MOTN festival 2026: dates, venues and ticket checks

MOTN's 2026 winter edition has three locations with different dates. The Abu Dhabi Corniche festival opens on December 9, after the shorter Al Ain and Al Dhafra events have finished. Choose your location first; the overall November-to-January season does not mean the Corniche is open throughout.
The October 13 announcement from Abu Dhabi Media Office confirms the tenth Mother of the Nation Festival, called *World of Wonder*.
There is enough information to choose a trip window, but not yet enough to price a complete festival evening. As of October 16, the ticket pages checked for this MOTN festival 2026 visitor guide still carried material from the previous season. Do not treat those prices, performers or entry conditions as the new programme.
Match the festival dates to the correct location
| Location | Confirmed festival dates | Which visit it supports |
|---|---|---|
| Al Mugheirah Bay, Al Dhafra Region | November 28-December 2, 2026 | A visit based in Al Dhafra |
| Al Jahili Park, Al Ain Region | November 28-December 2, 2026 | An Al Ain trip |
| Abu Dhabi Corniche | December 9, 2026-January 3, 2027 | A December or early-January city stay |
Notice the December 3-8 gap between the published regional dates and the Corniche opening. Do not add a festival evening to an Abu Dhabi itinerary in that gap unless the organizer announces another session.
Al Ain and Al Dhafra are different regions, not adjacent festival zones on the Corniche. Pick one location that fits your accommodation and travel plan instead of trying to collect all three in a day.
For Al Ain, save Al Jahili Park as the announced venue. Older guides refer to Al Ain Square; that is not the location in the new announcement. Wait for the event's entrance map before choosing a drop-off pin within the area.
What the new Corniche zones are intended for
The organizer has announced three themed areas in Abu Dhabi City:
- Melting Aurora: aimed at younger visitors, with discovery and imaginative activities.
- Beyond the Sky: aimed at teenagers and young adults, with more energetic, immersive experiences.
- The Golden Hour: food, performances, shopping and time together for a wider audience.
These descriptions help mixed-age groups decide what to watch for in the full programme. They do not establish a ride's height limit, a quiet session, an infant policy or which activities an admission ticket includes.
For a family with different interests, choose one activity each person cares about and leave space for a meal and a break. A couple without children can wait for the actual music and food programme before deciding whether the price suits their evening. There is no need to buy the broadest pass simply because it is called a day pass.
Ticket prices and inclusions still need a new-season release
Start with the official MOTN website and follow the booking link for the edition you intend to attend. On October 16, the accessible Abu Dhabi information page explicitly described December 2025 to January 2026. Its opening hours and parking information should not be carried forward automatically.
The Ticketmaster MOTN Abu Dhabi page also described the previous edition and showed no upcoming events. That is not evidence that the newly announced festival has been cancelled or sold out.
Before paying, check:
- The year, location and visit date, including January's year.
- Whether the purchase is site admission, an activity pass or a specific performance.
- The named rides or experiences included, plus any usage limits.
- Whether food, drinks and shopping are extra purchases or actual credits with stated values.
- Child, infant and companion conditions, including any documentation required.
- Re-entry, cancellation and rescheduling terms, and the final total after fees.
An old social-media offer or a previous year's family bundle is not a valid discount until the new seller confirms it. Save the terms with your receipt. If an advertised performer is the reason for travelling, wait for a dated performance listing rather than booking around a familiar name on an old ticket page.
Plan the journey to the venue, then the entrance
For the Corniche, choose accommodation and transport by the actual event entrance once the map is released. A hotel described as being near the waterfront may still leave a substantial walk to your gate.
Abu Dhabi Mobility's public transport page provides bus-service lookups and links to Darbi, with timetable planning also available through Google Maps. Check the return journey for the day you will visit. A standard bus route is not a confirmed late festival shuttle.
The transport authority's app directory distinguishes Darbi for journey planning from Darb, the road-toll system. It also lists the Abu Dhabi Taxi app for pickup and destination booking. Download through the authority's links, check the payment setup before leaving and use the event's designated pickup arrangements when published.
If you are flying into AUH, consult Zayed International Airport's transport guidance. Its airport-bus information identifies Hafilat as the payment card, with purchase and top-up machines near the airport stops; do not assume you can pay cash onboard. Allow separately for the journey from your arrival stop to your accommodation or the festival.
The airport also has designated ride-hailing pickup zones. Follow the app and terminal signs rather than accepting an unsolicited ride. Those airport pickup instructions do not identify a festival-night meeting point.
Do not assume last winter's free parking will return
The old MOTN information page describes limited parking opposite the Corniche, but the checked 2026 announcement does not confirm this season's allocation. Wait for the new parking map and follow signs on arrival.
If you use ordinary street parking, read the bay restrictions as well as paying the fee. Mawaqif's official guidance says designated resident bays are restricted to permit holders from 21:00 to 08:00. Paying for a space does not remove that restriction.
Decide how you will leave before committing to a late visit. For a journey back to Dubai, Sharjah or another region, compare the whole return route and its operating hours. A cheap outward trip is not a complete plan if the last connection leaves before you are ready.
What families should confirm before choosing a night
Ask the organizer about stroller access, changing facilities, toilets, quieter areas and accessible routes when the site guide is published. Do not infer that every activity is suitable for a toddler because the festival has a children's zone.
For a concert, check admission separately from general festival entry. The same applies to infant tickets and any age, height or weight restrictions on rides. Choose an evening your children can manage rather than planning around an unconfirmed midnight finish.
Bring a charged phone and a light layer for an outdoor evening. Agree on a meeting point after you see the current map, and keep the accommodation address available offline. A waterfront landmark is not a useful meeting point if it is outside your gate or on the other side of a closed crossing.
Our United Arab Emirates with kids guide covers broader family itineraries. Use it to plan the rest of the holiday rather than filling the festival day with distant attractions.
Mobile data for checking changes away from hotel Wi-Fi
For overseas visitors without suitable included UAE roaming, OpenSim United Arab Emirates plans provide a defined allowance for checking an updated gate, retrieving a booking and arranging the journey back. On October 16, the public catalog listed 3 GB for 30 days at USD 10, with top-up available for that plan. Recheck the selected package and price before purchase.
That can be more useful than relying on hotel Wi-Fi when your return route changes after you have left. If your existing plan already covers the trip, keeping it may be simpler. Data access does not include admission, guarantee reception in a crowd or change an app's local operating rules.
Estimate your needs with the travel data calculator, check phone compatibility and review installation timing. Keep tickets and a return plan available offline too.
Sources and the next programme update
OpenSim editorial team checked the linked official announcement, festival and ticket pages, transport guidance and public product catalog on October 16, 2026. This is an early planning guide: current ticket prices, daily hours, performers, ride conditions, entrance maps and special transport still need their new-season confirmation.
Update this page when the 2026 tickets and detailed programme are released, then recheck before November 28 and the Corniche opening. After January 3, 2027, retain it as coverage of this edition rather than current booking advice.
