Contour Airlines plans to start daily nonstop flights between Williamsport Regional Airport and Charlotte Douglas International Airport on Monday, October 19, 2026. The morning flight leaves Williamsport at 6:15, while the return leaves Charlotte at 4:00 in the afternoon.

The route has not operated yet. Williamsport airport officials said this week that the launch remained on schedule, but a planned first day is not the same as a completed first flight. Check the booking and flight-status pages before leaving for the airport, especially during the opening week.

The short version: Contour's published plan is one nonstop round trip every day from October 19. IPT to CLT is scheduled for 6:15 to 8:10, and CLT to IPT for 4:00 to 5:45. Both cities use Eastern Time. Treat the issued ticket and live airline status as the final authority.

This guide was checked on October 18, one day before the planned launch.

The planned daily schedule

Williamsport Regional Airport's airline page publishes this timetable:

DirectionDepartureArrivalFrequency
Williamsport (IPT) to Charlotte (CLT)6:158:10Daily
Charlotte (CLT) to Williamsport (IPT)4:005:45Daily

The times are local, and there is no time-zone change. The planned flight time is one hour 55 minutes from Williamsport and one hour 45 minutes from Charlotte.

Contour says it expects to use a 30-seat regional jet. Aircraft, gates and times can change, so use the operating details in the reservation rather than treating the launch announcement as a permanent timetable.

What the Charlotte link changes

The flight restores a scheduled commercial link from Williamsport to a major hub. The early departure is designed to reach Charlotte in time for onward journeys, while the afternoon return reaches Montoursville before evening.

That does not make every connection equally practical. Check the complete trip, not only the IPT to CLT sector. A useful itinerary should show enough time to walk between gates and should keep all flights on one ticket where possible.

Contour names Alaska, American, Delta, JetBlue and United as interline partners in its route announcement. An interline relationship can support a joined itinerary, but it does not mean every partner flight, fare or destination will be sold on one ticket.

Connecting at Charlotte on one ticket

Charlotte has one terminal building with five connected concourses. The airport says every gate is reachable after security without a train or shuttle, although the walk can still be long. Its interactive map can estimate the route between gates.

Contour currently lists its Charlotte operation at Terminal E, gates E1 to E3. Check the airport screens after arrival because an assigned gate can change.

For a joined itinerary, verify that the receipt covers the full journey and inspect the baggage tag at Williamsport. Contour's baggage page says bags are automatically tagged and transferred on eligible single-ticket trips involving American, Alaska, JetBlue or United. Its public transfer wording does not include Delta, even though Delta appears in the route announcement's broader partner list. Ask the issuing airline how a specific Delta itinerary will be handled rather than assuming.

Separate tickets need more time

Two bookings create a self-transfer even if both flights use Charlotte. If the first flight is late, the second airline may treat the missed departure under its own fare rules.

With checked baggage, Contour tells separate-ticket travelers to collect the bag, check it again and pass through TSA screening. That takes far longer than a normal airside walk. The risk is sharper on a route with one planned flight a day because recovery options can be limited.

If a separate onward ticket matters more than arriving the same day, consider a long margin or an overnight in Charlotte. Do not use a legal minimum connection time as a promise that a self-transfer will work.

Baggage rules and current fees

Contour allows one carry-on bag up to 22 x 14 x 9 inches and one personal item that fits under the seat. The airline says a cabin bag that does not fit can be collected before boarding and returned plane-side after arrival. Keep medication, keys, batteries and valuables with you.

For travel from May 1, 2026, Contour's baggage page lists these checked-bag charges:

FareFirst checked bagSecond checked bag
Super Saver or Standard$45$55
FlexibleIncluded$55

Additional checked bags are listed at $200 each. Overweight, oversized and specialist items can cost more, and another carrier's rules may affect a connecting itinerary. Read the fare details again before travel because prices and allowances can change.

When to arrive at IPT and CLT

Contour recommends arriving at least 60 minutes before departure, and Williamsport airport suggests 60 to 75 minutes. For the 6:15 morning launch route, aiming for about 90 minutes before departure provides a more useful margin for parking, counter service and security.

Contour's current airport listing gives IPT a 30-minute bag-check cutoff. At Charlotte, passengers and bags are no longer accepted within 45 minutes of departure. All passengers must be at the gate at least 15 minutes before departure, and boarding doors close 10 minutes before departure.

Online check-in normally opens 24 hours and closes 45 minutes before departure. Completing it online does not replace bag drop, identification or document checks at the airport.

Travelers who need mobility or other special assistance can contact Contour before the flight. The airline recommends making special-service requests at least 48 hours ahead when possible.

Parking and ground transport at Williamsport

Williamsport Regional Airport is at 724 Airport Road in Montoursville, not in downtown Williamsport. The airport currently offers free parking in a lot beside the terminal's west entrance.

Rental-car desks are beside baggage claim, but the airport's public page does not promise that every desk will remain staffed for every arrival. Reserve a car or confirm a pickup in advance. The same caution applies to taxis and private rides, particularly after the 5:45 evening arrival.

Data for the Pennsylvania-Charlotte trip

An OpenSim United States eSIM can provide mobile data for flight alerts, the CLT map, rideshare pickup and messages after landing. Check the live product card for data allowance, validity, network generation, hotspot terms, reduced-speed conditions and top-up eligibility. Not every package is reloadable.

The eSIM is for mobile data on the ground. It does not provide inflight Wi-Fi, protect a separate ticket or guarantee indoor coverage. Install it on reliable Wi-Fi and follow the selected package's activation instructions.

Ten questions about Contour Williamsport-Charlotte flights

When do Contour's Williamsport-Charlotte flights start?

The planned start date is Monday, October 19, 2026. The route was still described as on schedule during the week before launch, but travelers should confirm the first flight through Contour's live status tools.

Is the Williamsport-Charlotte flight daily?

Yes. The published plan is one nonstop flight in each direction every day. Schedules can change after launch, so confirm the exact date before making a separate booking.

What time does the flight leave Williamsport?

The planned IPT departure is 6:15, arriving in Charlotte at 8:10. Both times are Eastern Time.

What time does the return flight reach Williamsport?

The planned CLT departure is 4:00 in the afternoon, arriving at IPT at 5:45. Check the reservation for any day-specific change.

Can I book a Charlotte connection on the same ticket?

Possibly. Search the full origin-to-destination journey and confirm that the receipt covers every segment. A partner announcement does not guarantee that every connection can be combined.

Will my checked bag transfer in Charlotte?

Contour says eligible single-ticket trips with American, Alaska, JetBlue or United receive automatic bag transfer. Separate tickets and other carriers can require collection and recheck. Confirm at the counter and read the final airport printed on the bag tag.

Is a short self-transfer at Charlotte safe?

It is risky. A separate ticket may require baggage claim, a new check-in and another TSA screening, with no protection if the first flight is late. Leave a wide margin or travel the day before an inflexible onward flight.

How early should I arrive at Williamsport airport?

Aim for about 90 minutes before the 6:15 departure. The airport and airline publish shorter minimum guidance, but arriving at the cutoff leaves no room for parking, a queue or a document problem.

How much is parking at Williamsport Regional Airport?

The airport currently offers free passenger parking beside the terminal. Recheck the airport page before a long trip in case the policy changes.

Which Charlotte gates does Contour use?

Contour currently lists Terminal E, gates E1 to E3. Use the live airport display on the day because the assigned gate can change.

Before the first flight

  • Confirm that the exact date remains in Contour's booking system.
  • Save the itinerary and airline contact details offline.
  • Check whether every connecting segment is on one ticket.
  • Read the fare's baggage, change and refund terms.
  • Leave extra time for an early counter visit at IPT.
  • Reserve a rental car or pickup in Montoursville if needed.
  • Recheck the gate and flight status before leaving home.

Evidence and launch-watch triggers

Williamsport Regional Airport and Contour's September 2 announcement support the planned start, daily schedule and aircraft size. The airport reconfirmed the launch timetable during the week before service. Contour's current passenger pages support the check-in, baggage, transfer and assistance guidance, while Charlotte Douglas supports the terminal and walking advice.

Public traveler discussions were used to identify practical questions about first-time Contour travel, baggage transfer, early counter service, short Charlotte connections and separate tickets. They were not used as evidence for schedules or airline policy.

We will update this page after the first operation or a material change to the start date, timetable, frequency, gate area, interline handling, baggage fees or check-in limits.
