AloFor launches a Romanian travel eSIM catalog
AloFor, a Romanian travel-technology company, is now selling prepaid travel eSIM plans through its website and mobile apps. The service launched publicly in July 2026 and has gained wider coverage this week after publishing a catalog for more than 200 destinations.
The storefront includes country, regional and global plans. It advertises selected plans from USD 1 and a USD 1.50 welcome credit for eligible new accounts. Those figures are real catalog examples, but they are not a single worldwide price or a free plan for every new customer.
The traveler answer: AloFor is a live EU-based eSIM seller with public allowance, validity and price tables. Its lowest prices can cover only 100MB or 500MB, depending on the destination, and its public pages do not consistently name the mobile operator, top-up eligibility or detailed unlimited-data policy. Compare the exact plan rather than the homepage price.
What AloFor has launched
AloFor S.R.L. describes itself as a Romanian company registered in the European Union. It sells connectivity supplied through international eSIM infrastructure partners rather than operating its own radio network.
The public flow is straightforward:

AloFor's USD 1 price needs the allowance beside it
The homepage gives several examples at the lowest catalog price:
- United States: 500MB for seven days at USD 1;
- United States: an unlimited one-day plan at USD 1;
- Europe: an unlimited one-day plan at USD 1;
- Türkiye: 1GB for seven days at USD 1; and
- France and the UAE: 100MB for seven days at USD 1.

For maps, messaging, bookings and light browsing across several days, a fixed 1GB, 3GB or 5GB plan is easier to budget. Use the travel data estimator rather than assuming the lowest price fits the trip.
The USD 1.50 welcome credit is conditional
AloFor says eligible new accounts may receive a USD 1.50 credit on the first eSIM purchase. Its public wording does not define every eligibility condition, expiry date, minimum order or whether unused credit remains in the account.
The credit is not a promise that any listed plan becomes free. It is also not Romanian lei and does not establish the card's final exchange rate. Sign in, choose the exact plan and confirm that the checkout total reflects the credit before paying.
If the credit is important to the decision, save the offer and final total. Do not create repeated accounts or attempt to reuse a new-customer benefit; AloFor's terms allow suspension for abuse or fraud.
Network and top-up details remain the main information gap
AloFor's public destination tables show data, validity, type and USD price. The checked United States page says network type, hotspot and fair-use notes appear where applicable, but the visible table does not name the underlying operator.
That omission matters when a traveler knows one network works better at a destination, rural route or accommodation. A 5G label means the package can use 5G where supported; it does not promise that the phone will receive 5G everywhere.
The public pages also do not give one catalog-wide answer on top-ups. Check whether the selected profile can be reloaded, whether a new package requires a new profile and what happens to unused validity.
AloFor should expose those fields before the sign-in step. Until it does, take a screenshot of the chosen plan and keep the order instructions offline.
Calls, SMS and a local number vary by plan
AloFor says its travel products focus on prepaid mobile data and that voice or SMS depends on the plan and destination. Treat a package as data-only unless the checkout explicitly lists a number, voice minutes or messages.
WhatsApp can usually keep the account tied to the normal number while using travel data on a dual-SIM phone. That does not turn the AloFor profile into a local phone line or guarantee that a bank will send a code over an internet messaging app.
Travelers who leave the home SIM enabled for SMS should select the travel eSIM for mobile data and review the home carrier's roaming charges. A data eSIM does not prevent the other line from placing or receiving chargeable calls.
Refund wording leaves decisions to the order state
AloFor's refund page says eligibility depends on order status, activation and applicable law. Before activation or consumption, customers should contact support promptly. After installation or data use begins, refunds may be limited because digital delivery has started.
The page does not publish a fixed request deadline, processing time or complete list of technical-failure remedies. Check compatibility and carrier lock before payment, then ask support before deleting a profile that fails to connect. Deletion can remove information needed for troubleshooting and does not itself request a refund.
