Windscribe gives Pro users 5GB of free aloSIM travel data
Windscribe announced on August 5, 2026, that its Pro users can claim 5GB of free aloSIM travel data through Windscribe's Gang. The public offer expires on October 31, 2026.
The free allowance can be useful for maps, messaging, tickets and light browsing on a short trip. It is not 5GB of Windscribe VPN bandwidth, and a VPN does not create a mobile connection. aloSIM supplies the travel data; Windscribe can run over that connection.
The traveler decision: claim the offer if you already have Windscribe Pro, the redemption page covers your route and 5GB is enough. Do not buy a VPN subscription only for the travel data without comparing the total cost and the logged-in offer terms.
What Windscribe and aloSIM announced
Windscribe's August 5 article says aloSIM joined its partner program, called Windscribe's Gang. The announcement confirms three offer facts:
- the benefit is for Windscribe Pro users;
- the allowance is 5GB of aloSIM travel data;
- the offer expires October 31, 2026.
Windscribe tells users to open the Gang page, reveal the partner code, choose a destination and redeem on the partner's website. The public Gang FAQ says redemptions take place on partner websites and are for Pro users only.
The logged-out pages do not display the aloSIM code or its personalized checkout terms. They also do not confirm whether an existing aloSIM account qualifies, how long an unactivated promotional package can remain unused, or whether every destination has the same validity. Check those details after signing in and before redeeming.

October 31 is a claim deadline, not a confirmed data-expiry date
Windscribe's exact public wording is that the offer expires October 31, 2026. It does not say that an installed eSIM stops working that day or that the 5GB must be consumed by then.
aloSIM's current installation guidance treats purchase, installation and activation as separate stages. It recommends installing a destination eSIM one or two days before arrival on a strong connection. It also says a package's validity countdown starts when the data plan is activated.
That general rule does not reveal the promotional package's redemption window or how long it can sit unactivated. If your trip begins after October 31, ask Windscribe or aloSIM to confirm the deadline before claiming. Save the answer and the offer terms shown in your account.

Windscribe VPN bandwidth and aloSIM mobile data are different
Search results for this offer also surface Windscribe's free-account pages. Those pages discuss a monthly VPN bandwidth limit. That allowance controls how much traffic can pass through the Windscribe service. It does not put cellular data on a phone.
The aloSIM promotion works the other way around. It provides mobile data on a compatible phone in the selected destination. A VPN can then use some of that 5GB while it protects traffic or changes the apparent connection location.

Using both can make sense, but it is optional. A traveler who only needs mobile data does not have to run a VPN continuously. A traveler using hotel or airport Wi-Fi may still want a VPN even when the travel eSIM is switched off.
Is 5GB enough for a trip?
Five gigabytes can cover a short trip built around maps, ride apps, messaging, email, ticket wallets and occasional browsing. Video streaming, cloud photo backup, operating-system updates and laptop hotspot use can reduce it quickly.

Check destination coverage before claiming the code
Windscribe's article says aloSIM sells prepaid data for more than 200 destinations. aloSIM's current availability help page uses a different measure: more than 175 countries. A destination count can include regions and territories, so the two figures are not interchangeable.
Neither number proves that the free 5GB option covers your itinerary. Search the exact country or region during redemption and read the displayed coverage, validity and package conditions. A Europe option may omit a non-EU stop, and a country package will not cover an onward journey merely because the same eSIM remains installed.

Your phone must support eSIM and be carrier unlocked
The promotion cannot override device hardware or a carrier lock. Check for an EID or an Add eSIM menu, then confirm that the phone is unlocked. Model names are not enough because regional and carrier variants can differ.
aloSIM's current iPhone and iPad instructions offer automatic, QR and manual installation. They also advise keeping the primary line selected for calls and messaging when installing before travel.
