SAS completed Starlink installation across all 81 of its Airbus A320neo aircraft, the airline announced on September 1, 2026. The work took six months and makes the A320neo the first SAS aircraft type to have the service across its entire fleet.
That is a substantial change for short-haul passengers around Scandinavia and Europe, but it does not mean every SAS flight now has Starlink. The A320neo accounts for about 70% of the airline's total fleet. Other aircraft types are still being prepared for installation, with more work planned before the end of 2026.

SAS finished 81 installations while aircraft stayed in service
The airline says its technical teams fitted, tested and approved Starlink equipment while maintaining normal flight operations. The rollout began in March and reached all 81 A320neo aircraft within six months.

The 70% figure describes the A320neo share of the total fleet, not a promise that 70% of every route or departure will offer Starlink. Aircraft type, maintenance and last-minute substitutions can all affect a particular flight.
Free access depends on membership or an eligible 3 subscription
SAS provides the high-speed connection free to EuroBonus members. EuroBonus membership itself is free, but travelers should create the account and make sure they can sign in before leaving for the airport.
Customers with an eligible 3 mobile subscription in Sweden or Denmark can also connect without a EuroBonus login by using their phone number. SAS does not sell a separate high-speed WiFi pass to passengers who do not qualify through either route.
The current service allows up to three devices per EuroBonus membership or eligible 3 phone number. SAS says streaming, live sports, gaming and VPN connections are supported. Voice and video calls remain prohibited onboard, even when the connection can technically carry them.
Check the SAS app on the day of departure
SAS does not currently let travelers guarantee Starlink when they buy a ticket. Its advice is to open the flight in the SAS app on the day of travel and look for the Starlink indicator.
That check is more useful than relying only on the route or scheduled aircraft. An A320neo assignment is strong evidence that the equipment should be available, because all 81 are now fitted, but an aircraft swap can still change the onboard service.
Passengers on another SAS aircraft type may instead find the airline's standard WiFi system, whose access and device rules differ. Download boarding passes, hotel details and essential messages before departure so a late equipment change does not interrupt the trip.
Inflight WiFi ends when the flight does
Starlink is intended to keep passengers connected from gate to gate on an equipped flight. It does not provide mobile data at the destination after the aircraft connection closes.
That boundary matters on trips through Copenhagen, Oslo or Stockholm. Travelers often need data immediately for rail tickets, airport transport, hotel directions and changes to a connecting itinerary. Airport WiFi may help, but it is not a substitute for a connection that continues outside the terminal.

Neither service should be treated as an emergency connection. Keep offline copies of critical travel details and follow crew instructions whenever onboard connectivity is suspended.

Roaming eSIM's public catalog listed Denmark Roaming eSIM plans with 16 package choices, Norway Roaming eSIM plans with 15 choices and Sweden Roaming eSIM plans with 14 choices when checked on September 15. Each country page showed a starting retail price of USD0.64.
For an itinerary crossing several borders, the Europe Roaming eSIM page listed 11 package choices starting at USD3.20 and included Denmark, Norway and Sweden in its destination list.
