Valkyries championship parade 2026: route and travel

The Golden State Valkyries championship parade takes place on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, from noon to 2pm in San Francisco. It starts near Mission Street at the Ferry Building and follows the Embarcadero to Second and King streets. Fans can line up from 9am on the bay side of the route. Choose a viewing area with your journey home in mind: the north end suits BART and ferry arrivals, while the south end is closer to Caltrain.
This is a waterfront celebration, not a trip to Chase Center. Save the team's route announcement rather than reusing an arena pin or instructions from a previous championship parade. All times below are local to San Francisco.
Where to watch the Valkyries parade
The team says players, coaches and staff will take part with the championship trophy. It also lists a merchandise truck, a viewing area and fan activities along the route. Those are reasons to arrive with time to look around, not promises of a reserved spot or a player meeting.
| Part of the route | Useful arrival option | What to plan before leaving home |
|---|---|---|
| Ferry Building and Mission Street | BART to Embarcadero or a ferry to San Francisco | The walking route from your arrival point to the permitted viewing side |
| Waterfront between the start and finish | Walk from a suitable transit stop | A specific meeting point rather than simply "the Embarcadero" |
| Second and King streets | Caltrain to Fourth and King, followed by a walk | Your return service and enough time to get back through departing crowds |
Do not assume you can cross the procession whenever you want. Agree on a side and a meeting point before your group splits up. If someone needs a shorter walk, seating or a step-free route, confirm the actual viewing arrangements with the organizer rather than assuming the whole waterfront offers the same access.
The announced parade ends at 2pm. That does not mean every street or transit route immediately returns to normal.
BART arrival: pick the station for your viewing area
BART's parade notice recommends Embarcadero or Montgomery for the northern part of the route. For the southern end, it suggests Powell Street, a walk to Union Square station, then a southbound T Third train toward Sunnydale to Fourth and King. You still need to walk to the parade route.
BART plans longer and additional trains, with extra staff. Allow time for queues; extra service does not guarantee a seat or an empty platform after the celebration.
If driving to a BART station, check parking before committing. BART identifies Glen Park, MacArthur, Rockridge, Walnut Creek and West Oakland as stations whose parking can fill by 8:30am even on an ordinary weekday. A station farther along your line may be worth considering, but check its parking conditions too.
Can one bank card pay for the whole family?
No. Under BART's contactless payment rules, each rider needs a separate payment card or device. Use the same card or device to enter and exit. A physical bank card and its phone-wallet version are not interchangeable for completing one journey.
Contactless bank cards charge the adult fare. Eligible youth, senior and other discounted riders should use their appropriate Clipper programme instead. Sort that out before joining the station queue, particularly when several children are traveling together. A previous Valkyries game ticket is not evidence of free parade-day travel.
Muni changes: the N Judah does not reach Caltrain during the diversion
SFMTA's November 4 notice says the N Judah turns back at Embarcadero from 9:30am to 3pm. Do not expect it to continue to Fourth and King during that period. Use the agency's suggested T Third, 30 or 45 alternatives as appropriate for your starting point.
The F Market & Wharves uses buses all day, with a diversion from the start of service until 3pm. Several other bus routes also change; check your individual line rather than assuming every diversion has the same hours.
Road controls extend beyond the parade itself. Some closures begin at 12:01am, others at 8am, with the listed street-closure window continuing until 4pm. Normal operations resume as streets clear. A 2:15pm pickup on the parade route is therefore a poor return plan.
Save SFMTA's notice and use current service alerts before boarding. A familiar stop may be skipped even when a journey-planning app still shows your usual route.
Caltrain: modified locals and the Gilroy connection
Caltrain's parade timetable adds a northbound local, 901, leaving San Jose Diridon at 9:13am and reaching San Francisco at 10:31am. That gives you time before the noon start, but it is not an arrival before the 9am lineup opens.
For the return, these are the modified departures shown from San Francisco:
| Train | San Francisco departure | Important difference |
|---|---|---|
| 902 | 2:40pm | Additional southbound local |
| 514 | 3:10pm | Runs local stops despite its usual Express classification |
| 416 | 3:40pm | Runs local stops despite its usual Limited classification |
This is a list of changes, not the entire day's service or the last trains home. Check the full timetable for your station.
Traveling beyond San Jose? Train 514 is scheduled to reach Diridon at 4:27pm, with South County Connector 814 departing at 4:30pm. That leaves only three scheduled minutes. Do not treat it as a guaranteed connection, especially if you need more transfer time. Check an earlier departure and your fallback before choosing where to watch.
Golden Gate Ferry: capacity and last departures matter
Golden Gate's parade guidance covers travel from Larkspur, Sausalito and Tiburon. It warns that Larkspur sailings can reach capacity and recommends arriving 30 minutes before departure. It points to Sausalito and Tiburon as alternatives with more capacity, not guaranteed boarding.
For the return from San Francisco, the notice lists the last Sausalito and Tiburon departures at 7:15pm, and Larkspur at 8pm. Gates close one minute before departure. Recheck the operator's current alerts before leaving for the terminal.
A later dinner can turn a straightforward ferry trip into a different journey home. Save the last sailing, decide how early you will return to the gate and keep a land-based alternative if a boat fills. If you combine SMART and a ferry, check both legs separately; a special train does not establish a matching ferry connection.
Visiting with children and planning a manageable day
San Francisco public schools remain open on November 4. SFUSD's November 3 announcement says parade attendance is not an excused absence and schools will not organize field trips. Its warning about transport disruption also matters to families doing ordinary drop-off and pickup nearby.
For visitors, build the day around one viewing area rather than trying to follow the procession from end to end. Bring layers, drinking water and a charged power bank. Leave room for food and a slower walk back instead of booking another timed attraction immediately after 2pm.
Check any parade-specific bag, stroller and accessible-viewing instructions before setting out. Do not apply Chase Center's game-day rules to a street event. If a particular facility is essential, ask about its location before committing to hours in one spot.

Maps, meeting points and US mobile data
Save the route, your return timetable and your accommodation address offline. Give everyone one precise meeting point and a time to regroup if messages stop arriving. Keep transit alerts available on your phone, but do not make a live connection your only way to find the rest of your group.
For an international visitor whose home plan does not include US data, OpenSim's United States plans offer a defined allowance for maps, service updates and messaging. The November 4 public catalog lists 1GB for 7 days at USD 1.66 and 3GB for 15 days at USD 4.40, both eligible for top-up. That can suit a short visit when you prefer a separate, known data purchase to your home operator's roaming terms.
It does not reserve a parade spot, pay transit fares or guarantee service in a crowded area. If your existing plan already includes enough US data, another purchase may be unnecessary.
Estimate the rest of your trip with the travel data calculator, check phone compatibility, and read when to install before traveling.
Sources and updates
The Valkyries supply the parade route and lineup time. BART, SFMTA, Caltrain and Golden Gate supply their own service arrangements; SFUSD supplies the school-day guidance. Changes to the November 4 route, viewing access, transport or return departures will trigger an update, followed by a review after the celebration. Event-only timetables should not be used for later visits.
