Royal Winter Fair 2026: tickets, horses and Toronto travel

The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair returns to Toronto's Exhibition Place from November 6 to 15, 2026. Choose what you want to see before buying: a Royal Horse Show ticket includes fair admission on the same day, while general admission does not cover every paid Horse Show performance.
The official Royal Fair site is the starting point for booking. A visitor interested in livestock and food may want a different ticket from someone traveling for an evening show-jumping competition. Buying the first two products you find can mean paying twice for an inclusion you already have.
Which Royal Fair ticket fits your visit?
| Your priority | What to compare | Important distinction |
|---|---|---|
| Livestock, displays and daytime activities | General admission through the official fair site | Check your chosen day's programme; not every animal or competition appears every day |
| A particular paid Horse Show | That performance's ticket | The organizer confirms same-day fair admission is included |
| General fair visit plus regional train travel | GO + Royal combo | It bundles general admission and a GO round trip, not a reserved paid Horse Show seat |
| A hosted dinner and equestrian evening | The specific Chef's Table Dining Series session | Its published 2026 offer includes Horse Show and fair admission; check the assigned session |
The visitor FAQ confirms the same-day Horse Show inclusion and an on-site upgrade option for general-admission holders. An upgrade still depends on the performance you want being available. If that show is the reason for the trip, settle the ticket first.
Read the final date, performance, seating category and total before payment. A page showing one unavailable performance does not establish that the entire fair has sold out. Equally, a general-admission purchase is not a reservation for a different paid show.
Current GO combo prices, with taxes and fees
GO Transit's 2026 offer publishes these tax-and-fee-inclusive Canadian-dollar totals:
| Combo | Published total |
|---|---|
| One adult, age 18-64 | CAD 47.48 |
| Two adults, age 18-64, and two youths, age 4-17 | CAD 103.02 |
Each includes fair general admission and a GO round trip to Exhibition.
Two adult combos total CAD 94.96; the family offer costs CAD 8.06 more. Compare separate admission and transport for your actual party.
Avoid buying a second fair admission with an existing Horse Show ticket. Check current checkout terms.
The PRESTO Horse Show discount has exclusions
GO advertises 20% off regular-priced Horse Show tickets with `26PRESTO`, ending November 15 at 17:00. Exclusions:
- November 7 at 19:00.
- November 14 at 19:00.
- November 15's Royal Rodeo at 15:00.
Other restrictions apply. Verify the discount at checkout; it is not a blanket offer for every fair ticket.
You can see horses without buying every paid performance
The Royal Horse Show page identifies breed classes included with general admission. Its 2026 examples include Clydesdale classes in the Horse Palace on November 8 and Royal Cup classes in the Coliseum on November 14.
The 2026 show guide also separates sessions labeled free performance from paid performances. In this context, distinguish an included session from free entry to the whole fair. Check the day, ring and session rather than relying on the broad phrase "horse show."
For an occasional visitor who mainly wants to watch horses for a while, an included daytime session may be sufficient. For someone following international show jumping or a particular rider, the named paid competition is a different purchase. Decide which experience you want before comparing prices.
November 15 has two rodeo performances
The official rodeo page lists a 12:00 performance and 15:00 finals on Sunday, November 15. Both include fair admission, and Amber Marshall is listed as co-host.
Choose the exact performance, not simply "Sunday rodeo." The 15:00 show is one of the PRESTO offer's exclusions. A ticket for the earlier performance does not, by itself, establish admission to the later one.
Leave time to find your entrance, scan the ticket and reach the seat. Do not build the day around arriving at the station just before the performance starts.
Pick a day for the animals your family wants to see
The current show guide gives different dates for different competitions. Among its small-animal listings are:
| Interest | Selected 2026 date |
|---|---|
| Youth dairy goat and dairy goat shows | Saturday, November 7 |
| Breeding sheep shows | Thursday and Friday, November 12-13 |
| Junior sheep show | Saturday, November 14 |
| Alpaca halter show | Sunday, November 15 |
Use that as a shortlist, then check the guide's current ring times. It is not a promise that every animal will be on display whenever you arrive, or that visitors can touch competition animals.
For a mixed-age group, choose one timed competition and leave the rest flexible. A child who wants to watch goats may be less interested in sitting through an entire equestrian evening. Let the interest determine the day rather than buying a ticket and hoping the preferred activity happens to be running.
Animal Theatre and Farm & Play are separate stops
The Animal Theatre lists demonstrations including border-collie herding and SuperDogs. Check its dated schedule when choosing a session; a programme listing is not a reserved seat.
The Farm & Play Zone includes the petting farm, inflatables and Ag-Tivity Stage. Some activities require a consent form, signed by a parent or guardian for participants under 18. Check the particular activity's rules rather than assuming the same conditions apply throughout the zone.
For broader travel planning, our Canada with kids guide helps families choose bases and realistic routes. A fair visit works best with enough time for meals, coats and a break, not a timetable that depends on everyone moving continuously.
Food and dining packages are different budgets
Allow a food budget even when your ticket includes entertainment. Browse the current vendor and dining information before deciding how long to stay, especially if dietary needs limit the options for someone in your party.
The 2026 Chef's Table Dining Series is a separately booked dinner experience with Horse Show and general admission included. Do not extend that inclusion to every cooking class or food-related activity; check the exact session's terms.
If you already have a Horse Show booking, compare what a dining package would duplicate. If the dinner itself is your priority, confirm the menu and assigned performance before buying an additional show ticket.
Take GO to Exhibition and check the return service
Use Exhibition GO on Lakeshore West. Check current schedules and planned track work before travel.
Plan the return around the event you booked, not only the fair's general closing time. A paid evening performance may finish after you have stopped browsing the halls. Save a later backup connection when one is available, particularly if your trip involves a transfer.
The fair spans several spaces. Open the official 2026 fair map and identify the entrance and building for your first activity. "Exhibition Place" is not precise enough for arranging a meeting or a drop-off.
If driving, check Exhibition Place's current parking and closures before departure. A ticket does not reserve a parking space. Compare the whole journey, including the walk from the car and the departure queue, rather than using only the driving time on an ordinary day.
Strollers, accessibility and leaving during the day
The FAQ restricts strollers and wagons on the Horse Palace Ramp, in Animal Theatre seating and on the Coliseum Peacock Walk during performances. Other barn limits may apply. Ask staff about your route.
Check its Access 2 support-person admission terms with the box office. The provision does not cover Horse Show tickets; arrange performance access separately.
Ask staff about stamped same-day re-entry before leaving. Read final-sale booking terms before paying.
Use your ticket date and current daily programme for hours, not older weekday/date examples on planning pages.
Keep tickets and the journey available on your phone
Save your booking confirmation, performance details and meeting point before leaving Wi-Fi. Check the issuer's instructions for how the entry ticket must be displayed; a saved confirmation is useful backup but is not automatically a substitute for a required live ticket.
For a visitor arriving from abroad without enough included Canadian roaming, OpenSim Canada plans offer a defined data allowance for transit checks, ticket retrieval and messaging. On October 17, the public catalog listed 5 GB for 30 days at USD 11.40, with top-up available for that plan. Confirm the selected package's current price and terms before purchase. These US-dollar plan prices are separate from the Canadian-dollar fair and transport figures above.
An existing plan that already covers Canada may be all you need. No mobile data package reserves a seat or guarantees reception in a crowded hall. Check phone compatibility, review installation timing and use the travel data calculator before departure.
