Shakira Madrid 2026 guide: transport, tickets and bags

Shakira's Madrid residency is under way at a temporary stadium inside Iberdrola Music in Villaverde. After the opening weekend, nine concerts remain: September 25, 26 and 27 and October 2, 3, 4, 9, 10 and 11, 2026. Madrid expects about 57,000 attendees each night.

The decision that matters most is the journey home. Metro service is reinforced but not extended, Cercanias keeps its normal timetable, and the free Atocha shuttle has limited places. Save the mobile ticket and return route before leaving central Madrid, then use the entrance printed on the ticket rather than following the largest crowd.

This guide was checked again on September 21 against Live Nation, Ticketmaster and Madrid City Council information. The opening weekend has passed. For the remaining dates, Madrid publishes a 21:00 concert start while Live Nation says later schedules will be similar to the opening weekend and communicated before each show. The date-specific ticket notice should settle that difference.

Which official schedule should you use?

Two official pages show slightly different planning times. Madrid's mobility plan describes a 21:00 concert start and a gradual exit until 01:00 for the remaining dates. Live Nation's event FAQ gives the completed opening weekend a 20:30 Shakira start, a 23:00 show finish and all activities ending at 00:15.

Use the newest Live Nation or Ticketmaster message for the performance and the city plan for streets, entrances and transport controls. Check both again on the day. Do not assume the opening-weekend times apply unchanged to September 25 onward.

Where is Macondo Park and Shakira Stadium?

Macondo Park and Shakira Stadium are within the Iberdrola Music site, south of Villaverde Alto. Search for Iberdrola Music, not an unrelated place with Macondo in its name. The event area is bounded by Calle Laguna Dalga, Avenida Real de Pinto, the M-45 and Camino de la Rabia.

There is no separate Macondo Park ticket. A valid ticket for that day's Shakira concert is required to enter the park, including its pavilion activities and second-stage concerts.

Use the entrance on your ticket

Madrid lists three pedestrian access areas on Calle Laguna Dalga:

• The main public and accessible entrance is opposite numbers 36-38, near Calle Laguna de Cameros.
• The VIP and accessible entrance is close to Avenida Real de Pinto.
• A second public and accessible entrance is near numbers 32-34, close to Calle San Erasmo.

Do not cross the full perimeter to join friends at another gate after reaching your assigned entrance. The site is large, roads will be controlled, and pedestrian routes are designed around ticket access.

How to get to the Shakira concert by public transport

Metro: the simplest default

Live Nation recommends Villaverde Alto on line 3 for the outward journey. It connects directly with central stations including Sol, Embajadores and Legazpi. Expect the train and the walk from the station to become busier close to stadium opening.

For the return, line 3 is planned to run at roughly 7.5-minute intervals from 23:00 to midnight, 3.5 minutes from midnight to 01:00 and 3.8 minutes from 01:00 to 01:30 when regular and reinforced trains are combined. Line 12 is also due to receive reinforcement.

That is extra frequency, not extra operating time. Metro hours are not being extended. Check the final connection needed after line 3, especially if the hotel is outside central Madrid.

Cercanias: useful, but do not rely on a special late train

Villaverde Alto also has C-4 and C-5 services. San Cristobal Industrial has C-3 service and a separate walking approach along Calle Laguna Dalga.

Madrid says Cercanias will keep its normal timetable without an event-specific nighttime extension. Look up the complete trip, not only the first departure from Villaverde. A train into central Madrid is not useful if the onward service has already ended.

EMT buses

Routes 22 and 79 connect Legazpi and Villaverde Alto. T41 serves the industrial area on weekdays but does not run on Saturdays or Sundays. Published first and last times refer to departures from the route terminus, not the exact time a bus passes the venue. Check EMT's live service before using a bus as the last connection.

The free return shuttle to Atocha

Free electric shuttle buses are planned after the concert from Gran Via de Villaverde near Calle San Jenaro. They stop at Legazpi for passengers to get off and continue to Atocha. This is a return-only service from the venue.

The final planned departure is 02:00, but places are limited. Treat the shuttle as a practical backup, not a guaranteed seat. Follow staff signs after leaving because the boarding point is not at the stadium gate.

If your accommodation is near Atocha or Legazpi, the shuttle may avoid an extra rail transfer. If the hotel is on line 3, Metro may still be more direct. Decide before the concert and save both routes offline.

Taxi, VTC and driving restrictions

The designated taxi pickup is on Calle San Eustaquio between Calle San Norberto and Calle de la Resina. The designated VTC pickup is at Calle de Tobalina and Calle San Ezequiel. A car ordered to the nearest visible road may be cancelled or redirected because the city plan closes and controls streets around the venue.

Driving is the weakest default for most visitors. Madrid warns of pedestrian and road congestion around a 57,000-person event, and the mobility plan prioritizes public transport. If someone must collect you, agree on the official pickup zone and a fallback meeting point before mobile networks become busy.

Coming from Madrid-Barajas Airport

Do not schedule a flight to land only a few hours before the concert. Immigration, baggage delivery and a cross-city journey leave little margin for a delayed arrival.

A practical public-transport route is airport Metro line 8 to Nuevos Ministerios, then a connection toward line 3 for Villaverde Alto. Cercanias can also connect the airport area with central interchange stations before continuing south. The best choice depends on the terminal, engineering work and the time of day, so use the official Metro, Cercanias and Aena planners on arrival.

For an international trip built around the show, arrive the day before. That also leaves time to open the Ticketmaster account, add the ticket to the phone and test the return route while hotel WiFi is available.

How Shakira Madrid mobile tickets work

The ticket is scanned from the Ticketmaster app or mobile website. A PDF, paper printout, screenshot or saved image is not accepted. Open the genuine ticket before leaving the hotel and follow Ticketmaster's wallet or offline instructions where offered.

Use this checklist:

1. Sign in to the Ticketmaster account that holds the order.
2. Confirm the correct date, zone and entrance.
3. Open the ticket while connected to reliable WiFi or mobile data.
4. Add it to the phone wallet when the option is available.
5. Transfer each ticket before the group separates if people will arrive at different times.
6. Charge the phone and bring a small permitted power bank.
7. Keep the account password available without storing it in an exposed note.

Ticketmaster says ticket transfer may close 24 hours before the event. Do not wait until the queue to divide one order among friends.

Live Nation names Ticketmaster and Live Nation Spain as the official sales channels. A seller's screenshot is not a transferable mobile ticket. If buying a resale ticket, use the platform's documented transfer process and verify that the ticket appears in your own account.

Shakira Madrid bag policy and permitted items

Bags and backpacks may measure no more than 40 x 20 x 20 cm or hold more than 20 litres. Security will inspect them. A smaller bag is easier on crowded trains and reduces the chance that a different measurement at the gate causes a problem.

The current permitted list includes:

• One soft plastic water bottle up to 500 ml, without its cap
• A sandwich or piece of fruit for personal consumption, wrapped in film
• A phone charger or small power bank around 15 x 7 x 2 cm and under 250 g
• Sun cream or makeup up to 500 ml, but not a spray or aerosol
• A small compact camera without a detachable lens
• A compact folding umbrella without a point
• Necessary liquid or semi-solid medication with supporting medical documentation

Items currently prohibited include bottles over 500 ml, rigid containers, aerosols, professional cameras, detachable lenses, tripods, selfie sticks, tablets, laptops, drones, rigid or pointed umbrellas, hand fans, chairs, coolers, tents, motorcycle helmets, masks that conceal the face and signs larger than A4.

One detail is easy to miss: the organizer allows a traditional folding fan but lists powered hand fans among the prohibited items. Recheck the official list before packing because security has the final decision.

Are lockers available?

Yes. Live Nation lists indoor lockers with repeated access and charging ports, plus kiosk-style storage for bulkier belongings. Sizes, locations, charges and availability vary. Reserve through the official event page if you need one, especially if you arrive with travel luggage.

A locker does not make a prohibited item acceptable. Security can still refuse it before you reach storage.

No re-entry after your ticket is scanned

Once the ticket is scanned, leaving ends the visit. You cannot return to Macondo Park or Shakira Stadium on the same ticket. Bring medication, a permitted layer and the phone power you need before entering.

This also affects groups. Meet outside before anyone scans in. Someone who enters early cannot walk back out to collect a friend, food or charger.

Rules for children and teenagers

Anyone under 16 must attend with an adult. Both people need tickets for the same zone and entrance. The organizer says a separate minor-access authorization document is not required, but every attendee needs a ticket regardless of age.

For a teenager attending with an adult, agree on a fixed meeting point inside and another outside the venue. Write down the adult's phone number. A temporary stadium with tens of thousands of people is not the place to rely on a chat app as the only reunion plan.

Accessibility at Shakira Stadium

The city identifies accessible access at the main gate, the VIP-side gate and the secondary public gate. Live Nation says volunteers from Fundacion ONCE will provide accessibility information and support, and the Respect Nation point is at access 2 on the right from 17:00 until closing.

Accessible tickets and companions must still follow their ticketed zone and gate. Contact Live Nation before travel if you need a viewing platform, companion placement, step-free routing or another adjustment. Temporary-site surfaces and long walking distances can differ from a permanent arena, so an accessible entrance alone does not answer every mobility question.

A workable concert-day plan

Before leaving central Madrid

• Check Live Nation for a timing change.
• Open the real mobile ticket and add it to the wallet if available.
• Screenshot the transport plan, not the ticket.
• Save the hotel address and the return station offline.
• Pack a compliant bag, small power bank and refill plan.
• Choose Metro, Cercanias or shuttle as the first return option and save a second.

At the venue

Macondo Park opens hours before the main show on the first weekend. Arriving early makes sense if you want the pavilion activities. It is unnecessary to spend the whole afternoon there simply because the site is open.

For an assigned seat, reaching Villaverde Alto well before Shakira Stadium opens leaves time for the walk, gate search and security. Standing-floor and early-entry packages have different priorities, so use the package instruction rather than a general arrival recommendation.

After the show

Do not stop immediately outside the gate to reorganize the group. Move with the signed pedestrian flow, then regroup at the agreed point. Open the saved route, check the next connection and switch to the shuttle plan early if the rail option no longer works.

Download what you can in advance. A large crowd can make a normally adequate mobile connection slower exactly when thousands of people open tickets, maps and messaging apps together.

Mobile data for a Shakira Madrid trip

The concert itself does not require a special data plan, but the trip uses data for the mobile ticket, live transport, airport messages, navigation and group coordination. Keep the ticket available offline and treat mobile data as a convenience, not the only way to enter.
