Sun PhuQuoc Airways has started giving eligible international passengers a free 5GB MobiFone eSIM valid for 24 hours after it first connects in Vietnam. The airline's "Stay Connected in Vietnam" offer runs from September 1, 2026 through August 31, 2027.
The benefit is tied to an eligible Sun PhuQuoc Airways international arrival. It is not a free Vietnam plan for every visitor, and 5GB does not extend beyond the first 24 hours simply because data remains.
The traveler answer: claim the free profile if the airline validates your booking, install it before the trip and activate it only after arrival. It is a generous first-day allowance. A Roaming eSIM is the clearer full-trip choice when you need longer validity, a different network combination or data that is independent of the flight booking.
Who can claim the Sun PhuQuoc Airways eSIM

Top-ups use the same installed profile
Sun PhuQuoc Airways says the profile can continue after the 5GB is used or the free 24-hour period ends. Additional data can be bought through its connectivity portal without scanning another QR code or repeating identity verification.
The free benefit and a paid top-up are different purchases. Check the new allowance, validity, price, refund terms, hotspot permission and activation trigger before paying. Do not assume a top-up inherits the first day's terms.

The public campaign page establishes the allowance, validity, carrier, eligibility and claim path. It does not clearly promise carrier voice calls, SMS, a Vietnamese phone number, hotspot use or a refund route for paid add-ons.

The distinction matters outside Phu Quoc too. The airline profile uses MobiFone, while a selected Roaming eSIM card may name several supported operators. Multiple listed networks do not guarantee manual switching everywhere, but the disclosure gives travelers more information before purchase.
