Maybank adds Roamin travel eSIM to the MAE app
Maybank customers in Malaysia can now find a Travel eSIM entry in the MAE app. The tile opens a Roamin storefront where travelers choose a destination and plan, enter their contact details, then pay through Maybank2u Online Banking.
The current offer gives eligible buyers 69% off a second eSIM, capped at RM20. It runs from August 3 through September 30, 2026, and is limited to the first 1,500 qualifying customers while available.
The traveler decision: the MAE shortcut is convenient if you already use Maybank2u and need two plans. It does not make the first plan cheaper, and the discount is not immediate. Compare the first plan's full price, coverage, allowance and validity before treating the second-plan code as a saving.
What changed in the MAE app
Maybank's current instructions place Travel eSIM in the MAE homepage's featured area or under View All, then either Recommended for you or Travel. Selecting it sends the customer to a Maybank-specific Roamin site; the final payment must use Maybank2u Online Banking for the promotion to count.
This is an embedded purchase path, not a Maybank mobile network. Maybank's terms say Roamin supplies the eSIM, activation, network coverage and support. Any service claim or dispute about the connection goes to Roamin rather than the bank.
Maybank's broader Travel Easy page also presents travel data alongside its Global Access Account-i, travel protection and overseas QR-payment tools. The page names Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Japan and Australia as example destinations and says the Roamin catalog reaches more than 97 countries.
How the 69% second-eSIM offer works
The headline percentage applies only to a second purchase. A customer first buys one eSIM at the listed price, using the campaign storefront and Maybank2u Online Banking. Roamin then emails a unique code for one later purchase.

The promotion is most useful for two travelers, two devices or two planned trips. It is less compelling for someone who needs only one package because the first purchase receives no discount. A 69% reduction can also be smaller than it sounds: the RM20 cap means any calculated reduction above RM20 stops there.
This is a new offer, not the expired 50% campaign
Maybank ran an earlier Roamin promotion from February 20 through June 7, 2026. That campaign offered 50% off a second eSIM and allowed activation within two years.
The current August offer is different. It raises the advertised second-plan discount to 69%, lowers the maximum saving to RM20 and shortens the activation-and-use deadline to six months. Maybank labels the current terms as updated on August 7 after revising that deadline.

Roamin and Roaming eSIM are different services
The names are easy to confuse. Maybank's partner is Roamin, which uses the roamin.global domain. Roaming eSIM is the service on this website, roamingesim.com. A purchase, code or support request from one service does not transfer to the other.
That distinction matters when comparing a campaign with a direct plan. The Maybank offer can reduce one later Roamin purchase for an eligible Maybank2u user.
