MTLàTABLE runs across Montréal from October 29 to November 15, 2026, with reservations already open. Dinner menus are listed at CAD 38, 55, 70 or 90; participating brunch menus cost CAD 28. Choose the actual meal and restaurant date before booking, and leave room in the budget for extras.

The official event site is the starting point for menus and reservations. It is a citywide restaurant event, not one festival site where an admission ticket lets you eat anywhere.

For a short trip, one well-chosen reservation can be more useful than trying to fit a different tasting menu into every evening. Start with the neighborhood you will be visiting and what everyone in the group can eat.

What do the advertised menu prices cover?

The organizer's Q&A describes three- or four-course dinner menus and a brunch consisting of a main dish and specialty beverage. Here is the base-menu arithmetic for two diners:

Menu tier per personTwo diners, before extras
CAD 28 brunchCAD 56
CAD 38 dinnerCAD 76
CAD 55 dinnerCAD 110
CAD 70 dinnerCAD 140
CAD 90 dinnerCAD 180

These are not complete evening budgets. Check taxes, gratuity, drinks and dish supplements on the restaurant's own menu or booking confirmation. A CAD 70 meal for each of two people already uses CAD 140 before those additions.

If your total budget is CAD 150 for two, do not treat the CAD 70 tier as comfortably within it. Compare a lower tier, skip optional extras or ask the restaurant for a clearer estimate before reserving. Keep transport costs separate too.

A fixed-price menu is not automatically better value

Compare it with what you would actually order from the normal menu, not with the most expensive possible combination of dishes.

  1. Choose your likely meal first. If you normally want one main course, a three-course menu may cost more even when its individual courses represent fair value.
  2. Check the choices you would enjoy. A cheaper menu is a poor fit if your preferred main carries an extra charge or one diner cannot eat the available starter.
  3. Compare like with like. Different dishes, portion formats and inclusions do not establish a percentage saving simply because both menus have three courses.
  4. Add the extras you expect to buy. Include a supplement or pairing if it is part of the meal you want, rather than pretending you will skip it to make the calculation work.
  5. Consider the trip around the table. A distant restaurant can be worthwhile, but not if reaching it turns a relaxed evening into a hurried connection.

The official restaurant directory is more useful for this comparison than a ranking alone. Open the current restaurant entry, then compare it with the restaurant's own event and regular menus. Save the version you booked, since seasonal ingredients can change.

Three current menus show why the details matter

These are examples of different booking decisions, not a ranking or a claim that we have eaten the 2026 menus. Prices and terms were checked on October 17.

Gazette: count supplements before comparing prices

Gazette's published menu offers choices including beef, fish and a mushroom main. The foie gras addition appears at more than one stage, so decide whether you want it before using CAD 70 as your comparison figure. Its current page says dinner service starts at 16:00; confirm the time actually available when reserving.

The number of courses is useful information, but four courses are not automatically better value than three. Look at the dishes and how you want to spend the evening.

La Bêtise: do not assume the regular menu remains available

La Bêtise explicitly says it serves only the MTLàTABLE menu during the event and opens every day, including Sundays. That matters if someone in your party intended to order one familiar dish from the regular menu instead.

Its mushroom gnocchi can take a CAD 15 scallop supplement. The restaurant asks for allergies or dietary restrictions when booking, and states that taxes and gratuity are extra. Make sure the choices work for the whole table before confirming.

ITHQ: check your travel dates against its own dates

ITHQ's event page gives November 3-14, not the full October 29-November 15 window. A visitor arriving for the opening weekend or leaving a meal until the event's final Sunday should not assume this offer is available then.

The listed CAD 65 wine pairing is optional. With the CAD 90 menu, that is CAD 155 per person before any other applicable additions, so it belongs in the budget from the start if you want it. Ask the restaurant to confirm the current course format and dietary options rather than relying on an older menu summary.

Brunch can fit a shorter, lower-cost outing

Tourisme Montréal's October 14 brunch guide lists more than 30 participating restaurants at CAD 28 for a main and specialty drink. That is a different meal from the multicourse dinner offer, not a cheaper version of the same dinner.

Its examples include crêpes at Maggie Oakes and Chez Suzette in Old Montréal, banana pancakes at Sham Vegan in the Plateau, and matcha soufflé pancakes at Umami Ramen & Izakaya. Use the guide to shortlist an area, then confirm the restaurant's actual brunch dates, time and included beverage.

For a family, check whether children must order the event menu, whether another option is available and whether the venue can accommodate your stroller or high-chair needs. The event-wide price does not answer those questions for every dining room.

Our Canada with kids guide covers broader trip planning. You do not need to turn every meal of the holiday into a booked multicourse experience.

Reserve with the restaurant and read its cancellation terms

Reserve with your chosen restaurant online or by telephone. Walk-ins depend on space.

The event guidance requests 48 hours' cancellation notice; check the restaurant's own deposit and no-show terms too.

Ask for the event menu on arrival. Keep your confirmation handy, and check whether your restaurant also offers its regular menu.

For a larger party, contact the restaurant if the online system cannot accommodate the number. Two separate reservations do not guarantee that your group will sit together.

Settle dietary needs before paying a deposit

Send the restaurant the restrictions for everyone attending and ask whether the complete event menu, not just one dish, can work. A mushroom main does not establish that the starter, sauce and dessert suit the same diet.

For an allergy, ask the restaurant directly about ingredients and preparation. Do not infer suitability from a dish title, a directory filter or another diner's review. Keep the restaurant's reply with the booking and reconfirm if the menu changes.

The event's current partner guidance also directs dietary requests to the restaurant. It does not promise that every request can be accommodated. If a restaurant cannot provide the meal your party needs, choose another rather than hoping to negotiate after sitting down.

Signature dinners and card offers are separate checks

The Air Canada Signature Experiences are special tasting-menu events with their own arrangements. Do not assume the standard CAD 38-90 dinner tiers cover every named experience. Check the exact restaurant, date, price and inclusions before reserving.

Amex presents the event, but its page describes more than 120 participating restaurants that accept its cards, not every restaurant in the event. Confirm payment acceptance with your chosen venue. Sponsorship alone is not a promise of a statement credit, and a previous year's promotion is not a current offer.

Build the day around one neighborhood

Gazette's Saint-Antoine Ouest address, La Bêtise's Wellington Street location in Verdun and ITHQ's Saint-Denis address are different starting points for an afternoon. Map the actual restaurant before choosing your other stops.

If you are sightseeing in Old Montréal, consider a nearby meal rather than crossing the city solely to chase a price tier. If a Verdun restaurant is the reason for the outing, give that neighborhood time instead of treating the journey as a quick detour. Leave a buffer for finding the entrance and storing coats.

Use STM's visitor information and trip planner for métro and bus connections, current service information and fare options. Its visitor page also explains the 747 airport bus, which runs around the clock with downtown and Lionel-Groulx route options. Check the route and valid fare for your journey instead of assuming any city ticket covers every transfer.

For access needs, ask the restaurant about entrance steps, the dining-floor route, toilets and available seating. Check the transport route separately. A reservation is not confirmation of a step-free journey.

Keep menus and reservations available on the move

Save the menu, booking confirmation and address before leaving Wi-Fi. A mapping app, the restaurant's reservation platform and the official transport planner are the useful tools here; you do not need to install an unfamiliar app just because a list recommends it.

For international visitors without enough included Canadian roaming, OpenSim Canada plans provide a defined allowance for transit checks, retrieving bookings and messaging companions. On October 17, the public catalog listed 5 GB for 30 days at USD 11.40, with top-up available for that plan. Check the current selected package before buying; its price is in US dollars, unlike the restaurant prices above.

If your usual service already covers the trip, another package may be unnecessary. Mobile data does not secure a table, settle an allergy question or replace an offline copy when a battery runs out.

Use the travel data calculator, check phone compatibility and review installation timing before departure.

Sources and updates before October 29

OpenSim editorial team checked the linked organizer, tourism, restaurant, transport and public catalog information on October 17, 2026. The three menu examples explain published choices and terms; they are not firsthand restaurant reviews or a guarantee of remaining tables.

Recheck the current menu and reservation terms before booking and before your visit. These are dated 2026 offers, not year-round prices; restaurant menus and availability can change.
