listing does not prove stock.
The entry notice excludes bulky luggage and permits changes or cancellation for bad weather or other force majeure. Ask the seller about unresolved refund or collection questions before paying.
Prices and a purchase link do not prove current stock for your chosen day. Select the exact session through the seller and confirm availability before arranging non-refundable travel. If the session is unavailable, use the organizer's authorized channels rather than a social-media seller asking for a private transfer.
For a group, compare everyone's day, stand and seating type before separate orders. A Saturday assigned seat and a Sunday open-seating ticket are different products. An order confirmation should settle what you bought, not leave your group trying to resolve it at the gate.
An online booking still needs a paper-ticket plan
The seller's reservation and collection guide requires login for online purchases and explains the account wallet, including a redemption code for physical tickets. After payment, check that the order appears successfully in your wallet and read its specific collection instructions.
Do not assume an emailed confirmation or a screenshot is the admission ticket for this event. Save the order information, then confirm the permitted pickup location, required documents and whether someone else may collect for you. Collecting a ticket and entering a stand are separate steps.
For an overseas visitor, resolve pickup before departure. If you are coming over from Hong Kong for one day, include collection time after arrival rather than booking the closest ferry to your first race. A seller's general tutorial may cover other events using eTickets; the event-specific paper-ticket requirement takes priority.
Keep the paper ticket secure once issued. Store a copy of the order information separately so you can ask for help, but do not assume that a photo guarantees replacement of a lost admission ticket. Ask the seller about that situation instead of relying on another festival's rules.
A Hong Kong day trip: choose the return first
TurboJET's current Hong Kong-Macao schedule gives an approximate sixty-minute sailing between Sheung Wan and Macao, with separate services and terminals for Outer Harbour and Taipa. Its passenger notice advises arrival for boarding at least thirty minutes before departure for document checks and requires passengers to meet entry requirements.
The sailing duration is only one part of the outing. Allow for getting to the Hong Kong terminal, boarding, immigration, reaching the correct stand, collecting paper tickets and the trip back. On Sunday, the scheduled Formula Regional session runs into late afternoon; a return that requires you to leave beforehand defeats the reason for buying that day.
| Journey decision | Check before booking |
|---|---|
| Outer Harbour or Taipa | The terminal printed on the ferry booking and the remaining journey to your stand |
| First race you want | Arrival, immigration, collection and entry time before that session |
| Return to Hong Kong | The confirmed sailing and required reporting time after you leave the circuit |
| Flight from Hong Kong | Whether your booked transfer is a city journey or an airport transit product |
| Limited mobility | Boarding assistance and the actual route from terminal to stand |
Book against the service currently offered for your date. A years-old forum comment saying ferries run all night is not a November 2026 timetable. A Hong Kong airport transfer can have different baggage and transit requirements from a normal city ferry, so read the operator's rules for the exact product.
An overnight stay can remove a tight same-day return, but compare the total cost and your actual plans. A room advertised near the circuit does not establish a clear track view or include race admission. Ask the accommodation provider about the room category and access rather than treating a community recommendation as a verified view guarantee.
Getting around during the street-circuit weekend
The Macao tourism office's transport guidance links official bus-route information and local operators. It lists ordinary cash bus fares at MOP6, with no change given. Those are general transport rules, not a final list of race-weekend diversions.
Check the current traffic and bus notices closer to the event. This guide does not confirm a complete 2026 diversion plan or repeat a special shuttle number from an earlier Grand Prix. Save the route to your stand, then check the walking access separately from the vehicle route.
Someone arriving at Outer Harbour with restricted mobility should ask about the actual accessible approach, crossing points and assistance. Do not assume that a short straight-line distance to Lisboa makes the journey easy. A taxi also needs a permitted route and a reachable drop-off.
For photography, check the exact stand and equipment rules before buying. A long lens does not overcome a fence, restricted access or a seat facing a different section of track. Stay in spectator areas and follow staff instructions; a race ticket does not imply paddock access.
The museum is a separate outing
The Macao Grand Prix Museum ticket page sells museum admission through its own ticketing system. It is not the circuit ticket seller, and visiting the museum does not reserve a grandstand place.
Put the museum or general sightseeing on another part of your itinerary if the race day is already full. Our Macao with kids guide covers broader family stops and slower routes. For children attending the races, plan hearing protection, breaks and a manageable session; ask the organizer about stroller storage and family access before relying on either.
Useful apps and a phone backup
The Experience Macao app, listed by the tourism office, supports English, walking routes, bus information, maps and offline data downloads. Download what you need beforehand, then test the saved information without a connection. Static information does not replace live diversion notices.
Bookmark the organizer's schedule and your ticket seller's wallet. Save the stand name, pickup instructions, accommodation address and return booking where you can read them if data or your battery becomes unavailable. If your group splits up, agree on a named meeting place and time rather than depending only on a live location pin.
Check weather and official event updates before leaving. Bring the documents and essentials you need, but arrange storage for bulky bags before going to the venue. Mobile data can help with changes; it cannot make a paper ticket digital or remove border queues.
OpenSim for the Macao part of the trip
The live OpenSim catalog, checked October 13, lists a Macao 5GB, 30-day fixed-data plan at USD5.40, with 3 and CTM named in its coverage and top-up support for that plan. Compare OpenSim Macao plans with the allowance your home provider already includes. Final checkout totals can include fees or currency conversion, and live prices can change.
For a visitor without included Macao data, a fixed allowance can make maps, ticket-order access and group messaging easier to budget. If your home plan already covers the stay at no additional cost, it may be the better option. The named networks do not guarantee a particular speed in a busy stand.
Choose coverage for the whole route. A Macao-only plan should not be treated as Hong Kong or mainland China coverage; check the destinations shown on any regional plan you consider. Use our travel data calculator, phone compatibility check and installation timing guide before departure. Follow the selected package's own start rules.
