Wooden dhows in Doha harbour with the city waterfront behind them in January 2023

Qatar Boat Show runs from November 4 to 7, 2026, at Old Doha Port, opening at 4pm each day. For a first visit, choose your evening and check the admission conditions before buying: the organizer requires full-price tickets for children and does not permit strollers on the marina. A general-admission ticket also should not be treated as permission to board every yacht or attend an invited launch.

The third edition combines marine displays with a waterfront evening out. In its October 31 announcement through Qatar News Agency, Old Doha Port confirmed preparations were complete and described fishing equipment, film screenings, live music and evening displays alongside the boats. You do not need to be shopping for a yacht to find a reason to visit. You do need to separate the public programme from industry appointments.

All event times below are local to Doha.

Qatar Boat Show dates and daily hours

The official show timetable gives Thursday and Friday an extra hour compared with opening and closing day:

DatePublic opening hoursPlanning consideration
Wednesday, November 44pm-9pmOpening evening; distinguish public entertainment from invited presentations
Thursday, November 54pm-10pmLonger visiting window if you want time for displays and dinner
Friday, November 64pm-10pmThe same longer window; choose by the day's programme rather than assuming identical activities
Saturday, November 74pm-9pmFinal evening, with an earlier close than Friday

Arriving near opening gives you time to find your way around before settling on an evening activity. Do not plan your arrival for the fireworks start alone: you still need to reach the right entrance, complete admission and find a suitable place to stand.

If you have one free evening in Doha, a day ticket is the straightforward starting point. A four-day pass makes more sense for repeat visits or several appointments than for a short stopover.

Day ticket, four-day pass or hospitality?

Old Doha Port's ticket announcement, reported by The Peninsula on September 20, lists these prices. Confirm the current total and availability through the official ticket page before payment.

OptionAdvertised priceReason to consider it
General admission, one dayQAR 50 per personOne evening at the show
General admission, four daysQAR 160 per personReturning across November 4-7
Hospitality, one dayQAR 450 per personThe announced lounge, VIP registration area and VIP parking benefits

At the advertised rates, two separate general-admission days cost QAR 100 and three cost QAR 150. Both are below the QAR 160 pass. Four individual days cost QAR 200, so the pass saves QAR 40 only when compared with attending all four days. Fees or checkout changes can affect the final amount.

Hospitality costs substantially more than general admission. Decide whether its specific benefits matter to your visit; it is not necessary simply because the event displays expensive boats. Nor should its name be read as a promise of private access to every vessel.

The organizer says ordinary tickets allow one entry on the stated day. For a multi-day pass, confirm the daily entry and re-entry conditions before building a plan around leaving and returning.

Visiting with children: tickets and the marina stroller rule

The organizer's published ticket conditions say every child needs a full-price ticket. Children under 12 must have an accompanying adult to enter the marina. Budget accordingly rather than assuming an under-12 discount from another listing. At the advertised day rate, two adults and two children would need QAR 200 in general-admission tickets, before any additional charges.

Strollers are not permitted on the marina. That wording concerns the marina, not a confirmed ban across every nearby street or port area. Ask the organizer about your intended route and any storage arrangements before bringing a stroller; do not arrive assuming storage is provided.

Choose a visit that suits how long your children can walk or wait. If a particular activity is the reason for going, check its age conditions and timing separately. A family activity in the programme does not establish that every vessel or presentation is suitable for children.

For a longer trip, our Qatar with kids guide covers the wider country itinerary. Keep that sightseeing plan separate from what your boat-show ticket includes.

What can you see without a yacht-buying appointment?

The port's announcement describes marine equipment, fishing displays and a daily film programme with the Doha Film Institute, as well as boats on the water. Those give a casual visitor alternatives to spending the whole evening queueing for a vessel.

For opening day, The Peninsula's November 4 report lists fireworks and a pyro-drone show at 7:30pm, followed by Song of the Sea at 7:45pm. Confirm the screening location, access and any changes in the on-site programme. These are reported opening-night times, not a timetable for every night.

The same report describes a yacht unveiling and guided tour for invited guests and media. That is different from buying an ordinary visitor ticket. If a specific boat matters to you, ask its exhibitor about boarding permission, appointments, queues and any restrictions before making it the centerpiece of your evening.

Do not treat a display ticket as a boat trip or charter booking. Ask exactly what an experience includes before paying for anything additional.

Use the Containers Yard public entrance

The official FAQ identifies the Containers Yard entrance, Public Entrance 1, for ordinary visitors. Hospitality and invited guests have a separate VIP entrance. The F&B entrance, Entrance 2, requires a valid ticket, badge or wristband; it is not a public admission shortcut.

Save the official show map before leaving your accommodation. Old Doha Port is a large destination: a generic marina or cruise-terminal pin may not put you at the correct gate.

The FAQ says tickets can be bought in advance or at the public entrance on show days. That is not a guarantee that your preferred ticket remains available. If the online purchase link does not complete your booking, contact the ticket support listed by the organizer, +974 4430 2000, before traveling specifically for admission.

Purchases are final under the ticket conditions: no refunds, exchanges, amendments or moves to another date. Check the date, number of people and ticket type before paying. Keep the confirmation accessible, but follow any requirement for a live ticket rather than assuming a screenshot alone is accepted.

Getting to Old Doha Port and getting home

Visit Qatar's port guidance names Souq Waqif and National Museum as nearby metro stops and lists Karwa taxis as another option. These are links to the port area, not a station platform beside the show entrance. Check the remaining journey to Containers Yard and the current service home.

Doha Port is different from Hamad Port, the seaport south of Doha. Give a driver the event entrance or map pin, not simply the word "port." Hamad International Airport is a third location; do not confuse its name with the show venue either.

The organizer's parking map marks Visitor A and Visitor B separately from VIP, media and exhibitor areas. It also marks a taxi/shared-ride drop-off area. Follow the current signage; the map does not guarantee an available space or establish that every parking area is free.

Choose a return meeting point before entering. After an evening display, it is easier to agree on one saved location than to have several people ordering cars to different gates. Check the permitted pickup point before walking out, and keep enough battery for the journey back.

Do not base your return on an old water-shuttle article. Confirm a current sailing, boarding point, fare and last departure directly before relying on a boat transfer. Until those are confirmed, plan a return by land.

A manageable evening plan

For a casual visit, start with the display or activity you care about most. See the marine areas at your own pace, leave room for food, then decide whether to stay for the evening programme. You do not need to visit every stand to justify one evening's admission.

If visiting on November 4 for the reported 7:30pm display, arrive with a margin rather than trying to reach the gate at 7:25pm. For November 5-7, check that day's notices instead of carrying opening-night timings forward.

Wear comfortable walking shoes and clothing that respects local customs, as the organizer requests. If you lose something, its FAQ places Lost & Found near the public entrance. For mobility needs, ask about the full route, boarding surfaces and assistance before booking; a public event is not proof that every pontoon or yacht is step-free.

Phone preparation and mobile data for Doha

Save the entrance map, accommodation address and ticket confirmation before setting out. Keep a live connection available for transport changes and messages, with an agreed meeting place if someone loses service. Visit Qatar advertises Wi-Fi at the Grand Cruise Terminal; that does not establish Wi-Fi coverage throughout the show marina.

OpenSim's Qatar plans provide a separate allowance for those tasks. The November 4 public catalog lists 1GB for 7 days at USD 3.26 and 3GB for 15 days at USD 8.72, both eligible for top-up. A defined allowance can suit a short Doha visit when you want to compare a known data purchase with your home operator's roaming terms.

It does not include show admission or guarantee a connection in every crowd. Do not assume a Qatar data allowance covers an offshore trip. Your existing plan may already include enough Qatar roaming, in which case another purchase may be unnecessary.

Use the travel data calculator to estimate your wider trip, check phone compatibility, and read when to install before travel. Choose for the whole stay, not just the few hours spent at the show.

Sources and updates

Qatar Boat Show supplies the daily hours, entry rules, entrance guidance and venue maps. Old Doha Port's QNA announcement describes the programme; The Peninsula reports the ticket announcement and opening-night activities. Visit Qatar supplies the broader port transport context. Changes to 2026 admission, prices, programme, access or transport will trigger an update, followed by a review after November 7.
