FlexiRoam and Dragonpass add a 3GB hotel loyalty eSIM reward

FlexiRoam has signed a two-year connectivity agreement with Dragonpass that will put a travel eSIM reward inside a major hotel loyalty program. The first campaign gives eligible new members 3GB of global data for 10 consecutive days in more than 150 countries.
The reward is useful, but it is not a public plan that every hotel guest can claim. The hotel group has not been named, the campaign runs for three months, and neither company has published the participating loyalty tier, enrollment route or complete country list.
The traveler answer: claim the reward if it appears in your hotel enrollment flow, then check whether 3GB, 10 days and the published destination list cover the trip. Buy a separate Roaming eSIM when you need more data, a longer validity period or a clearly listed country or regional plan.
What FlexiRoam and Dragonpass announced
The September 4 market announcement says FlexiRoam Asia and Dragonpass Global signed a two-year Connectivity Partnership Agreement. Dragonpass can embed FlexiRoam data entitlements into offers distributed through its enterprise clients and partner programs.
The first use case is a three-month acquisition campaign for one of the world's largest hotel loyalty programs. New members in the eligible flow receive:
- 3GB of mobile data;
- 10 consecutive days of validity;
- coverage described as more than 150 countries; and
- activation through a FlexiRoam microsite and WhatsApp assistant, without a required app download.
Dragonpass may provide the data reward by itself or combine it with lounge access, fast-track service or another benefit. That does not mean a standard Dragonpass membership automatically includes the eSIM.
The hotel group and customer rules are not public yet
The announcement calls the customer a top-three global hotel group but does not name it. The hotel company is not a party to the FlexiRoam and Dragonpass agreement. Travelers therefore cannot reliably search a hotel brand, join a program and assume the reward will appear.
Several buying details also remain unpublished:
- which countries can enroll;
- whether existing loyalty members qualify;
- the date the three-month campaign starts and ends;
- whether a payment method or paid stay is required;
- the full destination list;
- hotspot support;
- the activation deadline; and
- what happens after 3GB or day 10.
These are conditions to check in the actual invitation. They are not reasons to dismiss the reward, but they prevent the broad claim that Dragonpass now gives every member free global data.
Is 3GB enough for a hotel trip?
Three gigabytes can cover maps, messaging, ride booking, email and moderate browsing for a short trip. Video calls, automatic photo backups, laptop tethering and streaming can consume it much faster.
The 10-day clock is equally important. A 12-day trip can outlast the reward even when data remains. A traveler joining the loyalty program well before departure should not activate until the campaign instructions make the start event clear.
Use our travel data calculator to estimate the allowance. Keep automatic app updates and cloud backups off mobile data if the reward is the only connection available.
A reward eSIM does not replace destination checks
βMore than 150 countriesβ is a portfolio claim, not proof that every stop on a route is included. Check the published list for each country, including airport connections and border crossings. A regional plan may be simpler when one itinerary covers several nearby markets.
The phone must also be eSIM-compatible and carrier-unlocked. Run the eSIM compatibility check before depending on the hotel benefit, especially if the traveler is receiving the reward shortly before departure.
Most travel eSIMs provide data rather than a local telephone number. Until the reward terms say otherwise, plan to keep the home SIM available for calls and SMS and use the reward for mobile data. Our calls and SMS guide explains the dual-SIM setup.
FlexiRoam reward or Roaming eSIM: which fits the trip?
The FlexiRoam reward wins when it is genuinely included with a loyalty enrollment and its allowance, validity and coverage match the trip. Free data should be used before paying for an overlapping plan.
Roaming eSIM has the advantage when the traveler needs to choose independently. Its public catalog shows destination, allowance type, validity, retail price, network generation, listed operators and top-up status on the selected package.
π Roaming eSIM wins on choice and visible plan terms: the hotel benefit has one fixed 3GB and 10-day shape, while Roaming eSIM lets travelers compare country, regional and global options before checkout. The reward wins on price for an eligible member because its data is included.
Install either option while reliable Wi-Fi is available, but confirm when validity begins. Installation timing and activation are separate events on many products.
Compare independent Roaming eSIM plans
A global Roaming eSIM is the closest independent comparison for a wide itinerary. Travelers staying within one area can compare a Europe Roaming eSIM, North America Roaming eSIM or Asia Roaming eSIM.
Check the exact coverage list. A regional name does not guarantee every country or territory is included.
Ten questions travelers should ask about the hotel eSIM reward
Which hotel loyalty program includes the reward?
It has not been named publicly. Use only an offer shown by the hotel program or Dragonpass, not an unaffiliated coupon page.
Do existing loyalty members qualify?
The announcement describes a new-member reward. It does not confirm eligibility for existing members.
Does every Dragonpass member receive 3GB?
No such universal benefit has been announced. The first campaign belongs to a specific partner-program flow.
When does the 10-day period start?
The public announcement does not define the activation event. Read the claim page before installing or switching the line on.
Where can travelers use the 3GB reward?
FlexiRoam says more than 150 countries for this reward, but the complete campaign list was not published in the checked announcement.
Can the 3GB be shared by hotspot?
Hotspot support is not stated in the public campaign details. Confirm it before relying on the reward for a laptop or another traveler.
Is the hotel reward data-only?
The announcement specifies mobile data and does not promise voice, SMS or a telephone number.
Can more data be added to the same eSIM?
The campaign announcement does not explain top-ups. Check the claim account before assuming the reward profile can be reloaded.
Is an app required?
FlexiRoam says activation uses a microsite and WhatsApp assistant, with no app download required.
Should an eligible traveler still buy another eSIM?
Only when the reward falls short on destination, allowance, validity or a needed feature. Avoid buying duplicate data without comparing both terms.
