Qantas Perth-London flights via Singapore: QF209 guide

Qantas has extended its altered Perth-to-London schedule, with QF209 flying via Singapore through January 31, 2027. The airline's current route page confirms that Perth-to-Heathrow flights are operating through Singapore. The reverse QF10 from London to Perth remains scheduled nonstop.

That difference matters when comparing journey times or booking a connection. QF209 is a direct flight with one stop, not a nonstop flight. Passengers stay on the same flight number from Perth to London, but should expect to leave the aircraft in Singapore and follow the crew's instructions before reboarding.

The practical answer: QF209 is currently scheduled to leave Perth at 16:15, stop in Singapore for 90 minutes, and reach London Heathrow at 05:30 the next day. The revised schedule runs through January 31, 2027. Check the selected date before paying because airline schedules and aircraft can change.

What changed on the Perth-London route

Qantas previously marketed QF9 from Perth to London as a nonstop. Its current international route page now tells passengers that Perth-to-Heathrow flights are operating via Singapore.

The latest filed schedule, reported by AeroRoutes, keeps the Singapore stop through January 31, 2027. Qantas uses QF209 for the northbound flight during this period. The published plan is daily and uses a Boeing 787-9.

FlightCurrent routingPublished local timesCurrent plan
QF209Perth-Singapore-London HeathrowPER 16:15, SIN 21:40-23:10, LHR 05:30 next dayDaily through January 31, 2027
QF10London Heathrow-PerthLHR 11:30, PER 12:15 next dayDaily nonstop

The listed QF209 journey is 21 hours 15 minutes from Perth departure to London arrival, including the Singapore stop. Treat every time as the current schedule, not a promise. Qantas's conditions of carriage say schedules may change and passengers should check before travel.

Direct is not the same as nonstop

QF209 is direct because one flight number covers Perth, Singapore and London. It is not nonstop because the aircraft lands in Singapore.

The stop is scheduled for 90 minutes. That is long enough for the aircraft and passengers to be processed, but it is not a normal Singapore visit or a self-directed connection. Follow the cabin crew's instructions, take essential cabin belongings with you if told to do so, and return to the stated gate by the boarding time.

Do not plan to pass immigration or leave Changi Airport during this stop. The schedule does not provide useful margin for entering Singapore, returning airside and clearing gate security. Travelers whose itinerary starts in Singapore are making a separate boarding journey and should follow the check-in time on their own booking.

Check what the change did to your booking

Passengers who booked before the routing changed should open Manage Booking and compare the current sectors, dates and connection times with the original itinerary. A feeder flight to Perth may have moved even if the final London arrival remains close to the earlier plan.

If every flight is on one ticket and Qantas changes the itinerary, use the options in the airline's message or contact the issuing travel agent. If flights were bought separately, one airline may not protect the other booking. A same-day domestic arrival into Perth leaves less recovery room than arriving the day before.

Save the updated itinerary offline and keep the mobile number and email address in the booking current. Confirm the operating flight number again 24 to 48 hours before departure and use Qantas's flight-status tool on the day.

Aircraft, cabin and seat checks

The filed schedule lists a Boeing 787-9 for QF209. That aircraft has Economy, Premium Economy and Business cabins, so the Singapore stop does not by itself remove Premium Economy from the through flight.

An aircraft assignment can still change. Check the seat map and cabin on the selected date, especially before paying for a preferred seat or using points for an upgrade. If the airline changes aircraft, a seat number may move even when the cabin remains the same.

The Singapore stop should not be treated as a guaranteed lounge visit. Eligible passengers can check the Qantas lounge access rules, but 90 minutes includes leaving the aircraft, walking, security and reboarding. Stay near the gate if the crew gives a short return window.

Bags, check-in and London connections

For a through QF209 booking, confirm at Perth that the checked-bag tag shows the final destination. Do not assume that a forum answer applies to a changed itinerary. Keep medication, travel documents, valuables and anything needed during the Singapore stop in cabin baggage.

Qantas says international airport check-in generally opens three hours before departure and closes 60 minutes before departure, though location-specific exceptions can apply. Follow the time printed for your booking and allow extra margin for document checks.

At Heathrow, check the arrival terminal and the operating carrier of any onward flight. Qantas currently uses Terminal 3, but terminal assignments can change. A protected connection on one ticket and a separate onward ticket carry different recovery rights. Ask at Perth whether the bag is checked through, then follow Heathrow's transfer signs rather than leaving the secure area by habit.

Mobile data in Perth, Singapore and London

An OpenSim Australia eSIM can help with airport transport and booking messages before departure. A United Kingdom eSIM covers ground connectivity after arrival. The AUKUS three-country eSIM includes Australia and the United Kingdom, but it does not claim Singapore coverage.

Travelers who need ground data across all three countries can compare the live coverage of the Global 120 areas eSIM. Its catalog coverage included Australia, Singapore and the United Kingdom when this guide was reviewed. Check the selected package again before paying because coverage, allowance, validity and top-up eligibility vary by plan.

An eSIM does not provide inflight Wi-Fi and does not make a short airport stop long enough to enter Singapore. Install it over reliable Wi-Fi, follow the package's activation instructions, and save the QR code or installation details offline. These guides explain when to install an eSIM, how to check phone compatibility and how much travel data to plan.

Ten questions about QF209 via Singapore

Is QF209 from Perth to London nonstop?

No. QF209 is a direct flight with one flight number, but it stops in Singapore before continuing to London Heathrow.

How long is QF209 from Perth to London?

The current timetable runs for 21 hours 15 minutes from the 16:15 Perth departure to the 05:30 London arrival the next day. That includes the scheduled 90-minute Singapore stop.

When does the QF209 Singapore schedule end?

The latest filed schedule runs through January 31, 2027. The first date after that should be checked in Qantas's live booking system before relying on a nonstop itinerary.

Does QF10 from London to Perth also stop in Singapore?

No. The current filed schedule keeps QF10 nonstop from London Heathrow to Perth. The two directions therefore have different routings and journey times.

Do QF209 passengers leave the aircraft in Singapore?

Passengers should expect to follow the crew off the aircraft and wait airside before reboarding. The exact process and return time are operational instructions, so follow the announcement on the day rather than a past passenger report.

Do checked bags need to be collected in Singapore?

Passengers booked through to London should ask at Perth whether the bag tag shows LHR. Do not leave the airside route to collect a bag unless Qantas or airport staff direct you to do so.

Is QF209 still a Boeing 787-9 with Premium Economy?

The current schedule lists a Boeing 787-9, which includes Premium Economy. Aircraft and seat maps can change, so verify the cabin on the selected flight before paying for a seat or upgrade.

Will Qantas move a feeder flight if QF209 changes?

It depends on the ticket. Qantas may rework a single-ticket itinerary after a schedule change, while a separately booked feeder flight usually has its own conditions. Check every sector in Manage Booking and contact the ticket issuer if the connection no longer works.

How are Qantas Points and Status Credits calculated for QF209?

Use the Qantas Points and Status Credits calculator for the exact booking. The earning result depends on the marketed flight, fare and membership rules. Do not add the Perth-Singapore and Singapore-London figures manually unless the issued ticket shows separate eligible sectors.

Can I visit Singapore during the QF209 stop?

Do not plan to enter Singapore during a 90-minute operational stop. Passengers need to follow the airside process and return for boarding. Book a normal Singapore stopover on a different itinerary if time in the city is part of the trip.

A booking checklist for the altered route

  • Confirm that the outbound flight is QF209 and note the Singapore stop.
  • Compare the outbound and return routings rather than assuming they match.
  • Read every departure and arrival time as local time.
  • Check feeder flights, especially if the Perth arrival is on a separate ticket.
  • Recheck the Boeing 787-9 seat map and purchased cabin.
  • Confirm the checked-bag destination at Perth.
  • Keep medication, documents and valuables in cabin baggage.
  • Follow crew instructions during the Singapore stop.
  • Verify the Heathrow terminal and onward connection.
  • Save the latest itinerary and essential contacts offline.

Sources and when to recheck this flight

Qantas's current route page confirms that Perth-to-Heathrow flights are operating via Singapore. AeroRoutes and Executive Traveller report the revised airline schedule through January 31, 2027, including QF209, QF10 and the current local times. Qantas's own passenger pages support the schedule-change, check-in, lounge and points boundaries used here.

Review this guide if Qantas changes the January 31 end date, restores QF9 earlier or later, alters QF209 or QF10, changes the aircraft, or issues new passenger instructions for the Singapore stop. The live booking and flight-status pages remain the final check for a particular date.
