Audience and Centre Stage inside Lisbon's arena during Web Summit opening night on November 4, 2019

Web Summit Lisbon runs from November 9 to 12, 2026, at MEO Arena and FIL in Parque das Nacoes. The programme is available, and attendees need the 2026 mobile app to access their registration QR code. Before booking a tightly timed arrival, confirm that your ticket is assigned to you and that you can open it in the app.

The published schedule lists Opening Night on Monday, November 9, from 6pm to 8pm. The organizer is still adding talks and meetups, so build your visit around the current programme rather than a saved announcement or a previous edition's timetable.

This guide is for visitors deciding how to attend, where to stay and how to move between the conference and Lisbon's evening events. It does not promise business results. A useful trip starts with a few people or subjects you genuinely want to meet, plus enough time to reach them without rushing through every session.

Opening Night and the exhibition are different parts of the trip

The organizer's 2026 travel guide says there is no exhibition on Monday, November 9. It lists the main exhibition from 8:30am to 5pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, November 10-12.

Monday is therefore not a substitute for a full exhibition day. If a particular startup or exhibitor is the reason for your visit, confirm when it will be available before choosing flights. Check individual sessions separately; an exhibition opening time is not the start time of every talk.

Arriving before Monday evening can leave time to settle in, register and deal with an app or ticket problem. Whether that extra night is worthwhile depends on your flight, accommodation and plans. Do not assume a plane landing shortly before 6pm leaves enough time to reach Opening Night.

Which ticket fits your visit?

The attendee ticket page displayed these prices when checked on October 14, 2026. They are advertised rates, not a verified final checkout total or a guarantee of availability.

TicketDisplayed pricePractical distinction
General attendeeEUR995, also shown as EUR809 excluding sales taxExhibition, content, meetups, app features and Night Summit
VIPEUR1,950, also shown as EUR1,585 excluding sales taxAdditional lounges, meeting spaces, receptions and priority registration
ChairpersonEUR24,950, also shown as EUR20,285 excluding sales taxFurther access benefits, including fast-tracked entrance and Speaker Lounge

The general ticket page also displays EUR1,595 beside the current offer. Read the selected product and tax treatment before paying; an older guide quoting that higher amount is not a current checkout quote.

For most visitors comparing the programme rather than buying hospitality or specialist access, start with General Attendee. An upgrade makes sense when you will use its additional facilities. A larger badge package does not guarantee a meeting with a particular speaker or a return on the trip's cost.

The one-day visitor policy says Web Summit does not sell one-day or two-day passes. Tickets cover the event's full length, though you can attend fewer days. They are individual and cannot be shared; after check-in, you cannot assign the ticket to someone else for the remaining days.

Promotional programmes are already closed

The Women in Tech support page, updated September 25, says the 2026 programme is closed. Its eligibility conditions still apply to tickets already issued. Do not assume a discount code or an unassigned ticket removes those conditions.

The developer programme page, updated September 30, also says it is closed, with no waiting list. Developer tickets cover the event days but are complimentary, application-based and cannot be reassigned.

If you already hold one of these tickets, check its current instructions. If you do not, budget from an admission option you can actually buy rather than planning a trip around a programme that has closed.

An official ticket transfer is not resale

Web Summit's reselling policy says resale breaches its terms and may result in cancellation. A cheap ticket advertised in a public discussion is not evidence that you will receive valid admission.

The organizer separately permits eligible transfers to a friend or colleague through its ticket dashboard. The new attendee receives an email to claim the ticket, and the original ticket is deactivated. Some invited and application-based ticket categories cannot be reassigned.

For a company buying several tickets, complete the assignment before travel. Each colleague should know which email is associated with their admission. A receipt for a group order is not proof that everyone's app profile is ready.

Set up the 2026 app before you fly

The current mobile-app help page, updated September 1, says the app is live and required to access your event ticket. Use the organizer's download page rather than an old app link from a previous conference.

Open your ticket QR code before departure. Keep your confirmation email and the organizer's support route accessible too, but do not assume a screenshot is an approved replacement for the required app. If your phone cannot run it, arrange a solution with support before you travel.

For a login failure, the official troubleshooting page says to check that you have a valid Lisbon 2026 ticket, that it is assigned and complete, and that you are using the right email and latest app. Check spam and any workplace email filtering if the login message does not arrive.

This is worth doing while you still have time to reach the person who bought the tickets. Discovering an unassigned company pass in a registration queue is harder to resolve than doing it at home.

How scheduling and contact sharing work

The schedule help page says to find a talk or meetup in the app's Schedule tab, tap its calendar icon and use My schedule to view your choices. Adding a session to your calendar is a planning step, not a promise that you can arrive at the last minute.

The current contact guidance says the app has no built-in chat. A connection's Get in touch option uses email or WhatsApp; WhatsApp depends on both people linking it. Connecting also shares your email address.

Decide which contact details you want to share. Send a specific meeting request with a time and location, and wait for a reply. A connection in the app does not mean a meeting has been agreed.

Where and when can you collect accreditation?

The official registration guide lists two locations: Terminal 1 at Humberto Delgado Airport and Pavilhao de Portugal, beside the conference area. The organizer's separate 2026 startup travel guide confirms both and says each ticket holder must collect their own accreditation using the app QR code and photo ID.

Exact registration opening hours were not published in the checked guide. It says more details will be available nearer the event. Check your ticket instructions before assuming that an airport desk will be open when your flight lands.

At registration, follow the queue for your ticket category. Keep your lanyard and wristband together and wear the required accreditation during the event. Ask the support desk about a missing item rather than relying on a replacement-price quote from an older guide.

Registration, security and reaching your first room are separate parts of arrival. Leave space for all of them, especially on your first morning.

Stay near the venue or nearer the evening plans?

There is no single best area for every attendee. Compare the exact address against both your conference entrance and the activities you intend to attend after it.

Base to considerWhy it may suit youWhat to check
Parque das Nacoes, near OrienteA shorter journey to the conference and the onsite evening hubThe actual walk, price, room facilities and your late return
Baixa or ChiadoTime in central Lisbon between conference days and city gatheringsThe Metro interchange and the walk from accommodation
Cais do SodreAccess to the city's Tuesday Night Summit area and central evening plansThe morning conference journey and potential street noise

Do not choose solely from a neighbourhood label. A room near a station entrance can have a different daily journey from one farther uphill. Check cancellation conditions and compare the organizer's hotel partner with independent options without assuming either is cheaper.

If you will work remotely before or after the event, ask about a desk, quiet hours and the connection you need. A shared cafe table is different from a workspace suitable for a confidential call. Mobile data can help with messages and navigation, but the plan should not depend on unverified hotspot support or unlimited video meetings.

Getting to Oriente from the airport and central Lisbon

The official Metro network diagram shows Aeroporto and Oriente on the Red line. For the conference area, travel to Oriente and follow the route to your registration point or venue entrance.

The organizer's Lisbon travel guidance gives two options from Baixa-Chiado: Green line to Alameda, then Red to Oriente; or Blue line to Sao Sebastiao, then Red to Oriente. Save the relevant interchange before leaving your accommodation.

Reaching Oriente does not mean reaching a session. Allow time to exit the station, walk to the correct point and complete any admission checks. For taxi or app rides, use the designated pickup and drop-off instructions rather than asking to stop directly at whichever door looks closest.

The Metro's 2026 fare announcement lists a Carris/Metro ticket at EUR1.90, Metro Zapping at EUR1.72, a bank-card Metro journey at EUR1.92 and a 24-hour Carris/Metro ticket at EUR7.25. These are different payment products and coverage conditions, not interchangeable fares.

Do not assume an event pass from 2025 is valid for this trip. Check the operator's current ticket information and any 2026 event offer before buying. If your itinerary uses CP trains, a Carris/Metro-only day ticket is not the same product as the Carris/Metro/CP option.

Night Summit: onsite gatherings and city evenings

The organizer's Night Summit page names Pavilion 5 as its onsite hub, with admission included in a Web Summit ticket. It also lists a city programme:

EveningListed city area
Monday, November 9Time Out Market
Tuesday, November 10Cais do Sodre
Wednesday, November 11Principe Real

Check the current programme for the gathering's exact time and entrance. A listed neighbourhood is not an instruction to enter every bar there with your badge. Independent dinners and side events have their own hosts, invitations and payment conditions.

For regular organizer meetups, the support guidance says to attend at the time and location noted in the app. Follow any more specific instructions attached to your chosen activity.

Keep an evening free if you want room for a conversation or a smaller gathering announced later. Booking several overlapping invitations can leave you travelling across Lisbon instead of meeting anyone properly.

Plan the return before the evening begins

Lisbon Metro's normal operating hours are 6:30am to 1am. The operator's same-line boarding rule does not guarantee that a late cross-line connection will work. Check your complete return journey and leave time for the interchange.

Special event services or disruptions can change that plan. An October strike notice is not proof of a November closure, and a past Web Summit extension is not proof of a 2026 service. Check current status for your travel day.

If you expect to leave after the Metro closes, arrange another option and a clear pickup point. Agree how your group will get back if you leave at different times.

Bags, food and access needs

The venue rules ask attendees to avoid bringing bags and permit only small bags. They mention a bag check at main registration; do not assume it can store your large suitcase or that space will be available when you arrive.

CP lists automatic lockers at Lisboa Oriente, with access tied to station hours and a 24-hour limit. Check available sizes and collection arrangements before relying on them, or arrange storage with your accommodation.

The venue guide says catering is cashless and permits bringing your own food. Carry a suitable payment card. For a dietary or access requirement that determines whether you can attend comfortably, contact the organizer rather than treating a general provision as confirmation for your needs.

The accessibility support page directs visitors to request adjustments. Ask about the relevant entrance, seating and any assistance before planning consecutive sessions. Under-18 attendance needs organizer confirmation; a family visiting Lisbon should not assume conference admission works like a museum ticket.

Mobile data outside the conference

The venue guide says official Wi-Fi is freely available throughout MEO Arena and asks attendees not to use personal hotspots. Follow that request. A travel data plan is more useful outside the venue, for a changed meeting point, transport updates or the route back to accommodation.

First check your home tariff. If it includes a suitable Portugal roaming allowance, you may not need another plan. For someone facing extra roaming charges, OpenSim Portugal plans provide a separately priced country allowance.

The public catalog checked on October 14 listed 5GB for 30 days at USD4.76, with top-up support, and 10GB for 30 days at USD8.56, also with top-up support. For this trip, the useful OpenSim advantage is a known mobile-data budget with an eligible top-up option as you move around Lisbon. It is not a replacement for conference Wi-Fi or a claim of guaranteed indoor performance.

Choose an allowance using the travel data calculator, particularly if you intend to upload video. Check phone compatibility and installation timing before purchasing. Keep the accommodation address and return plan saved separately in case any connection fails.

For time in Portugal beyond the conference, the Portugal with kids guide covers family trip planning. Keep that separate from your conference agenda so companions do not spend their visit waiting outside meetings they cannot attend.

Before departure, recheck these details

Open your assigned ticket in the correct app. Confirm registration hours and the current programme, then check your airport journey, lodging address and evening return. Review any invitation that has its own admission conditions.

This guide will be updated for material changes to the 2026 ticket rules, app, registration, programme or transport arrangements. Published details and advertised prices were checked on October 14, 2026. The organizer's current instructions and your selected bookings govern your visit.
