UNTOLD Festival 2026 guide: schedule, bags and transport

UNTOLD ONE 2026 runs from Thursday, August 6 through Sunday, August 9 at Cluj Arena and Central Park in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. The event begins in four days. Its official map, artist list, access rules and wristband pickup details are now live.

The urgent jobs are practical. Finish online check-in, decide where to collect the wristband, measure the bag, save the live schedule, and make a late-night route back to the accommodation. A four-day pass is not much use when its owner reaches the gate without the right check-in or parental document.

This guide was checked against UNTOLD, Cluj International Airport, CTP Cluj and Romania's Department for Emergency Situations on August 2, 2026. The organizer can still change set times, entrances and event operations. Recheck the official app and information page on the day you attend.

UNTOLD Festival 2026 at a glance

The festival site covers more than the main Cluj Arena stage. The current map shows stages, food courts, toilets, exits, first aid, lockers, credit points, wristband collection and accessible facilities. Download it before the first day instead of learning the layout while a headline crowd is moving.

Use the live schedule and build around conflicts

The official artist page and app are the right sources for the 2026 lineup and set times. A timetable copied into an article can become wrong after one production change.

The four days have different headline patterns. Thursday includes Sting and The Chainsmokers on the main programme. Friday brings Kygo, Marshmello and Zara Larsson. Saturday includes Lewis Capaldi, Martin Garrix and Lost Frequencies. Sunday includes Flo Rida, Steve Aoki, Meduza and Tash Sultana. Check the live schedule for the stage and exact time because this is not a complete artist list.

Build a plan that can survive a delay:

1. Pick two or three sets that matter most each day.
2. Mark their stages on the current map.
3. Leave time for a toilet, food or water stop between distant areas.
4. Choose a backup when two important sets overlap.
5. Save screenshots after the final schedule check.

The official app can create a personal lineup, but keep an offline copy. A weak signal should make the phone less convenient, not erase the night.

Complete ticket check-in before the gate

Buying the ticket and completing check-in are separate steps. UNTOLD says online check-in is free during the first 30 days after purchase. After that period, the current online check-in fee is EUR15. Check-in at the festival gate costs EUR25.

Open the order through the official UNTOLD ticket platform and confirm the attendee details now. Do not wait until a mobile connection, payment approval and gate queue all depend on each other.

If a ticket belongs to another person, use the organizer's official transfer or name-change process. A seller's screenshot does not establish that the ticket has been transferred correctly, remains valid or will match the attendee's identity. Current discussions show people searching for passes and transfers in the final week. That is also when the cost of a mistake is highest.

Save these items offline after check-in:

• the order number and ticket confirmation;
• the attendee name used for check-in;
• the wristband pickup location and hours;
• the official support contact;
• proof of an authorized transfer, when relevant.

UNTOLD wristband pickup for 2026

The official wristband notice lists collection in Central Park at these times:

Collecting on August 4 or 5 removes one queue from the first festival day. If you arrive on an event day, allow time for collection before a must-see set. The festival opens at 4pm, but the pickup desk opening at 3pm does not mean every person in the line will be inside by 4pm.

Take the identity document and ticket information required by the organizer. Do not tighten the wristband until it is on the correct attendee. Damage, transfer problems and age documents are easier to resolve before the group reaches a busy entrance.

UNTOLD bag policy, water and lockers

The current UNTOLD visitor information limits bags to 29 x 21 x 12 cm. Measure the outside of the bag at home. A soft backpack that can theoretically fold smaller may still be refused when it arrives full.

Water cannot be brought through the gate. The organizer directs visitors to water available at the food courts. Plan the first water stop as part of the arrival route, especially on a warm afternoon.

Pets, sprays and flagpoles are prohibited. Flags without poles are permitted under the current rules. The FAQ currently allows mirrorless cameras but restricts professional equipment and video recording. Check the exact camera wording again if the body, lens or accessories could look professional to security.

Essential medicine deserves an early check rather than an argument at the gate. Keep it in its original packaging when possible, carry the prescription or medical documentation, and ask the organizer in advance when the published rule does not cover the item clearly.

Lockers can reduce what you carry between stages. As checked on August 2, UNTOLD lists a four-day locker at 150 lei or a one-day locker at 50 lei, plus a 50 lei key deposit. The published access period is 4pm to 7am. Treat those figures as current festival information, not a permanent price, and confirm availability before depending on a locker.

How cashless top-ups and refunds work

UNTOLD uses the festival wristband for purchases. Money can be added online or at on-site credit points, where the organizer says cash and card are accepted. The balance remains usable across the festival rather than expiring at the end of each night.

The refund route depends on how the money reached the wristband. On-site top-ups can be refunded at the designated credit points before leaving and through the stated resolution service. UNTOLD also lists a Monday refund window from 7am to 5pm near the Hungarian Opera entrance.

Online top-ups follow the online refund rules. The current terms distinguish them from cash or card top-ups made at the festival and list a 10 lei processing fee plus a 15 lei minimum for an online refund. Read the current terms before the last night because a remembered rule from an older edition may not match this one.

A sensible balance is enough for the next part of the night, not the entire weekend on the first tap. Save top-up confirmations and take a photo of the wristband identifier. That will not replace the official refund process, but it gives support something concrete if a transaction is missing.

Getting from Cluj Airport to UNTOLD

Cluj International Airport is east of the city. Its official public transport page lists the A1E express bus, with an estimated journey of about 26 minutes to central Cluj. Lines 5 and 8 also serve the airport area.

For festival travel, the useful destination is not simply "Cluj." Save the stop closest to the accommodation, then a separate route from there to Cluj Arena or Central Park. Carrying luggage directly to the festival gate is a poor substitute for checking in or using confirmed storage.

CTP Cluj supports ticket purchase through 24pay. Set up the app before boarding and keep a payment fallback. The operator's current fare table lists a 3 lei single journey, a 5 lei night ticket valid on listed night service between 11pm and 5am, a 20 lei 24-hour ticket and a 33 lei 72-hour ticket. These fares were checked on August 2 and can change.

A taxi or ride app can make sense with luggage or a late arrival. Use the airport's designated pickup arrangement and confirm the vehicle in the app. At festival closing time, walk away from the tightest venue traffic before requesting a car, but do not pick an isolated meeting point simply to save a few minutes.

Staying in Cluj or outside the city

Late accommodation searches are producing the same uncomfortable choice: pay a high central price or stay farther away and risk a difficult journey after the final set.

Cluj city accommodation is the simplest option because the venue sits beside the center. A place within a reasonable walk removes the last-bus question. Neighborhoods connected to the center by CTP can also work, but the route needs to match the hour you expect to leave, not the easy afternoon journey shown during booking.

Floresti and other outer areas can be cheaper, yet ordinary daytime service does not prove a practical ride home after 3am or 5am. Turda is a separate city. It should be treated as an intercity transfer, not a nearby neighborhood. If you stay outside Cluj, arrange one of these before arrival:

• a confirmed night service that runs on your date;
• a prearranged driver or transfer with a clear meeting point;
• a shared plan with people staying in the same area;
• enough budget and time for a fallback taxi.

Research on August 2 did not find a complete official 2026 special transport notice for every late-night route. Do not copy a 2025 shuttle post and assume it still applies. Check CTP Cluj and city notices each festival day.

An official dorm or package should be verified through the link in the UNTOLD account or ticket platform. Current Reddit questions about official accommodation and suspiciously high prices show why a social message alone is not enough evidence.

Make a late-night return plan

Day tickets remain valid until 5am, and the festival can continue beyond the hours when familiar daytime routes are useful. Decide the return before entering.

Set a physical group meeting point on the official map. "By the main stage" is too vague. Use a named exit, credit point or other fixed feature, then choose a second point outside the venue. Agree on a wait time and what each person does if messages stop sending.

Solo attendance is common enough to appear regularly in festival discussions. The useful safety choices are ordinary: tell someone where you are staying, keep the phone and ID secured, do not accept an unverified ride, and leave an uncomfortable situation without waiting for group approval.

Minors, accessibility and emergency help

Attendees aged 7 to 18 need the physical parental consent document required by UNTOLD. The accompaniment rules vary by age, so use the current official wristband and minor notice rather than a summary from an older edition. Print and sign the correct document before traveling. A copy trapped in an email inbox may not satisfy a requirement for a physical form.

The live map identifies accessible facilities, toilets and first aid. A map symbol does not answer every mobility question across a crowded outdoor site. Contact the organizer before travel for a route, companion or medical accommodation that needs confirmation.

Romania's emergency number is 112. Save it, but use event staff and first aid for a problem that needs immediate on-site help. The DSU service and app provide official emergency information. Enable relevant alerts and keep the accommodation address in plain text.

Weather and what to pack

August in Cluj can bring strong sun, heat and sudden rain. Check Romania's official weather information and the app on each festival day. An afternoon icon from a week earlier cannot settle what to wear at 3am.

Pack within the small bag limit:

• wristband, ticket details and photo ID;
• a compact rain layer if the forecast supports it;
• sun protection that meets the entry rules;
• essential medicine and its documentation;
• earplugs;
• a compact power bank and the correct cable.

Comfortable closed shoes make more sense than footwear chosen only for photographs. Expect long standing periods, dense crowds and changing ground conditions. If flying with a spare battery, check the power-bank flight rules before packing it.

Apps to set up before Thursday

Install and open each app on reliable WiFi:

• UNTOLD app for the current schedule, personal lineup, map and event updates.
• 24pay for supported CTP Cluj transport tickets.
• Google Maps or Apple Maps with Cluj, the accommodation and return corridor saved offline.
• DSU for Romanian emergency alerts and official safety information.
• A weather app using a current Romanian forecast.
• The airline, rail or booking app needed for the journey into Cluj.

Do not keep every critical item inside one app. Save the festival map, daily schedule, ticket confirmation, accommodation address, return route and emergency contact as screenshots or plain text.

Phone service and mobile data at UNTOLD

Tens of thousands of phones can compete for local network capacity near the main stages. Service may feel normal at 4pm and slow during a headline set. A stalled upload does not automatically mean the plan or phone has failed.

Prepare for that change:

• send meeting details before the busiest set;
• use short text messages when media uploads stall;
• keep tickets, maps and the return route offline;
• disable automatic photo backup during the event;
• carry the phone in a closed front pocket or secured bag.

International visitors can use a Roaming eSIM for airport arrival, 24pay setup, city maps, accommodation messages and the rest of a Romania trip. A Romania plan fits a one-country itinerary. A Europe plan can suit a journey that also crosses other covered countries. Check the exact country list, allowance and validity on the product card before purchase.

Install the Roaming eSIM before leaving home, then choose it as the mobile-data line when the package instructions say to connect. Keep the usual SIM for calls or account messages when needed, with home-line data roaming disabled unless the home plan covers Romania. UNTOLD day-before checklist

1. Complete official check-in and verify the attendee name.
2. Save the ticket, order number and support details offline.
3. Choose a Central Park wristband pickup window.
4. Print the required parental consent if a minor is attending.
5. Measure the bag and check every unusual item against the current rule.
6. Install the official app and save the schedule and map.
7. Confirm the route from the airport or station to the accommodation.
8. Confirm the late-night return route and a paid fallback.
9. Review the wristband top-up and refund method you plan to use.
10. Charge the phone and power bank, then save a physical meeting point.

UNTOLD is easier when the essential plan works without a live refresh. Keep the schedule flexible, settle the wristband and transport questions before the first set, and recheck the official channels each day.
