Singapore Grand Prix 2026 schedule at a glance

Friday is no longer only a practice day. Sprint Qualifying makes it a meaningful competition session, while the evening schedule still leaves time for the Padang concert. Saturday is the densest day because the Sprint and qualifying happen several hours apart. Sunday has one main track session, but the 62-lap race is the reason most first-time visitors choose it.

The official event schedule lists all track sessions and stage times. Use it again on event day. Performances, gates and session times can change, and weather or track operations may delay the programme.

Friday, Saturday or Sunday: which ticket is the better choice?

Choose Friday if JJ Lin matters, if you want a lower-pressure first look at the circuit, or if Sprint Qualifying is enough competitive action. Gates open at 1:30pm for Zone 1 and 2 Gates 1, 2 and 8, and at 2:00pm for Zone 4 Gates 3A, 3B, 4, 5, 6 and 7.

Choose Saturday for the broadest track programme. The Sprint begins at 5:00pm, qualifying begins at 9:00pm and The Killers are scheduled for 10:30pm. Gates open at 2:15pm. This is a long day in heat and humidity, so allow a meal break rather than standing at the same fence from opening.

Choose Sunday if the Grand Prix result matters most. Gates open at 3:00pm, the race begins at 8:00pm and Lana Del Rey is due at 10:25pm. A Sunday-only visitor should not assume the first train after the concert will be quiet. Pick a meeting point and a second MRT station before the race starts.

Circuit Park closes at midnight on all three days.

Ticket zones decide more than your track view

Every valid race ticket gives access to Zone 4 and the Padang Stage. This means general ticket holders can see the headline Padang performances on the day covered by their ticket. Zone 1 or Zone 2 access is required for the Wharf and Barge stages.

Current Wharf Stage headliners include Split Enz at 7:15pm on Friday, Goo Goo Dolls at 7:30pm on Saturday and Janet Jackson at 6:15pm on Sunday. Check your ticket zone before planning around one of those sets. A Zone 4 ticket does not become a Zone 1 entertainment pass because the stage appears in the same event schedule.

General ticket holders with Zone 1 or Zone 2 access receive a wristband for movement between zones. Keep it on. The official circuit map shows the controlled crossings, but walking from one side of Marina Bay to another takes time and some routes may pause during track activity.

Ticket inventory changes. Use the official Singapore GP ticket route and read the access description in the live checkout. If a preferred grandstand or three-day pass is unavailable, do not assume an unofficial marketplace offers the same seat, transfer process or buyer protection.

Grandstand or walkabout?

A grandstand gives you an assigned view and a reliable place to sit. The trade-off is that one corner cannot show the entire lap. Follow timing screens and the official app to understand incidents elsewhere on the circuit.

A walkabout ticket gives more freedom to move between public viewing platforms in its permitted zones. It works better for someone willing to arrive early, walk and accept that the best rail positions fill. It is a weaker fit for a visitor who needs a guaranteed seat or cannot stand for long periods.

Choose from the actual access description, not a general claim that one ticket type is always best. The useful question is whether you value a fixed seat, a particular corner, broad movement or a specific stage.

Mobile tickets, transfers and re-entry

Singapore GP uses mobile tickets in its official app. Open the ticket once before leaving the hotel. The organizer says a ticket that has been opened can be saved for offline access in the app.

Screenshots, screen recordings, videos and printed copies are not accepted. These copies do not replace the active credential in the app.

If one buyer holds tickets for several people, transfer them before the group travels to different gates. Multiple tickets can remain on one device, but everyone then has to enter, leave and return together. The organizer recommends keeping each ticket on the attendee's own device where possible.

Once a ticket has been scanned for entry, it cannot be transferred. Re-entry is allowed only after the ticket is scanned out at the exit. If four tickets remain on one phone, all four people need to be present for the scan-out and later re-entry.

Before leaving the hotel:

1. Update the Singapore GP app and sign in.
2. Open the ticket for the correct day.
3. Transfer other tickets while everyone has a stable connection.
4. Save the circuit map, gate number and accommodation address offline.
5. Carry a charged power bank that complies with airline rules if you are flying.
6. Agree on a meeting point that does not depend on a live message.

How to get to Marina Bay by MRT

MRT is normally the practical default because the circuit surrounds public roads in central Singapore and race operations restrict vehicle access. The correct station depends on the gate printed in your event plan. The closest-looking station on a general map may serve the wrong side of the track.

Stations around the wider precinct include City Hall, Esplanade, Promenade, Bayfront and Raffles Place. Open the 2026 Circuit Park map and match the gate to a station before travelling. Do not choose a gate on the opposite side of the track and expect to cross the live circuit directly.

Allow time for the walk, bag screening and any temporary pedestrian controls. The last kilometre may take longer than the train journey. On the way out, following the crowd to the nearest station can create a longer queue than walking to another open station.

Singapore Grand Prix 2026 road closures and last trains

The Land Transport Authority's 2026 notice confirms road closures around Marina Centre and Padang from 12:01am on Wednesday, October 7 until 5:30am on Tuesday, October 13. Roads reopen in phases after the race, so a route that works on the morning of October 12 may still be restricted later that day. Use LTA's interactive road-access page for the date-specific map rather than following an old race-week screenshot.

The last North-South Line and East-West Line trains leave City Hall at 12:30am on Friday and Saturday, October 9 and 10, and at 12:45am on Sunday, October 11. Other train lines and selected feeder buses also run later, but the Changi Airport train service is not extended. A late train from City Hall does not guarantee a same-night rail connection all the way to the airport.

SMRT has published line-by-line last train and bus times. SBS Transit's race-week notice says 36 bus services will skip stops on affected roads from October 6 to 12, while Service 195 will temporarily operate from Kampong Bahru Terminal from October 7 to 12. Check the exact route if your accommodation normally uses a bus through Beach Road, Nicoll Highway, Collyer Quay or Marina Centre.

Taxis may enter the controlled area except during track activity, subject to traffic conditions. Private-hire cars must use designated pickup and drop-off points. Pedestrian underpasses and overhead bridges remain open, making a short walk beyond the closure ring more dependable than asking a driver to reach a sealed gate.

For the return journey, save two plans: the official station for your gate and a second station outside the busiest exit stream. Check MyTransport.SG before leaving Circuit Park, then confirm the final connection rather than assuming every line shares City Hall's departure time.

Bag, water, food and camera rules

The maximum bag capacity is 20 litres. Trolley bags, luggage, coolers, chairs and stools are prohibited. A bag that fits an airline cabin allowance can still be too large for Circuit Park.

Each person may bring one non-glass bottle holding no more than 1 litre. Water refill points are available inside. Other outside food and drinks are not permitted unless an approved exception applies. Visitors with a medical or dietary requirement should contact the organizer before arrival instead of expecting gate staff to decide without notice.

Other restricted items include:

• non-collapsible strollers;
• camera and lens combinations longer than 300mm;
• extended selfie sticks longer than 30cm;
• drones and remote-controlled aircraft;
• electronic cigarettes and vaping devices; and
• items that security considers dangerous or obstructive.

Collapsible strollers, tablets and umbrellas may enter under the published rules, but the organizer says not to use them in grandstands, viewing platforms or the Padang fan zone when they block another person's view. Plan concerts around the race, not the other way around

The headline Padang sets begin after the main track session on each day. That creates an obvious crowd movement from viewing areas toward Zone 4. If the concert matters, do not wait until the last track interview ends before choosing a position.

The Sunday Wharf set overlaps with the build-up to the 8:00pm race. A ticket may permit both, but the timetable still forces a choice about when to leave the stage and where to watch the start.

The city programme starts before race weekend

Grand Prix Season Singapore runs from October 2 to 11, so a visitor does not need a race ticket for every related activity. The Singapore Tourism Board's September 2 announcement names programmes at Funan, Raffles City, Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza and Clarke Quay, including motorsport pop-ups, Orchard Paddock and Beyond the Track.

Use the current STB announcement to confirm dates, admission and booking for any city activity. A programme partner appearing in the announcement does not mean every activation runs daily or accepts walk-ins.

This city programme is useful for an arrival day or for someone travelling with a companion who does not have a Circuit Park ticket. Keep the race afternoon simple. Crossing central Singapore for a separate activation before gate opening can turn a short day into unnecessary backtracking.

Singapore GP planning for children and wheelchair users

Every child needs a valid ticket. Children younger than 12 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Singapore GP strongly advises that children younger than seven do not attend because of the noise and long outdoor conditions.

If you bring a child, carry hearing protection, schedule a seated break and set a short version of the day. A collapsible stroller is allowed, but it cannot be used where it blocks grandstand, platform or Padang views. Heat, sudden rain, dense exit crowds and late concerts make a full opening-to-midnight visit difficult for many children.

The Empress wheelchair-accessible platform uses Gate 4. The organizer identifies Raffles Place as the closest MRT station and says most of the route uses paved or tiled surfaces, although some kerbs remain. Install only the tools that solve a real decision:
