Italian Grand Prix 2026: Monza tickets, trains and race-day plan

The 2026 Italian Grand Prix runs from Friday, September 4 through Sunday, September 6 at Autodromo Nazionale Monza. The race starts at 15:00 local time on Sunday. A first visit is easier when you decide three things before leaving Milan: which official ticket you hold, whether Monza station or Biassono-Lesmo Parco better suits your route, and whether every item in your bag meets the circuit's current limits.

The official circuit currently lists Friday and Saturday tickets as available. It does not make the same statement for Sunday, so check the live official seller instead of treating an old search result or reseller listing as inventory. Trenord has also opened its 2026 race-week products, but says the Sunday special-train timetable will follow in the coming weeks.

The short answer: buy through a seller named by the circuit, plan the final leg before choosing a train or parking space, carry no bag larger than 15 L, keep any power bank at 300 g or less, and save your ticket and return route offline. Use the official rule page when another guide disagrees.

Italian Grand Prix 2026 at a glance

The Formula 1 race page publishes the session times. The table converts them to Monza local time, Central European Summer Time, which is UTC+2 during the event. The circuit event page also confirms Formula 2, Formula 3 and Porsche Supercup support races. The full track and fan-zone program can still change.

Which ticket should you buy now?

Friday: the lowest-pressure first look

Friday gives you both practice sessions and more time to learn the approach, security line and path to your seat before qualifying or race day. It is the practical choice for someone who wants to see current F1 cars at Monza but does not need the competitive sessions.

The circuit says Friday inventory remains available. It also allows a Friday general-admission holder to buy a separate grandstand upgrade online or at the circuit, subject to availability. You must show both tickets at entry.

Saturday: the strongest remaining day for competition

Saturday adds qualifying at 16:00 local time and a fuller support program. It suits a visitor who wants a meaningful result without depending on Sunday resale inventory. Saturday general-admission upgrades are also offered subject to availability.

Sunday: verify the seller before paying

The circuit's live English ticket page names Friday and Saturday as still available. It does not currently make that claim for Sunday. That does not prove every authorized channel is sold out, but it does mean a buyer should start from the circuit's list of official and authorized sellers.

The circuit names its own site, TicketOne, participating Automobile Club outlets and the TicketOne call center as official channels. Formula1.com is listed as an authorized reseller. Tickets are bearer tickets rather than named tickets, but that does not turn every peer-to-peer listing into a verified sale.

General admission or grandstand?

Match a grandstand to its entrance before booking transport. Monza is a park circuit, and a route that reaches the wrong side can leave a substantial walk after the train or shuttle.

Milan to Monza: choose the final leg first

There is no single best station for every ticket. Work backwards from the entrance printed on your ticket or shown on the current circuit map.

Monza station plus the Black Shuttle

Formula 1 places Monza station about 6.6 kilometers from the Autodromo. The Black Shuttle runs from the Piazza Castello side of the station to Monza Park, near the Gate G side. Monza Mobilita currently lists a EUR 5 return shuttle ticket and an approximate 07:00 to 20:30 continuous service window.

Trenord also lists a combined Milan train plus Black Shuttle product for all three days. Use the live checkout for its current price and conditions. Do not buy a generic Milan-to-Monza ticket and assume it includes the shuttle.

The shuttle still leaves a walk inside the park. A grandstand on another side of the circuit can add more distance, so compare the ticket map before selecting this route.

Biassono-Lesmo Parco

Trenord's 2026 Day Pass allows travel from any station in Lombardy to Monza or Biassono-Lesmo Parco on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Children under 14 travel free with the ticket holder under the published offer.

Biassono-Lesmo Parco is useful for the Lesmo side and Gate D. It is not automatically the shortest route to every grandstand. On Sunday, Trenord plans special trains from Milano Porta Garibaldi to this station, but had not published the times when this guide was checked. Open the official page again before relying on a specific departure.

Driving to Monza: reserve parking by gate

Visitors cannot drive a car or motorcycle into the Autodromo area during the Grand Prix. Reserve an official off-site space and choose it from the gate on the race ticket, not simply from the word "Monza" in a parking listing.

The current official shuttle map uses:

• the Blue Shuttle between the Blue parking area by U-Power Stadium and the Gate G side of the park;
• the Purple Shuttle between the Purple parking area near Rondo dei Pini and Vedano, near Gates A and B; and
• the Black Shuttle between Monza station and the Gate G side of the park.

A Blue or Purple parking ticket includes a return shuttle for two people. Extra passengers need their own shuttle tickets. Monza Mobilita says its parking areas are unsupervised, cannot be changed or cancelled after purchase, and do not allow overnight parking except in designated camper areas.

The Monza bag policy in plain language

The current circuit rule is 15 L, not a vague small-backpack allowance. A larger bag may be refused even if another spectator says security was lenient in a previous year. There is no reason to build a race-day plan around inconsistent enforcement.

Bring within the published limits

• a bag or backpack of 15 L or less;
• one plastic or metal bottle of 500 ml or less with its cap;
• a power bank weighing 300 g or less;
• a rain umbrella without a metal tip;
• a camera with a tripod, monopod or selfie stick for personal use;
• a flexible plastic flag pole;
• a laptop, tablet or e-reader that can be powered on at security; and
• a folding chair or stool that is not made of wood.

Leave behind

• glass containers, cans and bottles over 500 ml;
• alcohol, weapons, fireworks, smoke devices and personal-defense sprays;
• a power bank over 300 g;
• tents, ordinary umbrellas and rigid rods;
• bicycles, scooters, skates and helmets;
• drones, radio scanners, walkie-talkies and laser devices; and
• any bag over 15 L.

The wording matters. The circuit first lists tents and umbrellas as prohibited, then specifically allows a rain umbrella without a metal tip. It also expressly allows cameras with tripods, monopods and selfie sticks. Follow the current circuit page rather than a general stadium rule or an older commercial checklist.

Security staff may ask you to switch on an electronic device. Charge the phone and power bank before joining the line, and make sure the power bank's weight is easy to verify from the product or manufacturer label.

Gates, walking and the first hour

The official parking FAQ says to select parking from the entrance gate on the race ticket. Use the same principle for public transport. Save the current circuit map and mark four points: arrival station or shuttle stop, entrance gate, seat or viewing area, and the route back out.

Do not plan from the Autodromo's central map pin. It tells you where the venue is, not where your day begins. The walk through the park and then inside the circuit can be the longest part of the trip.

For a first visit:

1. Check the live gate hours when the circuit publishes them.
2. Reach the transport hub early enough to absorb a missed train or full shuttle.
3. Keep the ticket open before the security line.
4. Visit the seat or viewing area before buying food or exploring the fan zone.
5. Set a group meeting point that does not depend on live messages.

Current third-party pages still label 2026 gate hours as pending. Do not substitute a previous year's opening time for a confirmed 2026 instruction.

Children, noise and accessibility

Children up to age 11 can enter the circular lawn area free when accompanied by an adult. Reduced grandstand tickets are available, and each full adult ticket allows one reduced child ticket. Staff may request proof of age.

The circuit recommends hearing protection for everyone, especially children. Bring properly fitted ear defenders rather than assuming distance from the track will make the sound comfortable.

For spectators with a certified disability of at least 75 percent, the 2026 process required registration and then a separate accreditation request. The published registration window closed June 30 and the request window closed August 1, subject to capacity. Wheelchair users have reserved seating in Grandstand 31; ambulatory spectators may have reduced options in Grandstand 7 Biassono. One companion can be requested with accreditation.

Do not arrive with a general disability certificate and assume the gate can create an accreditation. Contact the circuit before travel if the deadline was missed or the confirmation does not show the required parking or seating arrangement. Monza Mobilita says its event shuttles are accessible, but the route from a shuttle stop to the assigned area remains a separate check.

Weather, water and a long Sunday

Many seats and general-admission areas are exposed. Check the official local forecast close to the visit, then pack for both sun and rain within the entry rules. A soft bottle of 500 ml or less, sunscreen that complies with the current prohibited-item list, a hat and a light waterproof layer are more reliable than buying everything after entry.

Keep the power-bank rule in mind when preparing for a long day. A compact model under 300 g is enough for ticket scans, train checks and messages when it is charged before leaving. Turn down screen brightness, avoid continuous video uploads and save the return route before the race.

The ticket FAQ allows unlimited exit and re-entry during the same day when you show the ticket each time. That helps with food or a break outside, but a Sunday exit queue can make a casual departure expensive in time. Ask staff how re-entry is operating before leaving the controlled area.

Monza beyond the circuit

The City of Monza runs Monza FuoriGP from Thursday, September 3 through Sunday, September 6. The current city announcement includes activities around the center, a Classic Cars Parade on Saturday and a Supercars Parade on Sunday.

This is useful for a visitor staying in Monza or returning from the circuit before heading to Milan. Use the city's current program for locations and times. Do not assume an item described in a launch announcement is operating all day or next to the station.

Apps and files to prepare before race day

• Monza Circuit app: use the circuit's app for its map, points of interest, events and ticket-linked grandstand view.
• Trenord: buy the relevant 2026 rail product and check Sunday special-train times when released.
• Formula 1 app: keep the session schedule and live race information in one place.
• Offline maps: save Milan, Monza station, Biassono-Lesmo Parco, the selected gate, accommodation and the return hub.
• Weather: use a current Italian forecast and any official local warning rather than a screenshot taken several days earlier.

Save the admission PDF, rail and shuttle tickets, parking QR code if driving, circuit map, accommodation address and the last workable return route. Screenshots are useful backups, but keep the original PDF where staff can zoom and scan it.
