Escape Halloween 2026: train, shuttle and parking guide

Metrolink says its $25 Escape Halloween train ticket goes on sale October 1, 2026, exclusively in the Metrolink app. The festival runs October 30 and 31 at the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino. If you plan to return toward Los Angeles after the music, check the two different late-train departure times before choosing a train, shuttle or car.

The train and event admission are separate purchases. A Metrolink ticket will not get you into Escape, and a festival ticket does not cover the train.

When does the Escape Halloween train ticket go on sale?

Metrolink's 2026 event page says its Insomniac Events special ticket becomes available October 1 in the Metrolink mobile app. It costs $25 and permits unlimited travel on regular Metrolink trains from Friday, October 30, through Sunday, November 1, plus the special late-night return train. The operator says the ticket itself does not sell out, but space on the special service is limited. Do not treat that as a guaranteed seat.

In the app, choose your origin and San Bernardino - Downtown as the destination, then select Insomniac Events as the ticket type. The ticket sits in the app wallet; a confirmation email is not valid for boarding. Activate it before boarding. Metrolink says these mobile tickets cannot be transferred to another person, so anyone buying for a group should read its rules before paying.

Use the festival's ticket page or its official Front Gate checkout for admission. The event is 18+, and VIP access is 21+. Admission prices and tiers can change, so check the total at checkout rather than using an old screenshot.

Which late train gets you home?

The return train departs San Bernardino - Downtown, not the event gate. Metrolink lists these departures:

Both trains stop at Fontana, Rancho Cucamonga, Upland, Montclair, Claremont, Pomona - North, Covina, El Monte and Cal State L.A. before Union Station. They do not stop at the Arrow stations in San Bernardino or Redlands. You can use Arrow for an inbound journey, but do not assume it will take you home on the special return.

The festival lists its main hours as 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. on both dates, with a separate afterparty from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. That makes the first train a possible post-show return, but the second departure is especially time-sensitive. Daylight saving time ends on November 1. The official Metrolink timetable lists 2:00 a.m. for that morning; check the operator's live event page again in the week of travel and follow its posted instructions. Do not calculate your own departure from an old festival post or an automatically adjusted phone clock.

Metrolink's route map shows a walk from San Bernardino-Downtown station to the NOS Events Center entrance. It does not provide a station-to-gate shuttle. Save the operator's walking map before you travel, keep your group together after dark and leave enough time to reach the platform. A regular inbound train and the late return are different timetable decisions.

Train or shuttle: which fits your night?

The train is the clearest fixed-price option if you can reach a San Bernardino Line station, your return stop is listed and you intend to leave near the end of the main show. It also avoids depending on a rideshare pickup amid a large exit crowd. It is less useful if your hotel is far from a train stop, you need an accessible door-to-door arrangement, or you want to stay for the full afterparty.

Escape's official shuttle page lists city coaches from Downtown LA/USC, Fullerton, Granada Hills and Riverside. These are not continuous buses: check the departure at your chosen stop. The Ontario hotel shuttle is different, with repeated trips from a specified hotel near the airport. The organizer currently lists a 2:30 a.m. last return for that hotel service. Buy only through the festival's official ticket channel and confirm the live pickup instructions before leaving.

If you have already purchased a shuttle pass, do not assume it can be exchanged for a Metrolink ticket. Check the seller's refund terms first. And if you plan to attend the afterparty, neither the listed special trains nor an earlier shuttle departure automatically cover a 6 a.m. exit. Arrange that trip before the event.

Where to park and meet a ride at Escape

Escape's parking page says several general lots are free. Green and Blue general lots, along with Pink premier and accessible parking, open at 1:30 p.m.; other lots open at 2:30 p.m. The current map and traffic directions matter more than a generic address in a navigation app. The organizer advises against street parking around the venue and says vehicles must leave the lots at the end of each festival day.

The same page warns that rideshare pickups can face long waits, surge pricing and limited availability. Its designated rideshare and guest drop-off area is near Big Lots, accessed from South E Street behind Target. Save the pickup point before entering the grounds; mobile data alone cannot make a driver available. An arranged ride or prebooked shuttle may be easier for a group than finding each other outside the gate.

The festival's accessibility guide places accessible parking in the Pink lot and describes an accessible entry lane. Contact the organizer or shuttle provider for your specific transfer needs. Do not assume the station walk or a particular shuttle is accessible for every visitor.

Tickets, phone and arrival checklist

• Buy festival admission and transport separately. The special train ticket starts selling October 1 in the Metrolink app.
• Confirm your outbound train, shuttle stop or parking lot before you leave. The regular inbound train timetable is not the same as the late return.
• Save the Metrolink ticket in its app wallet and activate it before boarding. Keep a screenshot of the route and your group's meeting point, but use the actual ticket in the app.
• Check the organizer's hours and entry policy for ID, bag and costume rules. The festival says entry includes a thorough security search; do not rely on another attendee's experience.
• Recheck the official train page, shuttle page, parking map and festival app in the week before October 30. A 2025 page on the organizer's site still describes last year's train, so use Metrolink's 2026 page for this year's departures.

For an international visitor, mobile data can help load the Metrolink ticket, follow a changed pickup point and message friends after the show. OpenSim's United States plans provide a country-specific data option for a compatible phone; the live catalog listed a 10GB, 30-day plan at $12.08 on September 30. Its price and availability can change. Check phone compatibility, when to install an eSIM and how much data your trip needs before choosing a plan. A local SIM or existing roaming plan may suit you better; none can guarantee signal inside a crowded venue.
