Traveler paying for mobile data with a phone wallet at an airport

Fizen has added credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay to its travel eSIM checkout. The September 5 update means buyers no longer need USDT in a Fizen wallet to pay for mobile data.

The change removes a real purchase barrier, but it does not alter the selected plan. Coverage, allowance, validity, hotspot support and refund eligibility still vary by package. Fizen also says its eSIM service is not offered to US Persons.

The traveler answer: Fizen's new checkout is easier for people who already use a card or mobile wallet. Check the final total, issuer fees and package terms before paying. Roaming eSIM remains the clearer choice when you want public network, speed and top-up fields before opening an app.

What changed in Fizen's eSIM checkout

Fizen's current payment screen presents two routes:

  • USDT from a Fizen wallet balance; or
  • a Stripe checkout for cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Apple Pay or Google Pay appears only when the device, browser, country and saved payment card support it. Selecting the card route does not guarantee that every wallet button will appear.

Fizen says promotional eSIM credit is applied before the payment method is selected. The discount and total should therefore be visible before the buyer leaves for Stripe. Taxes, the card issuer's exchange rate and any foreign-transaction fee can still change the amount charged.

Why mobile-wallet payment can help after landing

A conventional card payment may trigger 3-D Secure or another bank check. Some banks send a one-time code to the usual phone number. That can be awkward when the home line is off or has no service abroad.

Apple Pay and Google Pay commonly use device authentication, but they do not guarantee approval. The bank can still decline a transaction, restrict an overseas purchase or require another check. Set up the wallet before departure and keep a second payment method available.

Buying before the flight is safer than depending on airport Wi-Fi and a new payment path after landing. Install according to the package's start rule, then save the order number and support route offline.

Fizen eSIM remains data-only

Fizen says the travel profile supplies data, not a local number, carrier voice minutes or SMS. Keep the usual SIM active if calls or verification texts matter, subject to the home carrier's roaming charges.

Select the travel profile for mobile data and disable automatic data switching if the phone might fall back to the home line. Our calls and SMS guide explains the two-line setup.

Fizen also advises travelers going to mainland China to complete the setup before arrival because its activation page may not be reachable there. That is a provider-specific access warning, not a promise that every travel app or website works on every network.

Most Fizen plans cannot be topped up

Fizen says most of its current eSIMs are not reloadable. A customer who uses the allowance may need to buy and install another profile.

That matters more than the payment update. A fast Apple Pay checkout does not preserve the existing connection when the replacement requires a fresh installation. Estimate the trip first with the travel data calculator and check the package detail for any exception.

Refunds depend on the plan and order state

Fizen describes a trip guarantee for a fault attributed to its service, with troubleshooting before a replacement or refund. It also says an unused, unactivated eSIM may be returnable depending on the package.

Do not assume Apple Pay or Google Pay creates a separate refund policy. The merchant decides eligibility, Stripe processes the payment route, and the bank or wallet handles the return after Fizen approves it. Keep the order ID, device model, ICCID and screenshots when reporting a problem.

Fizen or Roaming eSIM: which checkout is clearer?

Fizen now offers a useful choice between a crypto balance and familiar card rails. It also publishes a welcome-credit system, but its account, country and percentage limits need to be read before treating credit as cash.

Roaming eSIM's public catalog exposes the selected package's allowance, validity, listed network speed, operators and top-up field before checkout. Its support route is available 24/7. Those fields are more useful than a payment logo when deciding whether a plan fits.

πŸ† Roaming eSIM wins on public package transparency: compare the destination, operators and reloadability before paying. Fizen wins when its wallet checkout is available, its final total is lower and the exact plan terms suit the trip.

Payment convenience does not prove a lower price or better coverage. Compare matched allowances in the same currency and confirm the final amount on both screens.

Roaming eSIM plans to compare with Fizen

For a broad itinerary, compare the live country list on the Global 120 Areas Roaming eSIM. A Europe-only trip can use the Europe Roaming eSIM, while single-country routes can start with Japan or Thailand.

The public catalog check on September 7 found Thailand fixed-data plans from 1GB for seven days through larger 30-day options, with AIS, DTAC and TrueMove H listed on the sampled package. Prices and availability can change, so the live product card controls the purchase.

Ten questions about Fizen eSIM payments

Can I pay for a Fizen eSIM with a normal card?

Yes. Fizen now sends credit and debit card payments through Stripe.

Does Fizen eSIM accept Apple Pay?

Yes when Apple Pay is available for the device, browser, location and saved card. The button may not appear in every checkout.

Does Fizen eSIM accept Google Pay?

Yes under the same availability condition. Choose the card and wallet route, then check what Stripe displays.

Do I need cryptocurrency to buy a Fizen eSIM?

No. USDT remains an option, but cards and supported mobile wallets can now be used instead.

Will the price be identical for every payment method?

Fizen says its credit applies before payment selection. A card issuer can still add conversion or foreign-transaction costs.

Can a bank still decline Apple Pay or Google Pay?

Yes. A mobile wallet changes the authentication route, not the bank's approval decision.

Does the Fizen eSIM include calls or SMS?

No. Fizen describes it as data-only. Keep the normal line available if native calls or texts are required.

Can I top up the same Fizen profile?

Usually not. Fizen says most plans require a new eSIM when the allowance runs out. Check the selected package.

Can I get a refund to Apple Pay or Google Pay?

Only after Fizen approves an eligible refund. The return then follows the original payment route and bank timing.

Is Fizen eSIM available to US Persons?

No. Fizen's current terms state that the service is not offered to US Persons.

Fizen payment update source record

Fizen's September 5 product update establishes the new card, Apple Pay and Google Pay checkout, Stripe processing, USDT alternative, data-only service, top-up limits and US Person exclusion. Fizen's welcome-credit rules control any credit shown in the account.

Update policy: We will update this page if Fizen changes payment methods, geographic availability, card fees, wallet behavior, credit rules, voice service, top-up eligibility or refund terms.
