Rali Ceredigion runs from Friday, September 4 to Sunday, September 6, 2026, across Aberystwyth, Ceredigion and Powys. The free Rali Show and ceremonial start happen one evening earlier, from 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, at Aberystwyth Bandstand.

The hard part is not finding a fast car. It is choosing one legal spectator area and reaching it before the road closes. Thursday: the easiest free introduction

The Rali Show opens at Aberystwyth Bandstand at 4:30 p.m. on September 3. The organiser schedules selected cars on display, an autograph session from 5 to 5:30 p.m., a pre-event press conference and the ceremonial start at 6 p.m.

This is the best option for a visitor who wants the atmosphere without a remote stage or paid viewing area. It is also easier for families, people arriving by train and anyone who cannot manage a long walk over uneven rural ground. The cars are not competing on Thursday evening.

Friday: Aberystwyth plus one rural night choice

The competitive rally starts with two runs of the Aberystwyth street stage at 7:05 p.m. and 7:35 p.m. Elerch follows at 8:50 p.m. Blaenmelindwr is scheduled later, but the organiser states that it has no public or spectator access.

Do not assume that an Aberystwyth ticket also admits a rural fan zone. The street stage is sold per person, while Elerch uses a vehicle ticket. Moving between the two requires the correct admission and enough time to clear traffic controls. A first visit is usually better when built around one of them.

Saturday: choose one repeated rural stage

Saturday's public fan zones have two passes each:

The official full-day vehicle ticket covers the three rural fan zones, but it does not make rapid movement between them sensible. Closed roads, parking queues and walking time can remove the theoretical advantage. Pick one stage unless you already understand the access roads and organiser directions.

Rhayader hosts a regroup during Saturday's route. A regroup is a non-competitive stop where spectators can see the cars and crews more closely. It is not a substitute for a fan-zone ticket if the aim is to watch a car at speed.

Sunday: Gorsgoch or the town regroups

Gorsgoch runs at 8:15 a.m. and noon. Ty Glyn follows each loop and becomes the power stage at 2:05 p.m., but the organiser marks Ty Glyn as having no public or spectator access.

The council also lists regroups in Lampeter and Aberaeron before the ceremonial finish returns to Aberystwyth Promenade. Those town stops can suit a visitor who values easier access over a competitive roadside view. Confirm the current location and timing with the organiser before setting out.

Which Rali Ceredigion ticket do you need?

Rural and town tickets work differently.

Children aged 16 and under do not need a standard Aberystwyth street-stage ticket. That does not mean every child product is free: the premium zone has a listed child price. Read the basket before paying.

Road closures and the three closed Aberystwyth car parks

Ceredigion County Council publishes rally road notices for September 3, 4, 5 and 6. The affected locations include Aberystwyth, Aberaeron, Aberffrwd, Cwm Elan, Elerch, Gorsgoch, Pendam, Rhayader, Soar y Mynydd and Ty Glyn.

Getting to Aberystwyth without a car

Aberystwyth railway station is the practical public-transport arrival for the Thursday show and the town stage. The rural fan zones are different. The organiser sells them around dedicated vehicle parking and does not publish a regular spectator shuttle connecting every stage.
