Greater Bay Airlines now flies nonstop between Hong Kong and Surabaya four times a week. The route started on September 25, 2026, giving East Java a new direct link to Hong Kong and adding Greater Bay Airlines' first destination in Indonesia.

The timetable is convenient from Hong Kong but less forgiving in the other direction. HB212 leaves Surabaya late at night and reaches Hong Kong at 04:30, before the first Airport Express train. Check the live booking and flight status before travel, then plan the airport transfer around the local arrival time.

The Hong Kong-Surabaya schedule

Greater Bay Airlines' launch announcement confirms the service is operating every Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. All times are local:

The airline says it uses Boeing 737 aircraft across its network, but the release does not promise a specific subtype for every departure. Treat the aircraft shown during booking as planned rather than guaranteed.

Current fares are visible on the airline's Indonesia booking page. A displayed fare is not a fixed route price and may disappear before checkout. Compare the final total after baggage, seat, meal, change and refund conditions have been added.

Both departures use Terminal 2

Greater Bay Airlines lists Terminal 2 at both ends of the route. At Hong Kong International Airport, its counters are on Level 7 at Aisle Q. At Juanda International Airport, the airline lists counters 27 to 31 in Terminal 2.

The airline's airport information says counters open three hours before departure and close one hour before departure at both airports. The boarding gate closes 15 minutes before departure. These are cutoffs, not suggested arrival targets, so allow time for document checks and security.

In Hong Kong, the airline moved its check-in operation to the newly commissioned Terminal 2 in June 2026. Do not rely on an older map or a saved taxi destination that still points to Terminal 1. In Surabaya, make sure a driver takes you to Juanda Terminal 2, not the domestic terminal.

Plan around the 04:30 Hong Kong arrival

HB212 lands at 04:30. Hong Kong International Airport's arrival process still includes immigration, baggage reclaim and customs before the public arrivals hall, so the time you actually leave the terminal will vary.

The first Airport Express train from the airport to the city is currently scheduled for 05:54, according to the MTR timetable. Waiting for that train may be practical if immigration and baggage take most of the gap. Check the timetable again on the travel date because special operating arrangements can change it.

The late Surabaya departure changes the day plan

HB212 leaves at 22:45. Greater Bay Airlines opens its Juanda counters at 19:45 and closes them at 21:45 under the published three-hour and one-hour rules. Traffic from central Surabaya to the airport can make a tight evening plan risky, so work backward from the counter closing time rather than the scheduled departure.

An onward domestic flight from Juanda may use Terminal 1. The terminals are separate, and a self-transfer can require entry formalities, baggage collection, ground transport and a new check-in. Do not treat an unprotected international-to-domestic connection as if it were an airside gate change. If the tickets are separate, leave a long buffer or stay overnight.

For an international arrival at Juanda, Indonesia's All Indonesia declaration combines immigration, customs, health and quarantine details. The immigration authority says it can be completed from three days before arrival. Use the official site or app, not a paid lookalike service.

Baggage depends on the fare you buy

Greater Bay Airlines includes one cabin bag up to 7 kg plus one small personal item across its current fare families. The cabin bag's total dimensions must not exceed 115 cm, including handles and wheels. Airport purchases also count toward the carry-on rules.

The airline permits prepaid baggage purchases until four hours before departure, subject to its current conditions. Traveling in the other direction requires an Indonesia check for the passport, purpose and length of stay. Visa-free entry, visa on arrival and advance visa eligibility are not interchangeable.
