LEVITATION 2026 Austin guide: venue change, passes and transport

LEVITATION 2026 runs in Austin from Thursday, September 10 through Sunday, September 13. The most important late change is the address: the main Friday, Saturday and Sunday lineups moved from Radio/East to The Far Out Lounge at 8504 South Congress Avenue. Downtown and central Austin shows still use separate venues.

That split changes the weekend. The Far Out is in South Austin, while Stubb's, Mohawk, Elysium, 13th Floor and other rooms are several miles away. A schedule that works on paper may fail if it assumes every show is walkable.

The useful plan: treat The Far Out and the downtown venues as separate trips. Save each ticket and set time, check exactly which venues your pass covers, and choose either route 801 or a designated rideshare point before leaving. Do not navigate to Radio/East for the main Friday to Sunday program.

LEVITATION moved from Radio/East to The Far Out Lounge

The organizer announced on August 28 that the three main programs originally booked for Radio/East would move to The Far Out Lounge. It said the lineups and schedules would remain the same. The current LEVITATION guide now identifies The Far Out as the central hub.

Older search results can still be wrong. Some set-time articles, hotel event pages and preview guides were published before the change and continue to name Radio/East. Even the official page contains some older ticket wording beside current Far Out information. Use the current venue block and Know Before You Go section as the operational source.

If your accommodation was chosen for a walk to Radio/East, recalculate every main-day journey. Do not assume that a ticket, hotel calendar entry or saved map pin updated automatically.

Which LEVITATION pass covers which venues?

LEVITATION is not one gated site with every performance inside it. The festival combines the large Far Out programs with separately ticketed shows across Austin. A pass name alone does not prove entry to every listed event.

The organizer's current pass explanation says a four-day GA pass covers The Far Out, Stubb's, Mohawk and Hotel Vegas, while a four-day Deluxe pass covers all festival venues. Three-day Far Out and single-day tickets apply to the product and day shown on the ticket. Individual downtown shows also have their own ticket inventory.

Before building a route, open the ticket confirmation and answer three questions:

1. Is this a four-day wristband, a three-day Far Out pass or one show ticket?
2. Is the target venue explicitly included with that product?
3. Does the ticket guarantee entry, or is capacity still controlled by the room?

Do not buy an unofficial screenshot from a stranger. LEVITATION identifies Tixel as its official ticket exchange and directs ticket questions to its own support address.

Wristband pickup and entry at The Far Out

Four-day pass holders can collect a wristband from 5 p.m. on Thursday at 13th Floor, 711 Red River Street. Anyone who misses that window can use the Far Out pickup from Friday. The Far Out box office and doors open at 3:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Open the See Tickets barcode before reaching the entrance, or carry a printed copy. If the confirmation cannot be found, the organizer says customer service can check the order with photo ID.

GA three-day and single-day ticket holders use the south-side main entrance. Deluxe ticket holders and guests use the north entrance from Ralph Ablanedo Drive. Visitors needing ADA access should also report to the Deluxe and Guest line.

How to reach The Far Out without general parking

There is no general festival parking at The Far Out. Limited paid valet is intended for early arrivals and can fill, so it is not a dependable fallback for a fixed set time.

The organizer recommends Rapid route 801 from downtown and names Southpark Meadows, South Congress and Westgate as Park and Ride options. CapMetro's live trip planner is more useful than an old timetable because it can reflect the selected day, stop and service alerts. Enter the full venue address, not only the festival name.

For rideshare, the published pickup and drop-off point is at the northwest corner of the property, reached from South Congress and Ralph Ablanedo Drive. Save that pin before the last set. A driver meeting you at the main pedestrian entrance can add confusion when the crowd leaves together.

CapMetro currently uses the Transit app for live planning and the Umo app for mobile fares. Contactless payment is also available on supported services. Keep enough battery for the return, but save the route and stop in case live data slows.

Do not overbook a Far Out to downtown transfer

Most downtown and Red River venues sit close enough to combine on foot. The Far Out does not. A plan that ends one set in South Austin and starts another downtown a few minutes later has no recovery time for exits, traffic, security or a full room.

Build each evening around one anchor area:

• Far Out evening: stay for the main two-stage program and avoid a speculative late transfer.
• Red River evening: combine nearby venues only after checking what the pass admits.
• One deliberate crossover: leave a meaningful gap, save both addresses and accept that the second show may have a queue.

Venue rules also differ. The Far Out bag and age rules below do not automatically apply at Stubb's, Mohawk, Hotel Vegas or another room. Check the linked venue page from the official guide before setting out.

LEVITATION bag, age and re-entry rules at The Far Out

The Far Out allows small purse-size bags and record totes, but not normal backpacks or larger bags. Listed exceptions include a single-pocket record tote up to 16 by 16 inches, a reusable poster tube, a small clutch or waist pack up to 5.5 by 4.5 inches, a one-gallon clear zip bag, a drawstring or clear backpack with one extra pocket, and an empty hydration pack with one extra pocket.

Umbrellas, chairs, wagons, strollers, outside food and alcohol, detachable-lens cameras, drones and weapons are among the prohibited items. Every bag is subject to search. Read the official list again on the day if an item is important.

The Far Out program is 18 and over unless the attendee is with a parent or legal guardian. Children aged eight and under do not need a Far Out ticket, with one child per adult, and the organizer requires suitable hearing protection. Some downtown shows are 21 and over, including 13th Floor and Kingdom. Everyone should carry accepted physical identification.

Re-entry at The Far Out is restricted to people over 21. That makes a charger, medication, earplugs and a light rain layer worth sorting before entry.

Water, weather, footwear and accessibility

The festival says free water is available at all venues. The Far Out grounds include outdoor surfaces, and visitor discussions repeatedly raise gravel, long periods of standing, heat and limited shade as practical concerns. The organizer said it was adding shade, misters and seating after the venue move, but these measures do not turn the site into an indoor venue.

Wear shoes that are comfortable on uneven ground. Bring an empty permitted hydration pack or bottle only if the current rules allow its exact form. Umbrellas are prohibited, so a packable rain layer is the better weather backup. Check the current National Weather Service forecast on the morning you attend rather than relying on a September average.

The organizer directs GA and Deluxe visitors who need ADA access to the Deluxe and Guest entrance. A medical and safety tent is inside near the box office. Anyone who needs a specific viewing, surface, service-animal or communication arrangement should contact LEVITATION directly before travel. The public guide does not justify assuming that every route and viewing area will suit every mobility need.

Mobile data and Roaming eSIM for an Austin festival trip

The useful mobile-data moments happen outside the stage area: opening a ticket before the gate, checking route 801, finding the designated rideshare point and telling friends that the next show is at a different venue. No mobile provider can guarantee normal capacity in a festival crowd, so screenshots and a written meeting point still matter.
