Which FIBA World Cup ticket should you choose?

Session ticket: the smallest ticket unit

A session ticket covers two games. The organizer does not sell a ticket for one game only. This is the most manageable option for a visitor who wants to see a specific team without spending most of the day inside an arena.

Check both games before buying. Recent fan discussion shows why: supporters noticed that a USA session can also include Puerto Rico, while another session combines teams from different groups. The second game can be a strong reason to choose one date over another.

Day ticket: four games and a long indoor day

A group-phase day ticket can cover four games. That is useful value for someone who wants a broad view of the tournament, but it is a demanding plan. One recent traveler said they expected to skip one of their four games to spend time in Berlin. Decide that before arrival instead of treating every listed game as compulsory.

If the day spans both early and late sessions, keep meals, medication, hearing comfort and phone power in the plan. A day ticket does not shorten the security check when you arrive.

Team ticket: three sessions across two arenas

The team ticket covers all three group sessions for the chosen team, six games in total because each session contains two fixtures. Eventim says every team appears at least once in each arena, so a team ticket is also a two-venue transport plan.

This is the clearest choice for a supporter following Japan, Spain, Germany, Mali, Hungary, Korea, Nigeria, France, Belgium, Australia, Puerto Rico, Türkiye, USA, Czechia, Italy or China through the group phase. It does not include an automatic knockout ticket.

Final phase, final weekend and current availability

The official ticket FAQ says Final Phase and Final Weekend packages are currently unavailable after strong demand. That wording is not proof that every other product is sold out. Session, day, team and premium inventory remains subject to the live ticket shop.

Do not substitute a social-media seller for the official checkout. Tickets are not personalized, and a holder can transfer one to another person, but a multi-game ticket can be transferred only for the entire match day. Purchased tickets generally cannot be exchanged or returned. Commercial resale is prohibited.

TicketDirect arrives by email and remains available through the customer account. Save the original file offline. A screenshot can help when reception is slow, but keep the PDF because staff may need to zoom or scan it.

Berlin Arena or Max-Schmeling-Halle?

The ticket controls the venue. Do not search for "Berlin Arena" and assume every World Cup game uses the same building.

Berlin Arena is the venue name FIBA uses for the building currently branded Uber Arena. The address on a ticket may therefore say Berlin Arena, Uber Arena or Uber Platz. They refer to the same World Cup venue in Friedrichshain.

A direct tram connects the two arena districts

The BVG station page shows the M10 running between S+U Warschauer Strasse and U Eberswalder Strasse. Those are the most useful named stops for Berlin Arena and Max-Schmeling-Halle. Use the live BVG planner for the departure time and any disruption rather than hard-coding a transfer duration.

Do not plan a same-session arena switch. Each purchased session belongs to one venue. The direct tram matters when following a team across different days, or when accommodation sits closer to one arena than the next fixture.

Does the match ticket include Berlin transport?

Do not assume it does. Berlin Arena says event tickets usually do not include public transport unless that benefit is printed on the ticket. The World Cup ticket FAQ sends visitors to the individual venue pages and does not publish a blanket transport-inclusion promise.

Buy the correct Berlin fare separately unless the actual ticket says otherwise. The airport is in fare zone C, while both arenas are within the city fare area. The BVG tourist FAQ explains the zone system and ticket types.

Arriving from BER Airport during the 2026 rail works

BER Airport's station is under Terminal 1. The current airport page lists FEX and RE20 services through Südkreuz, Potsdamer Platz and Berlin Hauptbahnhof, with the FEX and RE20 together scheduled four times per hour until December 2026.

There is one important tournament-week limit: regional and long-distance trains cannot use the Stadtbahn between Charlottenburg and Ostbahnhof from June 14 through December 12, 2026. The airport warns that FEX and regional services can also be diverted or partly cancelled. A traveler heading to Berlin Arena should not rely on an old route that promises a direct regional train to Ostbahnhof.

Check VBB or BVG on the travel day. For Berlin Arena, a route through Südkreuz, Hauptbahnhof or another live interchange may continue by S-Bahn, U-Bahn or tram. For Max-Schmeling-Halle, route toward Eberswalder Strasse or Schönhauser Allee. Keep the accommodation address in the planner rather than choosing a generic city-center result.

Bag and electronics rules differ by arena

Both venues use an A4-sized threshold, but the wording is not identical. The event organizer or security team may publish stricter World Cup instructions, so reopen the event and venue pages the day before the game.

Berlin Arena

Berlin Arena permits one small bag or handbag no larger than DIN A4, 21.0 by 29.7 centimeters. Its policy says bags and backpacks are otherwise not allowed. Limited paid storage is available for oversized bags, but arriving with luggage creates an unnecessary queue and depends on capacity.

Security uses screening arches. The venue advises arriving early, while the exact door time belongs to the individual event. Do not turn its usual two-hour reference into a confirmed World Cup door time.

Max-Schmeling-Halle

Max-Schmeling-Halle permits bags up to roughly DIN A4, 20 by 30 centimeters, after a hand check. Its current security page also prohibits laptops, tablets, professional camera equipment, GoPros and similar devices. Larger baggage can be left at paid storage subject to capacity.

The venue asks visitors not to bring bicycle or motorcycle helmets inside. Bicycle helmets can be left at the outside bag drop without charge under the current policy.

The simplest shared rule is a small A4 handbag with only necessary items. If a tablet, large camera or backpack matters to the trip, return it to the accommodation before going to Max-Schmeling-Halle.

Children and accessible visits

There is no tournament minimum age. Children from age 4 need their own ticket. Children aged 0 to 3 can sit on a parent's or guardian's lap without a separate seat. The organizer places responsibility for the child with the accompanying adult, so consider hearing comfort, the length of a four-game day and late return travel before buying.

Accessible tickets are offered for both venues and each match day through the ticket shop. The organizer says wheelchair tickets include a companion. Bring the proof required by the ticket conditions and contact the venue before travel when an entrance, lift, parking space or service-dog arrangement determines whether the visit works.

At Berlin Arena, wheelchair users can use accessible entrances 2 or 9. The main lobby is not the step-free route to all public areas. At Max-Schmeling-Halle, the Falkplatz entrance is the accessible approach, with lifts to the arena levels. Both venues publish more detailed access pages than the tournament's short ticket FAQ.

A practical World Cup day plan

1. Open the live FIBA game page and confirm the local start time and arena.
2. Save the TicketDirect PDF, seat details and the correct venue address offline.
3. Check BVG for the outward and return routes, including lift or service changes if accessibility matters.
4. Carry one A4-sized bag at most and follow the stricter Max-Schmeling-Halle electronics rule when that is the venue.
5. Reach the arena with enough margin for security rather than assuming a published tip-off is an arrival time.
6. Set a meeting point outside the busiest entrance and save it in the group chat.
7. Recheck the bracket after the final group games before changing a hotel, rail or flight booking.
