How to get to Madison Square Garden

Madison Square Garden is above Penn Station at 4 Pennsylvania Plaza. That is the most useful landmark. Do not navigate to Madison Square Park, which is a different place farther downtown.

Subway

Use 34 St-Penn Station for the 1, 2, 3, A, C and E lines. The Seventh Avenue 1, 2 and 3 side and the Eighth Avenue A, C and E side reach different edges of the complex. Follow signs for MSG and the entrance printed on the ticket.

34 St-Herald Sq serves the B, D, F, M, N, Q, R and W lines. It is near MSG but not inside Penn Station. It can be a sensible alternative when the hotel is already on one of those lines and a short walk is easier than changing trains.

Commuter and intercity rail

Penn Station serves LIRR, NJ Transit and Amtrak. It is practical for a hotel in parts of Queens, Long Island, New Jersey or another Northeast city, provided the final train still runs after the concert. Save the return train and one later option before doors.

Use MTA TrainTime for LIRR and the NJ Transit app for New Jersey services. Amtrak passengers should leave more margin because an intercity reservation is less flexible than tapping into the subway.

Airport arrival

Use the live transit planner for the exact airport and arrival terminal. JFK routes commonly combine AirTrain with subway or LIRR.
