JAZZMADRID 2026: free events, concert tickets and travel

JAZZMADRID runs across Madrid from October 2 to November 30, 2026, with separately listed concerts at theatres, cultural centres and clubs. For a free November outing, Barba Dixie Band starts a street performance at CentroCentro on November 5 at 18:00. Indoor concerts need their own ticket checks.

The official tourism overview brings together the municipal programme and partner series, including Villanos del Jazz and Jazz con sabor a Club. Treat it as a citywide programme, not a single festival enclosure with one entrance.

Choose the music first, then check the date and venue. A headline artist may play on a weekday several weeks after your visit, and a series name does not necessarily identify the building where the concert takes place.

The free November 5 street performance

The Barba Dixie Band event page lists a free performance from CentroCentro to Fernán Gómez at 18:00 on November 5. The marching-band format gives visitors a way to hear live music without committing to a theatre ticket.

Check the starting point and the current announcement before setting off. The organizer links physical access to the accessibility of the public street. That does not establish a reserved viewing area, guaranteed seating or a step-free position along the whole moving performance.

Keep the group's meeting point clear if someone stops for food or loses sight of the band. Leave room for other pedestrians and use crossings rather than following the music into traffic. For children, a shorter outdoor stop may be easier to manage than a late club show; check weather and crowd conditions on the day.

This is a free street event, not free admission to the indoor concert later that evening. A shared festival name does not combine those entry arrangements.

Four November concerts to compare

These published listings offer different musical starting points. Prices are the advertised starting amounts checked October 15, not a promise of remaining seats or a final checkout total.

ConcertDate and timeVenueListed from
Emmet Cohen: Miles & Coltrane at 100November 5, 20:00Fernán GómezEUR30

Caminero CuartetoNovember 15, 19:00CentroCentroEUR20
Cécile McLorin Salvant and Sullivan FortnerNovember 24, 20:00Fernán GómezEUR35

Cohen's concert marks the birth centenaries of Miles Davis and John Coltrane. It is a useful choice if you want that repertoire to frame the evening rather than simply choosing the nearest available show.

For a jazz-and-flamenco connection, read the Colom listing: Amador contributes piano and cante. Caminero's quartet puts double bass alongside saxophone, piano and drums. These are distinct lineups, so listen to the musicians' recordings before deciding which suits you.

The McLorin Salvant and Fortner concert is a voice-and-piano pairing. If that is your reason for travelling, check the actual November 24 booking before reserving transport; it is not part of the earlier November weekend options above.

None of these descriptions is a review of a performance we have attended. The aim is to help you narrow the programme, then use the organizer's details to make the booking.

How much should you budget for concert tickets?

At the advertised starting prices, the two CentroCentro concerts above total EUR40 for one person, while Cohen plus McLorin Salvant and Fortner total EUR65. They occur on different dates, so neither combination is a one-night itinerary.

Start with the festival ticket page, which directs visitors to the selected concert and its seller. Check the full basket amount, seat or standing arrangement, concession eligibility and any accompanying-person conditions before paying.

Do not assume that a ticket for one partner series admits you to another, or that a drink purchase replaces an entry ticket. A low advertised starting price can also refer to only some seats. Compare the places you would actually book, not just the cheapest amount in a calendar.

For a casual visit, one confirmed concert may be enough. Spending the rest of the evening over dinner is often more realistic than trying to add a second show whose finish time or entry conditions you have not checked.

CentroCentro and Fernán Gómez are different venues

The CentroCentro venue information gives Plaza de Cibeles 1, with Banco de España, Metro line 2, as a useful station. The concert auditorium is below ground level; the building's rooftop viewpoint is a separate activity.

The Fernán Gómez venue information gives Plaza de Colón 4, with Colón or Serrano, line 4, and Madrid-Recoletos for local trains. Save the actual entrance as well as the postal address, particularly when arranging an accessible arrival.

Fernán GómezPlaza de Colón 4It is the same location as the street show's starting point
Villanos del Jazz or another partner seriesThe venue named on that concert's ticketThe series always uses one club

Check the route from your accommodation to the named building. Leave time to collect a ticket, find the auditorium and use the toilet. For a visitor unfamiliar with Madrid, that is more useful than treating the map's fastest walking estimate as the latest possible departure.

Accessibility and seating need a concert-specific check

The festival access guidance uses icons and filters to identify provisions by event. For activities offering hearing equipment or vibrating backpacks, it recommends arriving at least 20 minutes early to collect equipment, which is allocated in arrival order while supplies last.

The access contact is [email protected]. Ask about your selected concert, device compatibility and the route to your seat. An icon in a listing does not establish that every seat has the same hearing support or that equipment is reserved automatically.

For Fernán Gómez, the tourism page identifies wheelchair entry via Paseo de la Castellana at the corner of Calle Goya. It also gives seating guidance for hearing-loop users. Check that with the ticket team before choosing seats, rather than buying the cheapest section and discovering it does not suit your needs.

If you need to sit throughout a show, confirm the arrangement for that venue. Do not infer theatre seating from an artist's style or assume a club's tables are included in every admission category.

Planning a shorter visit with children or friends

A free outdoor performance and a meal can be a complete outing. For an indoor concert, check age conditions, running time and whether each child needs a separate ticket. A venue that hosts children's shows at other times does not make every jazz concert a children's event.

Keep a realistic gap before the music starts. A long sightseeing day followed by dinner and a concert can be tiring, particularly if the group has arrived that morning. Choose one priority and keep the rest flexible.

Use the Spain with kids guide for the wider holiday. For another November activity, the Madrid Science Week guide covers a different programme with its own age and reservation requirements. Neither replaces a jazz concert ticket.

Useful apps and the journey home

EMT's Mobility Labs app directory describes EMT BUS for nearby stops, route calculation and bus waiting times, plus NavegaPorMadrid for bus routes and service incidents. Check the return journey before entering the venue; a concert ticket does not extend the transport operating day.

For ticket loading, use CRTM's current app and fare guidance. It lists Mi Tarjeta Transporte for Android and Tarjeta Transporte on iOS for loading physical cards. Do not assume the same app name or virtual-card function works on every phone. Check your device and chosen fare before relying on mobile validation.

Save the venue address, ticket instructions and a backup route. Keep enough phone battery to retrieve the ticket and get home. A saved map can help with orientation, but refresh live information for service changes; do not reuse a summer festival's special late-night Metro arrangements for this event.

Mobile data for a Madrid concert trip

At our October 15 check, OpenSim's Spain 5GB plan cost USD4.76 for 30 days and supported top-up. The Spain plan page lists current choices. A fixed allowance with eligible top-up can suit an overseas visitor checking tickets, bus information and a meeting point away from accommodation Wi-Fi.

Your home plan's included roaming may already be sufficient. Compare it first. OpenSim does not supply concert admission, a transport ticket or guaranteed reception inside every venue.

For the rest of the trip, use the travel data calculator, check phone compatibility and review when to install a travel eSIM.

Madrid jazz sources and photograph

Programme, prices, venues, access and app information were checked October 15, 2026, using the festival, Madrid's official tourism service, EMT and CRTM. Recheck the selected concert before paying and before travelling. This guide covers the 2026 programme and will be reviewed for material artist, ticket, venue, access or transport changes.
