BOSS Revolution added travel eSIM plans to its iOS and Android app on September 3, 2026. The new section lets customers buy and activate mobile data for more than 190 countries, including plans for visitors to the United States.

This is a meaningful addition because BOSS Revolution already combines international calling, money transfer and mobile top-up in one app. A traveler who uses those services can now arrange data there too. The eSIM is still a separate product, however: buying mobile data does not automatically add ordinary calls, SMS, a local number or credit to another person's phone.

The traveler answer: BOSS Revolution now offers fixed-data and unlimited travel eSIMs, says all launch plans support reloads and hotspot use, and gives customers 20% off their first eSIM purchase. What BOSS Revolution launched on September 3

IDT Corporation, which operates BOSS Revolution through IDT Digital Payments, announced two types of plan in the BOSS Revolution app:

• standard plans from 1GB for seven days to 100GB for 30 days; and
• unlimited plans lasting between one and 30 days.

The announcement says some standard plans cost less than USD 1 per GB in certain destinations and some unlimited plans start below USD 2.50 per day. These are examples, not universal rates. It does not publish a destination-by-destination price table outside the app.

BOSS Revolution also says every eSIM available at launch is reloadable, supports hotspot use and can connect to 5G where the local plan and network allow it. Coverage remains location-dependent. A 5G label does not guarantee 5G at every airport, railway, island or rural stop.

The company says the catalog covers more than 190 countries. That headline count is useful for scale, but the selected plan's coverage list should decide the purchase. A regional name is not enough: verify each country on a multi-stop itinerary before checkout.

The 20% launch discount has important missing terms

BOSS Revolution says customers receive 20% off their first eSIM purchase in the app. The September 3 announcement does not name a coupon code, end date, maximum discount, eligible account country or stacking rule.

An older Panama partner page describes a different 20% code. That page is not evidence that the same code applies to the new first-purchase offer. Use only the promotion shown inside the BOSS Revolution checkout and confirm that the total changes before payment.

The words first eSIM purchase also matter. A long-time calling or money-transfer customer may still qualify if the account has never bought an eSIM, but the announcement does not define that case. It also does not say whether a cancelled or failed first order preserves eligibility.

Save a screenshot of the discounted total and the order confirmation. If no discount appears, contact BOSS Revolution before completing the purchase rather than assuming it will be credited later.

Twelve months of validity is not twelve months of mobile data

The announcement says an eSIM bought now remains valid for 12 months from purchase and can be kept for a future trip. It separately describes service plans lasting from one to 30 days.

The practical reading is that 12 months is the window in which the purchased eSIM can be held for travel, while the chosen plan has its own shorter usage period. BOSS Revolution should state the exact activation trigger in the checkout: purchase, installation or first connection to a supported network can produce very different timing.

If a trip is more than 12 months away, wait. Prices, supported networks and the traveler's phone can all change before departure.

Calling, mobile top-up and eSIM reloads are different balances

BOSS Revolution's established app can place international calls and send airtime to supported mobile numbers. Neither feature proves that the new travel eSIM carries a telephone number or includes ordinary voice and SMS.

Treat the eSIM as data-only unless the selected package explicitly lists a phone number, minutes or messages. App-based calls can run over its data connection, but a bank, hotel or emergency service may require an ordinary number.

The same separation applies to top-ups:

• mobile top-up sends airtime or a bundle to a supported carrier number;
• eSIM reload adds an available data package to the travel profile; and
• calling credit pays for BOSS Revolution's international calling service.

Check which balance is shown before purchasing. Sending airtime to the home SIM will not reload the travel eSIM, and reloading the eSIM will not add calling credit.

The launch announcement uses the word unlimited but does not publish a universal high-speed allowance, reduced speed or refresh time. Travelers should not assume that every byte remains at full 5G speed for the whole validity period.

• the daily or total high-speed allowance;
• the speed after that allowance;
• when the allowance refreshes;
• whether hotspot traffic has a separate limit; and
• whether a reload changes the current validity period.

BOSS Revolution's public compatibility page correctly says the phone must support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked. Its device list includes many older models, but a model name alone is not enough because eSIM support can vary by sales region and carrier.

Before purchase:

1. confirm the exact model or regional variant supports eSIM;
2. check that the phone says it has no SIM restrictions or is otherwise unlocked;
3. make sure an eSIM slot or active-line position is available; and
4. keep reliable Wi-Fi for installation and save the order details offline.

On arrival, select the travel eSIM for mobile data and follow its instruction about data roaming. Keep data roaming off on the home line when appropriate. Leaving the usual number enabled for incoming SMS or two-factor codes can still trigger the home carrier's charges for calls, messages or roaming services.

Final checkout totals can still include fees or currency conversion.
