Lowlands 2026 guide: tickets, camping and transport

Lowlands 2026 runs from Friday, August 21 through Sunday, August 23 at the Walibi Holland event site in Biddinghuizen. Regular camping opens at 09:00 on Thursday and is included with the full festival ticket. There are no day tickets.

The main planning trap is assuming that every route and ticket works like it did before. Lowlands uses mobile-only admission, and the free festival shuttle runs from Lelystad station only in 2026. The organizer tells visitors not to travel through Harderwijk because its ordinary buses cannot carry the festival crowd.

This guide was checked on August 9, 2026. Ticket inventory, weather, train platforms and event operations can change. Recheck the official Lowlands English page, transport page and Ticketmaster order before leaving.

The short answer: Open every Lowlands and parking order in the Ticketmaster app while you still have reliable internet, travel by train to Lelystad, and use the free shuttle from there. Campers can arrive from Thursday morning. Save the timetable, festival map, return route and one group meeting point offline because the organizer warns that mobile internet may be limited when the arrival crowd builds.

Check the ticket before planning the rest of the weekend

Lowlands sells one full-weekend festival ticket. The official ticket page lists EUR 365, including three festival days, four nights on the regular tent campsite, the shuttle between Lelystad station and Lowlands, service fees and tourist tax. Gllamcamp accommodation, group camping, camper camping and parking are separate products.

Ticketmaster still exposed a standard festival-ticket option when this page was reviewed on August 9. That does not guarantee that a ticket will remain available when you open the page. Start from Lowlands, follow its Ticketmaster link and read the inventory shown in your own session.

The organizer says Ticketmaster resale is available from July 9 until 08:00 on Thursday, August 20 for festival tickets. The parking resale cutoff is 05:00 that morning. Use the official resale flow. A screenshot, forwarded email or barcode offered in a direct message does not prove that the seller still controls a valid ticket.

There are no day tickets, and the wristband belongs to one person. It cannot be handed to somebody else for Saturday or Sunday. If the full weekend is not workable, do not buy on the assumption that part of the ticket can be split later.

Make the mobile ticket work before you reach the gate

Lowlands tickets are mobile only. A printed PDF is not the admission format. Download the Ticketmaster app, switch its country to Netherlands and sign in with the email address used for the order. Open each order separately, including parking or accommodation products purchased later.

The official English instructions say that opening the order caches the ticket for offline access. Do this at home, then check it again before leaving the airport or hotel. A screenshot is useful for the order number and support conversation, but it is not a promised replacement for the valid app ticket.

If one phone holds several tickets, the group must arrive together for them to be scanned from that phone. A safer arrangement is to use Ticketmaster's permitted transfer route before travel when people may arrive separately. Keep the buyer's email address, order reference and a charging cable outside any locked suitcase.

Lowlands itself warns that arrival demand can limit internet availability. A second data line can help when the home carrier has no usable roaming, but no mobile provider can guarantee spare capacity beside a busy wristband tent. Offline access remains the first defense.

Take the train to Lelystad, not Harderwijk

Lelystad Centrum is the public transport hub for Lowlands 2026. Free shuttles connect the station and festival site. The organizer says the journey takes about 20 minutes once on the bus, but queues and road traffic can add time.

The 2026 change matters: shuttles no longer leave from Harderwijk. The official transport page specifically tells visitors not to route through Harderwijk because the normal public buses do not have enough capacity for Lowlands traffic.

On busy Thursday, Friday and Monday periods, the organizer expects at least one shuttle every ten minutes. Saturday and Sunday service is scheduled every 30 minutes. These are event operations, not a guaranteed connection to a specific train.

The last shuttle is a poor plan for somebody staying in Amsterdam and watching late programming. Lowlands warns that catching the last bus may require leaving before the headlining show ends. Check the final useful train from Lelystad in the NS planner and save an alternative before entering the festival.

Arriving from Schiphol, Amsterdam or another country

From Amsterdam or Schiphol Airport, use NS or 9292 to plan the rail journey to Lelystad Centrum, then take the festival shuttle. Do not read the train's arrival at Lelystad as the time you will reach your tent. The bus, wristband exchange, security, walk and setup all follow.

Travelers coming by Eurostar can change in Amsterdam and continue to Lelystad. Keep the international and Dutch tickets separate and leave recovery time between them. A delayed international service does not make the campsite walk shorter.

If you use the Lowlands coach, the current organizer allowance is one weekend bag, one tent and one backpack or item of hand luggage per person. A recent first-timer discussion shows why that limit causes anxiety once a sleeping bag and mattress are added. Pack the complete sleep system at home, then carry it for ten minutes. If it cannot be handled without help, reduce it before boarding.

Drivers need a separate parking ticket. The current Dutch transport page lists EUR 44.50 in advance and EUR 54.50 on site, with card payment only on site. It also warns about heavy delays on Thursday morning and when leaving on Monday. Follow the yellow Lowlands traffic signs when they appear instead of continuing blindly to a saved map pin.

Camping is included, but campsite choice is not guaranteed

The regular campsites open Thursday at 09:00 and close Monday at noon. The official FAQ says there is enough total camping capacity even for visitors arriving later. That should not be read as a promise that a preferred field beside friends will remain open.

Public discussions from returning visitors consistently focus on arrival time and the distance to later camping areas. Treat those comments as experience, not policy. If a specific group location matters, travel together and arrive early enough to solve it with staff. Do not block space for people whose tents are still hours away.

The regular campsites have hot showers, free drinking-water taps and flushing toilets available around the clock. Showers cost one token. The camping shop sells sleep and hygiene items, but the organizer warns that tents and air mattresses can sell out. There is no normal electricity supply on the regular campsite. Charging services can rent or recharge power banks and certain devices.

Pack for the ground you will actually sleep on: tent, pegs, sleeping mat, sleeping bag, earplugs and a waterproof layer. Check the KNMI forecast again within 48 hours of departure. A long-range icon is not enough to decide whether to leave rain protection at home.

Bring campsite food and drink on the first entry

Lowlands allows each person to bring up to 8 litres of non-alcoholic or lower-alcohol drinks to the campsite. Containers must be original, sealed and not made of glass. Spirits above 15 percent are not allowed, including home-mixed drinks containing them.

Food and permitted drink can be brought through the wristband tent only on the first entry. Once the wristband is on, a trip back to the car or supermarket does not create a second allowance. Buy and pack the permitted supplies before joining the first-entry queue.

The campsite and festival arena have different rules. A can accepted at the campsite is not accepted in the arena. Small camping gas cartridges up to 250 grams are allowed under the current campsite rules, while large gas bottles and installations are not. Read the current house rules before packing any cooking equipment.

Use the 30 x 21 x 10 cm arena bag limit

Large bags can enter the campsite but not the festival arena. The maximum arena bag size is 30 x 21 x 10 cm when the bag is unfolded. Test the actual filled bag, not the manufacturer's optimistic product name.

Visitors may take one empty drink container of up to 0.5 litres into the arena and fill it at the free water points. Outside food and drink are not allowed there. Consumer compact cameras and phones are permitted, but interchangeable-lens cameras, GoPros, selfie sticks and professional recording equipment are not.

Lockers remain accessible 24 hours a day. Use one for items that are allowed on site but unnecessary in the crowd. Keep the ticket phone, essential medication and return plan with you. Medication or medically necessary food and drink may require supporting documents and a check by the medical team, so contact Lowlands before travel rather than negotiating it for the first time at security.

Build a schedule that survives a change

The 2026 block schedule is live. The official Lowlands app includes the map, timetable, personal schedule, news and food information. The organizer also publishes a printable schedule for visitors who want a paper backup.

Choose a few fixed acts, then leave room between stages. A packed plan breaks as soon as security takes longer, rain slows the walk or the group stops for food. Save the location of one staffed landmark as the meeting point. "By the main stage" is not precise enough when thousands of people are facing it.

Solo visitors and international first-timers are currently looking for groups in public forums. Meet in a public, staffed place. Do not share identity documents, ticket-account credentials, accommodation access codes or the only copy of the return booking with a new chat group.

The deadline for requesting Lowlands EXTO accessibility facilities was July 31 at noon. The published facilities include adapted entry, parking, camping, sanitation, medicine refrigeration and viewing decks, but approval is required. If the deadline was missed, contact the organizer now and ask what remains possible. Do not assume that arriving with a mobility need creates an automatic space on a limited deck.

Save a small offline festival pack

Each app should answer a specific question:

Put the event ticket, parking or accommodation order, rail booking, passport details, insurance contact, campsite plan and one emergency contact in a protected folder. Save the Dutch emergency number 112, but use festival medical or security staff first for an incident already inside the site when they are immediately available.

Keep a charged power bank in hand luggage if flying. Airlines regulate spare lithium batteries, so check the power-bank travel guide before packing it. Lowlands charging points are useful backup, not a reason to reach the gate with a nearly empty ticket phone.

Where a Roaming eSIM helps at Lowlands

Mobile data is most useful on the way in and out: opening tickets, checking a changed platform, finding Lelystad station, reading weather alerts and messaging the group. It can also run the Lowlands app during the weekend. It cannot force a crowded local cell site to accept more traffic.
