The announcement does not state how many tickets belong to each batch or which dates will appear. Do not infer that every open-house date will have space. Open the official ticketing page shortly before the release and use the booking route linked there.
The open-house schedule is April 5 to October 1, 2027. Church News lists tours from 8:40 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday. A tour begins at the Conference Center and takes about an hour. Allow more time for arrival, security, ticket scanning, the grounds and the return journey.

These conversions use the time-zone rules in force on September 15, 2026. A phone set to automatic date and time should convert the event correctly, but check the calendar entry before relying on its alert.

The official ticketing page says each guest can hold one reservation for up to six tickets. Every ticket will be scanned. A party larger than six should use the separate group-request route instead of splitting the group across speculative individual bookings.

The safe interpretation is straightforward: reserve a time if the tour is the reason for the trip. Standby is a possible same-day fallback, not a travel plan. Its capacity, waiting time and availability are not guaranteed. A visitor who already has flights or a long drive attached to the day should not build the itinerary around it.
General celebration access to Temple Square does not require a reservation. Several specific experiences do, including the Salt Lake Temple tour, the Inside a Temple presentation, tours of the Lion and Beehive Houses, and Music and the Spoken Word. They use separate reservation paths, so one confirmation should not be treated as access to every booked activity.
What the Salt Lake Temple open-house tour includes
The tour begins at the Conference Center and is expected to last about 60 minutes. It is open to all ages, faiths and backgrounds. The organizer says there is no dress code.
The route is not the same as visiting the new Temple Square Visitors' Center. The center itself does not require a ticket, but its lower-level Inside a Temple presentation uses a separate reservation. Check every confirmation by experience name before placing two activities back to back.

Getting to Temple Square from Salt Lake City airport
UTA's Green Line connects Salt Lake City International Airport with downtown. The airport station is outside Door 1A on the east side of the terminal. The airport currently lists a standard one-way fare of $2.50, but a 2027 visitor should recheck the fare and operating schedule before travel.
For the open-house period, Salt Lake City says the Church plans to provide free UTA transit passes to celebration ticket holders and park-and-ride options. The final pass instructions, parking locations and alternate routes have not yet been published. Do not assume the ticket barcode already works as a transit pass.
The city's Temple reopening project page currently anticipates these restrictions from roughly March through October 2027:
- full closure of North Temple between Main Street and West Temple;
- full closure of West Temple between North Temple and South Temple; and
