SalamAir Copenhagen via Baghdad flights: what to know
SalamAir opened ticket sales on September 8, 2026, for a new twice-weekly service linking Muscat, Baghdad and Copenhagen. The airline schedules the first flight for November 14, 2026.
This is not a nonstop Muscat to Copenhagen flight. The aircraft is scheduled to stop in Baghdad, where SalamAir can also sell tickets for the Baghdad to Copenhagen sector under fifth-freedom rights. Before booking, check the full itinerary because the airline has not yet published the operating days, flight numbers, stop duration or passenger procedure in Baghdad on its public timetable.

The short answer: SalamAir says sales are open for twice-weekly Muscat to Copenhagen flights via a scheduled Baghdad stop from November 14. Baghdad to Copenhagen can be booked on its own. Treat the service as announced and on sale, not operating. Confirm the date, stop procedure, travel documents, baggage and total fare shown in your booking before paying.

SalamAir's current public flight-schedule page lists Baghdad as a daily destination but does not yet list Copenhagen. That does not cancel the announcement. It means the dated newsroom notice and the itinerary returned during booking are the more useful sources until the timetable is updated.
One secondary report gives November 15 as the start date. SalamAir's own announcement and Oman Observer both give November 14, so this guide uses the primary-source date. Recheck the first bookable itinerary if the launch day matters.
Why the Baghdad stop changes the booking decision
The Muscat itinerary contains one scheduled stop. SalamAir has not said publicly whether through passengers remain on the aircraft, leave it for a security check or receive a new boarding process in Baghdad. It has also not published a route-specific transit-document note.
Do not infer the procedure from another airline's one-stop flight. Before paying for a Muscat itinerary, ask SalamAir to confirm in writing:
- whether passengers and cabin bags leave the aircraft in Baghdad;
- whether checked bags are tagged from Muscat to Copenhagen;
- whether the passenger passes immigration or stays in a controlled transit process;
- which travel-document rules apply to their nationality; and
- whether assistance, a special meal, a paid seat or another added service continues across both sectors.
SalamAir's conditions make travelers responsible for the documents required by countries flown from, into or over. The airline's FAQ directs visa questions to the relevant authorities. A general claim that a Baghdad transit visa is or is not required would be unsafe without the traveler's nationality and the airline's stop procedure.
What the advertised Lite fare includes
The two prices in the announcement are one-way starting fares for SalamAir's Lite fare. They are not a promise that every date will price at OMR 130.99 or OMR 99.99.
SalamAir's current fare page says Lite includes one 5 kg under-seat bag and free online check-in until four hours before departure. Its baggage page limits that bag to 25 cm by 33 cm by 20 cm. A larger cabin trolley, checked baggage, seat selection and other extras can change the final total.
The airline's conditions say advertised fares are subject to availability. Taxes, fees and charges that are not included are shown during purchase and can change. Compare the final payment screen, not the headline fare, and save the issued itinerary and fare rules.
SalamAir currently says Lite changes cost OMR 20 plus any fare difference up to 48 hours before departure. It lists a OMR 25 cancellation penalty within that window, per passenger and per sector. Read the exact rule attached to the Copenhagen booking in case the airline revises its bundles before travel.
Baggage needs a route-specific answer
SalamAir's general baggage page does not confirm how checked bags will be handled during this new Baghdad stop. The airline says some bundles have no checked allowance and that added checked baggage can be bought, subject to availability.
If a booking shows checked baggage, confirm the tag destination at Muscat or Baghdad. Keep the baggage receipt. The airline's current limits are one checked piece for a 10 kg, 20 kg or 30 kg allowance, and two pieces for 40 kg. No individual piece can exceed 32 kg or 160 cm in total dimensions.
Passengers continuing beyond Copenhagen on a separate ticket should expect a separate decision. Copenhagen Airport says through-checking usually depends on whether the journey was bought as one ticket. It advises travelers with separate transactions that they will typically need to collect and recheck bags, then confirm the actual arrangement with the airlines.
How to protect an onward Copenhagen connection
SalamAir's conditions say its flights are not intended to connect with other carriers. A separately booked train or flight after Copenhagen is therefore not protected merely because the new service arrives at CPH.
Leave enough time to clear any border process, collect baggage and check in again. The required margin depends on the next operator, ticket structure, baggage and whether the onward journey stays within the Schengen area. Copenhagen Airport has a Transfer Center between gates B and C, but airport assistance cannot turn two unrelated tickets into one protected itinerary.
For a first trip on a new route, an overnight stay can be safer than the last onward departure of the day. If you do book a same-day connection, compare its check-in cutoff with the scheduled SalamAir arrival and decide what you would do if the first flight changes.
What booked and prospective passengers should do
If you are considering the route, search the exact origin and date on SalamAir's booking site. Check that the result says MCT to CPH via BGW or BGW to CPH, then review every sector before payment. Do not use an Oman Air Copenhagen result as evidence for the SalamAir itinerary.
If you already have a booking, keep the contact details current and check the issued itinerary for flight numbers, local times and bag allowance. SalamAir says schedule times may change after ticketing and that it will try to notify passengers who provide accurate contact information.
Recheck the route before paying for a separate connection, non-refundable hotel or airport transfer. On travel day, follow SalamAir's ticketed check-in deadline. Its general FAQ currently says counters close 60 minutes before departure and passengers must reach the gate at least 20 minutes before departure, but the itinerary can set the applicable deadline.
Mobile data for Oman, Iraq and Denmark
A travel eSIM can provide ground mobile data for the airline app, email, maps and onward transport. It does not work as inflight cellular coverage and cannot settle a transit or visa question.
The live Roaming eSIM catalog was checked on September 8. It had separate country products for Oman, Iraq and Denmark. The checked Europe plan included Denmark but not Oman or Iraq, and the checked Global 120 areas plan included Oman and Denmark but not Iraq. No single checked plan can therefore be presented as covering all three countries on this route.
Choose around the ground itinerary. An Oman plan suits time before departure in Muscat. An Iraq plan only has a practical role if the passenger is allowed or required to use a mobile network during the Baghdad stop. A Denmark plan supports the Copenhagen arrival and local travel. Inspect the selected card for its allowance, validity, network label and top-up status because package details can change.
Check whether the phone supports eSIM and read when to install an eSIM before travel while reliable Wi-Fi is available. Save the booking, stop questions and airport transfer offline as well.
